If USCIS have it on file is your wife parent's address then leave it that way and I wont suggest not to change the state ID if still valid since you already changed your address online, that would be enough proof that both of you live together. Also In the application form, Under Part 1, Q 22: Have you resided at any other address since you became a PR? you dont have to put your wife parent's address since you don't live there, you only use that address as mailing address. Just put the address on that part where you exactly live since day one you become PR.

So to confirm, in Q 22, are you suggesting to put my wifes address in mailing address and my current address or physical address or just use my current address for both of them?

    thanks for your help!!

Don't you have physical mailbox on your physical address? I don't recommend two different addresses though that's sounds confusing on USCIS side having two different addresses. I would suggest that mailing address and physical address should be the same, just make sure you have lease agreement on you current physical address since you already updated your address information online.

    • Copies of Joint checking account statements from October 2015 - July 2017. From April 2015 - September 2015 its pointing to wife's parent address so i am not submitting. Will there be a Problem? - You dont need this since you have enough evidence on joint assets.

Yes, we do have our physical mailbox on our physical address. So the uscis on file has my wife's parents address and all notifications are sent out over there. I think I read somewhere in the forum that I will have to notify uscis with change of my address. Since I don't have time to do that, that's why i put my wife's address as mailing address and our address in physical address. What should i do now?

Also, our Current drivers License has my Wife's parent address. We can probably get it changed this week to our physical address but they will know when it was issued so should i do that or just leave it. I do have the copy of change of address from DMV NJ online so I can submit just that piece.

I did use ACCO fasteners to organize my documents. I did not highlight anything on our joint bank account statements since we mentioned on our cover letter that part of the transactions on our joint account statement shows that both of us paying all the utility bills and rent, so that is a clear indication that they can check the transaction if they want to.

    Thank you!

I am going to mail out my packet this week. I do have a couple of questions /doubts highlighted in bold and if you could answer and review my list, that would be awesome. :D

Quick background info, I came on a K1 visa, got married, and got my for 2 year permanent residency. When I applied for my permanent residency, on the application forms I gave the address of my wife's parents as thats our main mailing address for important documents. Since the time I have entered US and got married, I and my wife stay at the place which she leased in 09/2014.

The address on our drivers license is still pointing to her parents address. However, we leased a new car few months back and updated our addresses for our DL online but not on our DL card. I have a confirmation for both of us.

    Question:

    1) In the application form, Under Part 1, Q 22: Have you resided at any other address since you became a PR? After marriage (April 2015), we have always stayed at our own place and I got my green card in October 2015. Reference letter would help and the actual lease agreement, but it will be more helpful if your US citizen spouse create a letter and explains the scenario because IO wouldn't know unless you explain to them in by creating a letter and attached it to the reference letter and lease agreement (Front Page)

    thanks! I will do that.

Did you use ACCO fasteners or paper clips to mail your package?

Also, I guess we have to highlight key info on all papers right -- credit card statements, lease payments, names, etc ?

I think you have enough evidence. For the lease agreement without your name, just ask your US citizen spouse to create a letter and explain why your not on the lease.

I went to the lease office and found that my wife did add me as an additional occupant (not tenant) for the first two years lease. They gave me the last two years lease papers that shows me as additional occupant and also gave me a reference letter stating our names, address, period since we have been tenants at this place.

My wife moved to this place in nov 2014. I came to the US and we got married in apr 2015. The reference letter has date from Nov 2014 to Oct 2018 when our current lease ends. Since I moved to the US officially in apr 2015, will submitting the reference letter be a problem? If so, should I just submit the last three years lease agreement then?

    Please advise!

    thanks!!

  6. Hello,

I am in process of gathering documents and sending out the I-751 form. We realized that my name is not there on the first two lease agreements however, its on the third one which started this year. Will that be a problem?

I have checking account, credit card statements and tax transcripts for 2015 & 2016 that show me as a joint account and added as authorized user. Will this be enough?

This year, we leased a car so I am submitting lease papers and car insurance. Other than that, we are submitting, home insurance, health insurance, beneficiaries, vacation trip details, photos, marriage certificate, affidavits by two family and friends and letter from our OB/GYN about the baby.

Please let me know if these documents are enough to support our case and that I am not part of the first two leases.

  10. Hi Everyone,

I have applied for my AOS and submitted the forms I-485 and I-765. I have received my biometrics (New Jersey state) however, I am traveling and will be in California on my appointment day. My appointment is at 3 pm EST, but I am leaving from CA for NJ in the afternoon so I wont be able to go at 3 pm.

Is it possible if I can go to the nearest USCIS office in California and do my biometrics on the same day but earlier time(in the morning) or should I reschedule it?

    Thanks!!

  11. Hello Seniors,

This is my first post at visa journey.

Summary: My fiancee is a US citizen and lives in NY, USA and I am a Permanent Resident of Canada living in Toronto. We filed our I-129F petition in march 2014 and got our NOA2 approved on September 15, 2014. I have also got my MTL number from the NVC Centre.

On October 20, 2014, I received a package from US consulate montreal asking for my Immigration status document in Canada and that they wont be able to proceed ahead until I have send it to them. I have emailed them my passport copy and my permanent resident card to MONTREAL-IV-DV@state.gov email address on October 20, 2014.

I tracked my application online with my MTL number on ceac.state.gov website and the status says that its READY.

It also says the following thing :

"Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html"

My question is what am I supposed to do now? Am I supposed to fill out my DS-160 form, schedule my interview and book appointment for my medicals or wait for them to notify me for the interview?

Also, what documents am I supposed to submit them (I-134, ds-156k) and carry with me for the interview?

All your help is really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    Piyush
