  1. Got our email/text today saying the application has been received at the lockbox! Got about 6 at once for some reason, maybe there was a glitch o_O. Glad it's got there and it's been seen :).

Nice! We filed same day, still haven't got our notification yet. :( I'm also curious though, did you submit a G1145 notification form for each packet (AOS, EAD, and AP)? We only sent one G1145. That might be why you got a lot of notifications, one for each process..

  2. That's a great question, the only time I gave her e-mail address was when I called the NVC to check on status, they asked for her e-mail address after verifying everything. I'm not sure what happens if you don't call NVC for status updates. You could try contacting the NVC and see if it's possible for them to update somehow... If the file was already sent though, I'm not sure.. Try contacting the Embassy in Bogota.

  3. Having atteneded an interview in Bogota recently, I can tell you that they don't even ask for identification which is strange. I had my US Passport with me just in case. I simply walked up to line 3 with her and was given a sticker and proceeded together through security. into the waiting area and up to the window. No issues. In fact, the K1 Visa Packet says you are welcome to attend.

  4. Oh my gosh I'm sorry to hear that Chuck.

Looks like everyone else on here has gave you great suggestions to stop the process.

We had our interview the same day (Friday, 23rd) in Bogota and CEAC status is already changed from Ready to Administrative Processing and now today its status is "Issued"

Try checking the CEAC website and see the status for your case.

    Take care of yourself!

  5. Colombia will e-mail the packet to your fiancee in a PDF document- we got ours a day or so after Bogota received it, was very quick.

We waited to submit the DS-160 form until we got the e-mail and we answered yes to helping with the application. Best to answer everything truthfully.

Our interview was approved today without any issues.

    Good luck!!

  6. My fiancé has his interview on Friday 1/23. Needless to say we are very nervous. From everything I've seen, the only reason someone gets denied is if they don't have the right paper work, something bad in the medical or can't show a continuing relationship. I had a lawyer do all our paperwork, he did his medical last week and all was good. We have only met once for 10 days in Sept. But we have chat and call logs showing lots and lots of daily communication.

Are we missing anything? Any last minute advise is helpful.

We had to change our interview to Friday the 23rd, I guess we will see each other in line!

She is going to have her medical on Tuesday, and I will arrive Wednesday.

Do you know if we have to provide translations for any of the documents? it's pretty gray in the paper sent whether or not it's actually needed...

    Goodluck to you guys!!

  7. Hey all-

We received our information from the embassy and went online to schedule interview, earliest available is December 16 and almost everyday after!!! We have to do the medical first so that earliest date wont work for us.... We cannot believe how fast this process has been and that now the embassy is pretty much waiting for us, where we were waiting all this time. CRAZY!

Good luck to everyone on here!

  8. How did you learn about your NVC number?

Calling? Email? Or Snail Mail? Thanks.

Once you get through on the phone to NVC, give them your USCIS NOA2 Receipt Number or also known as i-797 Receipt Number

They will verify both Petitioner and Beneficiary full name, and date of birth then ask them for the NVC case number and status.

If they have not received it yet, they will say its not in the system and can take up to X days for NVC to receive.
