So it's been about 2 months since my biometrics, and my case is still languishing as "Case was received," and while I got a yellow letter shortly after the biometrics, I haven't gotten anything since. I've noticed that people who are from the same city as me but who filed weeks later have already been placed "in line." Should I be worried about this? Is there anything that can be done to check up on my case?
So I had my interview this morning at 8am. I had to wait about 20 minutes to be called, and the interview lasted about 15 minutes. The immigration officer was very nice and polite. Besides the civics/history exam, she asked me a couple of questions from the application and a little about my spouse. The only issue was that she told me I couldn't be Palestinian because I wasn't born in Palestine and in any case Palestine doesn't exist in their system. In the end, she put down the country that issued my refugee papers as my country of origin. In any case, I passed, and she said I should get an oath notification in about 3 weeks or so.
I was summoned for jury duty last year, actually. I think they just draw from social security numbers. I called them to tell them that I wasn't a citizen, and they gave me an address to send a copy of my green card to prove that I wasn't a citizen, and that was that.
