I used the third box :)

Mine was received the next day~~so you might get it tomorrow :)

Congrats~~so my method worked on your case :) haha~~~

I actually tried your method! We received the approval email on 8/7/15 and the welcome letter on 8/11/15. I submitted an inquiry per your advice on 8/20/15 and today the USCIS website is updated stating that my Green Card has been mailed!! I only waited 1.5 weeks after approval! I figured "if it works, it works" now, it may be a coincidence but only God knows. Anywho, thanks for posting! :)

But most importantly, Thank you, Lord JESUS!!!!!! Blessed be Your name!!!

  2. Seattleite over here ... We filed in early September 2014 and had my interview in March 2015 and no decision was made. I made an InfoPass appt that was of no help, then called them twice which did nothing. Our case was outside their processing times but then on Aug 7th, we got an email stating that my husband's case was approved! It was a loooooong wait but thank the Lord it is now over. Now we're just waiting for the actual green card to arrive but the letter states it will arrive within 3 weeks.

I know, first hand, easier said than done but you just have to be very, very patient!! May God bless you!!!

  3. Hello! I was wondering if there are any other Seattle, September 2014 filers? My husband and I had our interview on 03/24/15 and the IO stated that our case would be reviewed. That same day our I-130 was approved but our AOS I-485 is still "Under Review". It's been 18+ weeks (4 months+ and about 130 days) since our interview and we're still anxiously and eagerly waiting on the decision. I have faith of a positive outcome but I can't believe how long it has taken them!

Back in June went in with an InfoPass, which was of no help. The guy at the desk said we had to keep waiting. I called and spoke to Tier 2 about 2 weeks ago and still nothing... My attorney will be reaching out to them again but I was wondering if anyone else in Seattle going through this?

    Thanks for reading!

  4. Hey Tina and Johan!

How or where did you get the "Expected Green Card Approval Date" from?

    Thanks! :)

There's a couple in the NIPW thread who filed AOS in January, 2014, and just got an RFE for expired medical. Same with a couple who filed in March, 2014. But then there are also plenty who just get approved with no RFE. So it's luck of the draw, I suppose. For what it's worth, I too will be quite unhappy if the green card is stalled do to an RFE caused by their lack of efficiency.

Edited to add YEARS to the dates. :(

  5. My husband and I had our interview in Seattle as well on 3-23-15 and we're still waiting for a decison!

    Hey guys.

I and my wife had an interview with USCIS (Seattle Office) conducted by Officer Sonia Hobart. The interview went great. She was extremely professional and respectful to both of us throughout the interview. We went through my I-485 and my wife's petition I-130, to make sure everything is correct.

We've been dating since 2008. We married on her birthday 2014.

Back to the interview. In our possession we had our marriage certificate, phone records (texts and call log) since it was mostly long distance relationship prior to getting married, email exchanges dating back from 09, car title with both our names, joint lease, work emergency contact, travel itinerarys (both of our visits to each other and trips we made together, including hotel stays with both of our names on it), tons of photos together, and with both of our families.

After going through the application, her first question was, "As a married couple, how do you convince a stranger that you're married?" Which I found funny and confusing at the same time, as in the sense that, in real life all we have to do is tell them we are married, but I know. That doesn't work with USCIS. We started digging through our documents. She took the ones that she needed.

She then asked to see pictures from our wedding. We provided her a few and she asked who were in attendance. It was a very simple court wedding as we can't afford a big ceremony. I'm only 22, no job (just got my social security # couple of months ago). She's 23, graduated college this summer. Her whole family lives overseas. She use to live with a family friend while she was attending high school but they treated her so bad they're not in speaking terms anymore. The only family she has over here is her cousin and her boyfriend and they were both in attendance.

I met both of her parents for the first time when they came from Africa for her graduation last summer. I had the privilege to spend some quality time with them during their short stay. Although, her mom ended up staying here in the US.

The officer's concern was, why did the parents came for her graduation and not for "wedding". I had to correct the officer that this was indeed marriage ceremony, not a wedding. There was no way we could have afforded to pay for their trip to come for both. Considering the fact, they didn't even have their visas at the time. I was unemployed and living with my mom. She was still going to school, living in student housing with 3 other roommates, meaning if they would've came, we would have to pay for their hotel. We were not going to change our marriage date for their convenience. Our birthdays are only few days apart (6days to be exact) and it was extremely important that, we are able to celebrate both our anniversary and birthdays together. We thought it would be a great idea to invite them for her graduation instead. That way we can just celebrate as one big family.

She then asked about my family. My mother is in the US going through her own immigration battle. She lost her mother (my only grandparent left) exactly 11 days before we got married. That, together with her denial letter from uscis with grounds of inadmissibility (meaning she can't even travel back to attend her own mother's funeral) was depressing beyond words. It was an extremely difficult time for my family. There was no way she could attend our marriage ceremony considering it was being held 2,000 miles away from where she lives.

She then decided to separate us. She interviewed me first (the beneficiary) and then my wife (the petitioner). She asked about our proposal, my wife's travel history e.t.c. She escorted me out and asked my first the same questions. Both lasted about 5mins. Our answers matched 100%. From what I read from different forums, it looks like most couples are brought back in the office together afterwards but that wasn't the case for us. She just told my wife she was unable to make a decision at the time and to wait for the decision in the mail and handed her a white piece of paper. It's reads "Your case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS does not require any further information or document from you. Should further information or document be required, you will receive a notice in the mail. We may also schedule you for another interview, you will receive a notice in the mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be mailed to you once your case is complete."

I need help. What should I expect from this?? It's been 2weeks and I haven't heard anything.

