  1. Hello,

I am interested to sponsor my spouse who currently lives in India. I am a naturalized US Citizen. When I file for I 130, at the interview stage at US Embassy in New Delhi, India what kind of invstigation fo they do on the case?

    - Do they call family members? or Friends? or Neighbors? Or former employers?

    - If so how do they know who is a family member and who is not?

    - Also, What kind of questions do they ask them?

    - Many family members or neighbors might not know how we met etc or have the wrong information. What happens then?

    - Is this a common practice?

    - have you experienced this on your case?

    Please help.

    Thanks

  2. I am a naturalized US Citizen. I got my initial green card through marriage to a US citizen, I 751 through good faith marriage waiver and Citizenship based on 5 year residency requirement rule. I of course had to prove that the marriage was bonafide at I 485 stage even more so during I 751 good faith marriage waiver. Now I am planning to marry someone from my country who lives outside the US and I have become Citizen very recently. When I sponsor them for CR1 after getting married will USCIS look into my previous marriage and divorce too? Or is that history now? If USCIS will than should I expect to answer questions related to my previous marriage or worry about my status? Please suggest. Thank You.

P.S. I will update my experience shortly.

  3. Civics test for n400

Hi- I was reading the book on n400 civics. Questions have multiple answers for example what was Benjamin Franklin famous for? Answers. a) he started the first free libraries. B) he was a us diplomat c) project almanac. So can I answer any one of the three if IO asks me or do I have to answer a particular one? Thanks

  4. For my N400 I compiled the list of all the tickets I have. Please see them below:

    6/25/14, speeding, Fines Paid

    5/21/14, speeding, Fines Paid

10/19/13, red light photo enforcement, fines paid

9/17/13, Red light photo enforcement, fines paid

8/9/13, speeding by 13 mph, fines paid

4/22/13, speeding by 17 mph, fines paid

6/17/11, failure to stop at stop sign, fines paid

EZ pass violation, fines paid, Some parking tickets, fines paid

I have also completed a 8 hour drivers improvement course from a community college to acknowledge my mistake and show rehab. I mentioned all of these in N400 and attached certified court dispositions showing paid in full. None of them are DUI and I did not get arrested or anything. In 2011 my license got suspended for one day due to non payment, but I paid it the next day and my license got reinstated. Should I worry about denial for the N400 interview due to these?

Thanks. I appreciate the help and support.

  6. I have the following tickets: 2 speeding tickets in 2014 (one through red light photo enforcement, one through being pulled over by a cop). 4 tickets (2 speeding by pulled over by a cop and 2 improper red light turn via photo enforcement) in 2013. 1 failure to stop sign ticket in 2011 (pulled over by a cop, petty misdemeanor). 1 ez pass violation and a few parking tickets (handicap parking and meter expired).
1 of the 2 tickets in 2013 caused me point other was reduced by court to no points. 1 ticket in 2011 led to license suspension due to late payment, I paid, license got reinstated the next day. I did drivers improvement course to show sort of "rehab" for my mistakes for GMC.
Are these tickets “too many” or “too serious” for N400? Will I get my N400 denied? Please suggest.
    Thanks

I have not had any since mid last year. I have improved and continue to do so. Thanks

  8. So for Murican and Worried_joel they went to ex spouses. I am not sure if this is becoming the trend. If it is, I am very concerned. Because my ex would falsely say I tricked them just to get me into trouble. I had a nasty divorce. Should I worry? They have given me good faith marriage waiver and a permanent green card. If my ex says falsely that I ticked them will uscis deport me just because of that after giving me perm gc? Thanks

  9. Hello Members,

I am applying for N-400. Previously when I applied for I-751 waiver I had 1 traffic ticket at the time of filing of I 751 (I had attached the paid receipt with the I 751 application). After filing the I 751 but before the interview I got more tickets. I did not take any info of the new tickets (that I got after filing the I 751 application) to the interview with me. One of these two things happened at the interview -

1.) EITHER the Immigration Officer did not ask me whether I got any more tickets (besides the one mentioned) and I did not bring up other tickets.

2:) OR the Immigration Officer asked me whether I got any more tickets (besides the one mentioned) and I said no by mistake due to anxiety.

In any of these two scenarios will USCIS consider this misrepresentation and deny N400 and revoke my Green Card? Do they have record of what was asked at the previous I-751 interview?

    I am really worried.

    Thank You

  10. My ex accused me of fraud and cheating on them (of course it was not true) in an email to me. I sent everything including that piece of information with my I 751 waiver application. I am just worried that will not be an issue now in naturalization. The immigration office that approved my I 751 is different than now because I moved. Do you think that email can cause me troubles now?
