  1. First of all, thanks you everyone for all your help and support. May parents got approved and received their visas.

My parents attended the CFO seminar in Manila Phil. The facilitator asked if there is any goverment employee present, my mom raised her hand. The facilitator advised my mom to get a clearance from the municipality/government. Is anyone know what is the clearance are they talking about.

My mom asked, her work just told her that she just need to send her resignation.

Is the POE asked for it?

    Anybody here knows?

  2. Why it is very difficult to contact the US embassy nowadays? hhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaayyyy (sigh)

It is very challenging. JUst a month ago, I was able to tak to CO on the phone, now the automated voice saying that they have a different line, but when you get to a person/rep, they are saying that they have a limited access.

I emailed the embassy..,, no response... :(

I just need to know if they accepted my mom's new NBI Clearance or if there is any problem. They asked the same thing for my dad, my dad status is Issued, but my mom is still in AP. grrrrrr... this gives me a headache.

Hopefully my mom status will be issued soon.

  3. Hi,

It's 12-14 years for a USC to petition a brother.

There is no way to make it faster. There is no other visa. His situation does not matter.

The suicide may be a factor about his mental health when the petition matures in 12-14 years.

    Thank you for this information.

Question: Would it be faster if he was able to petition his Mother and Brother at the same time?

Would the attempt of suicide be more of a negitive towards his mental health?

    Thanks!!!!

  4. Need help and advice for a good friend wanting to bring his brother to the US from Nicaragua. The younger brother living in Nicaragua has found himself in a bad situation. He is not in trouble with the law, but has recently tried to commit suicide. The brother is desperately wanting to help his brother and the only way would be to remove him from his current situation. His parents live in Nicaragua as well, and at this time do not wish to be petition.

How, if at all, would my friend be able to petition his brother? I have read that the process to get siblings into the US could take up to 20 years.

Is there away to expedite to process?

Would the attemp of suicide hinder the approval?

OR does it help show the desperate need to get him in the US?

Are there any Visa availble to get him into the US faster?

    Please HELP!

  5. Joygen this is really weird. Why do we need to bring ds-260 when we already submitted it to the NVC? And I have a joint sponsor so do my parents bring his 2014 tax transcript? Mine isn't required? I don't have any income.

Yes, we submitted it. I also have no idea why.. I was freaking out so i have my parents bring everything. SO just in case CO asked for it, it is available for them. I suggest make a copy and sent it to your parents (just to make sure). Like what i said too many is good as far as document. U'll never know what they really need at the time of the interview. Every case is different. My dad told me that, he is happy that i sent them all the paper works, they didnt hae any problem. I even sent them the IV receipt. :)

I couldnt be more prepared lol

thanks for the clarification joeygen , when you say DS-260 you mean the confirmation page right ?

Yes. I also include the 6 pages form and confirmation and Receipt. Gosh, my parents has a bag of docs lol

  6. Thank you Amy. I hope it does go smoothly for you and your mom.

Joygen is NBI the same as a police certificate? My lawyer is really weird. he says my parents only need to take three things: medical, passports, and pictures of me and my parents.

    Yes.

I asked my parents to bring picture of me with my parents but they didnt ask for it though, Medical and passport for sure. Bring your ds260 from. They asked for it.

I have them bring all the original docs. My parents told me that the consulate took everything. Bring 2x2 photos also. Bring everything you can think of.

    Bring your 2014 Tax transcript.

Brief them, do a role play with your parents.

  7. joyegen - could you clarify as to what they specifically wanted ? not quite sure as to what a NBI is ?

joyegen - could you clarify as to what they specifically wanted ? not quite sure as to what a NBI is ?

NBI is Police Report in the Philippines stands for National bureau of Invistigation :). US Embassy required all their aliases included.

  8. Banks are concern to your collateral not your liability... they want to recover their money if there is something happened to ur car, for example theft or fire... liability wont cover you in case of fire and theft - comprehensive coverahe will.

Liability is your responsibility for other person.... typically doesn't care about ur liability unless it is a lease vehicle...

They would want you to have comprehensive and collision coverage. :)
