  1. (im)patiently waiting to see if we'll get approved tonight :)

Also, I thought I'd share that my fiancé and I just reached a milestone and just purchased our first new car! We're so excited about this purchase, it somehow brings us closer to one another, and closer to the moment we will be reunited forever! We've also finally decided to get married in the beginning of August (I mean, what are the odds that we don't have our visa by then?) Thinking positive thoughts makes everything so much easier!

  2. Hi,

I read that for the Montreal consulate, I need to prove that my American fiancé resides permanently in the USA. He is an American citizen who does reside permanently in the USA, but he currently lives with his parents, and wants to wait as long as possible before he moves out, in order to save money for when I move in with him.

He has no rental agreement, no mortgage payments, or any "paper" documents that prove that the place of residence is his. What can we bring to the interview to prove that he does indeed reside in the USA on a permanent basis? I heard that the Montreal consulate can be quite picky about these kind of things, and we want to be sure not to get denied at the interview just because he lives with his parents...

    Thanks!

  3. What's going on with TSC this week??? Al these approvals last week and barely anything in the past few days... I was starting to get hopeful, but now it's getting harder and harder to stay positive and not worry... I know my NOA 1 date is June 30th so I'll probably be the last one of us to get approved, but at least seeing everyone else getting their NOA2 showed me that TSC was working hard on our cases... Hopefully we'll get some more approvals soon!

  4. Me too this waiting is horrible but all these approvals are getting my hopes up high lol I'd b happy to hear something that would b the best Christmas present knowing we are thru the hardest part the waiting

Same here (maybe if I send a nice letter to Santa he can sort things out).

This whole process is testing my patience, and I'm really not a patient person. But it's teaching me to be flexible in my plans, and that I can't control everything, no matter how much I want to. This is also making our relationship stronger, I think there's something truly special about us long distance couples, I think we need twice the dedication and at least five times the amount of trust in order to make things work, It's all about compromise, communication, and above all being able to be there for each other for love and support. It's hard enough to be long distance and in the same time zone, like Rick and I am, I really can't fathom living halfway across the world like a lot of you are doing, kudos to you all for making it work, it'll be over soon, and so worth it!

  5. I'm all for talking about wedding planning :) It's one of my favourite subjects! December 14th will actually be our one year anniversary since Rick proposed.

We're getting married in Walt Disney World, it's a special place for us because it's where we met and fell in love (We were both working there at the time) We're inviting 60 guests, all of them were advised to keep their summer calendars open for a wedding. We want to get married in the summer of 2015 (anytime between June 29th and August 28th to accommodate my sisters school scheduled) My wedding dress was bought in May, and is currently altered and hanging on my bedroom door, my sisters bridesmaid dresses have been ordered and the alterations are almost dome, the photographer is booked (she understands the situation and is very flexible for the date, since we're having the wedding on a Monday or a Tuesday) My invitations are already picked out, and I have a clear idea of how the day will go. As soon as we have a good enough idea of when I receive my visa, we call Disney to set the wheels in motion (they take care of EVERYTHING, flowers, catering, wedding cake, music, you name it!) we call the photographer to confirm the date, we order the invitations and send them out and BAM the whole thing is planned! We think that we'll be able to do this once we know the interview date (or is it too risky even then... How long does it take between the interview and the receipt of the visa?)

After the wedding, we go on our honeymoon (we're thinking California right now), and when we get home, I file for AOS. Also, since January, I'm working on getting my credentials approved to work as a physical therapist, so hopefully that'll all be done before AOS is completed, that way as soon as I'm allowed to work, I can do the job that I love (which is making people feel better)

Here's one of my favourite pictures of us, taken about 5 minutes after Rick popped the question, please ignore the weird look on my face, I was still shaking like a leaf and in a state of complete shock (even though I knew he'd be popping the question during that 2 week period lol)post-195920-0-26999900-1417660799_thumb.jpg

  6. Glad to see a fellow Montreal applicant on Vj... We sent out our application June 23rd,got our noa1 june 30th,and eagerly awaiting our noa2. This is a real test of patience, and patience really isn't my best quality... However I'm taking comfort in the fact that 3 1/2 years of long distance relationship is soon in the past! Stay strong everyone, good things are on their way for us, I'm sure of it