  6. Thank you everyone for the positive words and birthday wishes!! :D

Ok so, we left home at about 11:50 pm and got half way there when I realized ( or thought so ) that I didn't have my husband's recent pay stubs in the big evidence folder.. so we turn back and I go looking for it in the house and realize it's not there- turns out It was actually in the evidence folder all this time, I just missed it under a stack of papers ( Nerves were apparently making me delusional :lol: ) By this time it's about 12:10 and we should have been there by 12:15 ( LOL ) so my husband was pretty much racing there.. We got there at exactly 12:25 and rushed inside where we sat in the waiting room till about 12:50 when a short asian man with the heaviest accent came and called our names. We were sworn in once we got to his office and he started asking me my Name, DOB, Address & he also gave me a notepad and told me to write my address down.( I kept having to ask him to repeat himself cause his accent was SO thick! ) Then he started talking to my husband and asked him the same Name & DOB questions, He also asked for his passport and all ID's as well as how & when we met.. He started telling him one version of how we met & I interrupted and said " Nooo, You have to tell the FULL story!! " Lol, all three of us started laughing & he told my husband to proceed.. So he tells him the story of how we met .. Then he asks me if I have any brothers or sisters here in the US, I told him I have a brother in another state and another out of the country.. He also asked about my mother and father. Then he asked why my brother never filed for me, I told him that was just never discussed. He asked about my SSN next, wanted to know how come I had one and I told him I had an EAD previously and he asked if that was the same number i've been using since i've been living in the states to which I responded yes. I had overstayed after one of my parents petitions were denied for me, and he asked why I never left after that, I told him it wasn't an option for me. He tried to pick around a bit asking how do I know you're not just trying to get a green card ? I said you don't know that, and that's why i'm here.. He started asking me the same question several times in several different ways and asking if I knew that was illegal and against the law and blah blah, I responded " Yes, and I also understand that such transgressions are forgiven for USC spouses " .. he dropped the subject after that and went on to ask for what we brought.. I gave him pictures, joint account statements, hotel keys & booking printouts from various trips, all birthday cards from my husband I got from past birthdays and today, proof of joint ownership of a car and i had a whole stack of records showing our text messages dating back a year. Of everything I provided he only glanced at the pictures then gave them back to me, he asked how come we didnt have that many pictures of us with other people ( we did, he just didn't look  ) so I pointed out the ones I sent with my application along with some more I had brought. He looked at a few this time and stopped to ask about a picture of us with my husbands newborn niece to ask who it was.. He then asked if I know his mom, dad, and sisters to which I replied yes. He looked at the Car title and asked what kinda car it was and my husband told him. He also asked if we had any affidavits from friends or family to which I replied no ( Apparently these are very important, so take heed guys! Lol ) ..He also asked for my husband's tax returns to which I told him they were in the file and he looked through and said okay.. He skimmed through everything else and gave most of it back and said I could keep everything else.. He didnt even look at my text message records  .. He stamped two sheets of paper in front of him and started typing on his computer and asked who helped me with my paperwork, my husband replied and told him I did it all myself and he said it was very well put together but I would need to gather more evidence and affidavits for ROC .. He printed two sheets of paper which were approval letters and told us to read and sign and started to talk about ROC and citizenship. After I felt it was safe and I was approved, I asked him if I could get a stamp and he said NO! Buttt..I wasnt taking no for an answer lool.. I just started to kindly explain what happened to my EAD & told him that my employer has been waiting for my documents since october.. He asked who is the employer.. I told him and we started talking about the company a bit.. then he said ok fine i'll give you the stamp, but it's not gonna have the seal on it , he said to show that and my approval letter to them and if they don't take it I should come back for the stamp with the seal but that my card will be coming soon anyways ( apparently the stamp is just for people who need to travel & That's why he didn't wanna give it to me? ) .. he stamped it in my passport and wrote the date on it and it says something like temporary i-551 stamp serves as green card for 1 year and " Employment Authorized " below it ... He told us we would receive the card soon and walked us out and then me and hubby went to lunch after that, so quite an eventful day :D

Damn, That took me like an hour or more to type.. I hope there's not like a cajillian errors

Wow!!!! Congratulations and enjoy that GC when it comes!!!!

  7. Follow up question. Did she give you any answer other than saying it's a "fluke"?

so where does your application stand now?

Did she have you a new update? If so did they tell you till when to expext a letter?

She didn't really give me any answer and my application is still "ready for scheduling". She did not have a new update and although I did go to their website to request the "notice" be re-sent, I got an automated reply that stated something along the lines of "You should hear from us by 12/3/14 regarding your request" but I don't know what they're going to tell me since I was never really scheduled anyways. I honestly think that those new dates that are showing on their new system are more like were they would like to be at but given that they have a backlog, they are not meeting those internal (for lack of a better word) timelines.

Just so tired of waiting... not to mention I am 7.5 months pregnant and due 1/5/15. I just hope my interview comes before baby does!! :)

  8. My husband applied for his AOS on Sept 11 and on Nov 6 the online status changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview" and it says we should receive the interview notice in the mail by Dec 6. Wow!!! Isn't that moving kind of fast? I guess it shouldn't be long now, right?

(fyi our local office is Portland, OR)

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer but mine has been "ready to be scheduled for an interview" since 10/8/14 and the website says that I should have received an interview notice by 11/7/14 if not to contact them to get the notice re-sent. Well, I contacted them on 11/10/14 to let them know that I never received anything but the lady on the phone told me that their system doesn't show that I have even been scheduled at all! So basically told me that the date is probably a fluke due to their new system... sigh...
