She has not internet......When I go to Philippines I carry a dual sim and keep Smart and a SUN IDD.
Sun IDD cost like 1 peso per minute to call USA and the quality is very good, I think it is for international only calls to USA.
If she doesn't have internet, she may buy cheap phone cards

Viber is free ... You just need internet or wifi connection

Hi.. when I request to expedite my interview, I wrote an email to the embassy. Then they response that they waive my moms interview and that she can come anytime on the date given. Setting an appointment online, doesn't really works for immigrant, because they will not conduct an interview without the files.
Thats awesome... If undont mind to get the email address you used to email them.
Do they responded quick?
When is your parents interview?
-
ah. ok.
so it's on you to set the visa appointment.
set up an account at ustraveldocs.com/ph
and set up the visa appointment. once you have a visa appointment letter, is easy to get the medical at SLEC.
You might be able to get the medical without the appointment letter - if you have any checklist emails from NVC showing the consular casefile number (MNL2014XXXXXX) can bring those in to SLEC.
Thank so much. I wil check the ustraveldocs.com/ph to set up appointment for interview for my parents
I just registered online for SLEC.

No need to call St.Luke, just register online. For the interview. I don't know. But the embassy will not let you set an appointment without the case file. I expedited my mom's interview but I have to wait for the NVC's interview appointment.
Its walk in. Register online. and bring any documents that has your manila case number.
Thanks I will do that
-
You can proceed to medical. Medical doesn't have appointment. But only the NVC will set an appointment interview.
Thank you.
Where can I schedule the medical? Is it online or by phone?
What proof do i need to show them? any mail correspondence with MNLxxx okay?
-
I had it expedited.
Now i dont know what next. Should i call US embassy in manila for interview? can i call St lukes to make an appointment?
-
I never recieved any email saying it is completed, though, i checked ceac webiste it says ready.
Here what is says:
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have received interview scheduling instructions.
Please take the medical exam at St. Luke’s Extension Clinic in Manila at least one week before your interview. You are encouraged to register online at the St. Luke’s website: www.slec.ph prior to your medical exam. The medical exam may take more than one day to complete. -
Apologize if there is a duplicated thread.
Here's what i saw on ceac website.. My question is, should initiate to make appointment to get a medical at ST. Lukes and interview? or should i wait?

I requested an expedite request to NVC and they forwarded it to Manila Embassy. After a week, I received an email that it was approved for expedite.
The U.S. Embassy or Consulate is willing to expedite this case when we have all the fees, forms, and documents. If you have not already done so, you can pay your fees and submit Form DS-260 at ceac.state.gov. Please send everything else to this address:
National Visa Center
31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 200
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2915
I have been calling NVC to get an update when are they going to send the documents to Manila as I would like to schedule her interview and get my mom's medical as soon as possible. I saw on the SLEC website that she has to show proof of interview schedule before she can go for medical. NVC told me that they dont have timeline when will the case be completed but my expedited request was approved. Doesnt make any sense to wait again? Anyone experiencing the same thing?
Hi, How did you expidite your application and what is the reason?
-
my moms interview is on feb 5... as per NVC letter everything that I sent to them originals and copies will be sent to manila us embassy. so all they need is the original passport, letter that they have sent and picture. if the NBI is over a year you should get one.
Awesome, Your case reviewed so fast by NVC. We filed at the same time. But, I havent heard anything yet.

It is very ridiculous that i haven't recieve my Dad's IV invoice. I already paid for my mom's IV bill 2 weeks ago. I called NVC multiple times, they keep saying i should recieve it soon. I called again yesterday and the rep said that they are having technical difficulties in sending invoices.
Does anyone of you guys having this problem?

AOS fee gone up. It is $120.00 now

Aos --> financial docs such as income tax transcript, pay stub, u can also send letter of employment. Make sure u are above the poverty level.
iv - civil docs.. Such as birth certificate, police cert, marriage cert etc
I heard that starting November 12, nvc doesn't require original docs anymore.

The question is -->
Do you have a communicable disease of public health significance such as tuberculosis?
I think the answer is "NO". You said you are cleared so I guess you don't have TB anymore.
If the question is "have you had the in the past year/6 months (or whatever)? then the answer is "yes" then explain why.
That is my thought...

Today.. i dialed over 100x.

how long is the process for name correction? my birth cert. was type written and my mom said it was the midwife who filled it up.. everything else are correctly spelled except the MARIA to MA.
It took about less than a week for them to fix it. My dad's last name is Munoz, on her birth cerificate it wa Munios. We changed it to Munoz because all his docs are Munoz.
My mom name is Elisa, on her birth certifcate it was Eliza. She changed it also.
It is easy change, just lots of paper works
-
She should follow what's on her birth certificate.... Or file an affidavit of change of name.
My parents names are also messed up. Wrong spelling... They went to municipal court to correct the error. They both got passports with the corrected name. Reason for change is clerical error. - I am just sharing my experience.
-
Bad news
Both my parents are going back next week for the 3 days sputum tests
awww... I heard that drinking sterilized milk helps....
-
Thank you. Good luck to all of us
-
They are really confusing... very complicated ... goodluck to all of us.
-
they need the new case number from NVC
-
I just spoke with nvc 603.334.0700..keep calling .... It took me bout 20 dials before I get through

HELP!!! My wife's friend being treated like a SLAVE!!!

There is a womens domestic violence advocate that can help her. What state is she in? I can find out who to call. I had a friend with the same situation. My friend left her husband then went to non-profit organization that helps victims... they typically offer housing and pro-bono lawyer to help for everything... even adjusting her status....
