Hi all, congrats on all of the approvals! I knew everyone would get their turn soon!!!
We just arrived back in the US yesterday, and S was successful in using the EAD/AP combo card for entrance back into the states. We had expedited the AP due to a family wedding, and we were very happy to have been able to attend. If anyone has any questions about expediting or about using AP to travel, feel free to ask! Now we are just waiting for our interview letter...

Found out our AP was approved yesterday with our EAD. Yay for progress! USCIS accepted our case on June 28th, and even though we expedited, the IO told us that we really only expedited it by a couple of weeks. Soon everyone else in this thread will be getting their EAD/APs too!

We got a notification the employment authorization was approved yesterday. I am assuming that since we requested the advance parole expedited, they decided to just expedite the whole combo card and that we will receive it shortly. Of course, the USCIS online case status tracker doesn't say anything about the AP being approved but it's not like I find them reliable with updates.

S' I-765 was approved today!!! Hoping this means S' I-131 is also approved as we need to leave the country in two weeks. Started the day in tears worrying about everything, but now ending the day celebrating!
Great ! I am happy for you... Did you do an expedite request or did it just come through on its own ?
We had an InfoPass appointment on August 11th asking to expedite S' advance parole. August 12th we received the notification that the employment authorization was approved... still no update online (not that I expect one, ha) for the advance parole but I am assuming that they have approved both and will be sending a combo card shortly.

We provided illness, financial, and humanitarian proof. The humanitarian proof (that everyone will be up in arms about, I'm sure) is in regards to S' brother's wedding that takes place in early September in the UK. We also provided proof of S' mother's illness, as she is getting older and weaker every day and due to S' mom living in Trinidad, we don't see her mom very often. The trip to the UK for the wedding would also be a time for us to be able to see S' mom for the first time in a very long time. Our financial burden proof was the receipt of the flights we have booked (this, I'm sure, wasn't taken very seriously).
Mainly, I'm not asking for whether or not my case qualifies to be expedited. We know what USCIS says about qualifications and we know what VJers think about what qualifies--I already know we will get flak for asking to expedite over a wedding. I'm asking, based on the information received above (the IO saying our expedite is approved and the letter from Senator 2's office), if this is proof the case has been expedited.

Hi all,
S and I have attempted to expedite the I-131 due to a family situation that requires us to leave the country in a few weeks. We have been given conflicting/vague answers... perhaps VJ can help us dissect??
July 30: Phoned in expedite request. Denied a few days later due to "overload" of cases currently with USCIS.
Aug 5: Contacted Senator 1 and Senator 2 to help us get expedite approved. Both responded the same day and had us send over proof/privacy release.
Aug 11 at 8:00AM: InfoPass appointment. Immigration Officer called NBC directly to request expedite. IO told us that our expedite was approved and that we would receive "something" in mail in next two weeks. Did not tell us what this would be, if it would be our expedite approval notice or our actual AP. He also did not give us any paperwork or phone numbers/contact info.
Aug 11 at 10:30AM: Received email from Senator 1 office saying that expedite was denied.
Aug 12: Received email from Senator 2's office quoting USCIS saying "Thanks to information provided, these files have been requested and will be given to the expedite team for further review and adjudication. Once further action is taken on these cases the applicant will receive a notice or decision at their address of record." This email also notified us that S' is currently being considered for an interview waiver (we both say a big "HECK NO!" to that).
So...
1. Does this mean our expedite is approved? We are assuming the Senator 1 received a response the day before our InfoPass and just sent it to us later... but the language from USCIS is vague in the Senator 2's email!
2. If the expedite is in fact approved, does this mean we are expected to get our AP in the next two weeks (if everything is approved)? Or are we still going to be playing the waiting game for a while? The IO wasn't the nicest person to deal with and ushered us out the door before we could ask him any more questions, ha.
We have not been able to check our case online nor have we received any emails/texts. S tried two times this morning to speak to a Tier 2 agent but was stalled both times... we are hoping to try again this afternoon.

Hi all, we were told by an IO this morning that our expedite request for our I-131 has been approved. We will be receiving something in the mail sometime in the next two weeks.
I may call USCIS again this afternoon or tomorrow just to confirm it's been approved (as site not updated) and to confirm what the heck we will be receiving. The IO wasn't super helpful but does this mean that they are looking at our case and that we will be getting S's advance parole documents (if case approved) in the next two weeks? Or just confirmation that it has been expedited? Argh! We are supposed to be on a flight out of the country in two weeks exactly.

Hey everyone, we applied over the phone today for expedited/emergency advance parole. We have a family wedding (S' brother) in the UK on September 3rd and would like to attend. We have an InfoPass appointment also scheduled (for the 11th), but we don't want to wait that long and decided to call in today. We know that we may be denied, but are hopeful. We had our biometrics appointment last week, and were waiting for them to have that info on file before applying. We will know within the next 5 business days if we are approved/need to send proof/denied.
The man on the phone was very helpful, and wished us luck. He also told us that if we are denied, we can attempt to contact border control directly about the situation... not sure if that is true or not, I haven't read anything about it before.
Cross your fingers for us!

Hi! We mailed my Husbands AOS paperwork on June 25th. We received NOA1 texts/emails on the 8th, but still waiting on the hard copies and biometrics letter. I hope we get an appt for this month
I would think soon! We, as well as user Guigui&Arlee, filed the same time as you, and we both got appointments for July 24th!
-
We received our biometrics appointment letter in the mail yesterday... appointment is scheduled for the 24th!
-
Sent our package in on June 26th! So pretty much a July filer! Woo-hoo!

Hi Lauren and Kevin,
Did you have any boxes ticked in the Results section? We are filling out our forms now and our DS-3025 has nothing marked under results... just want to make sure that's normal!
-
The wife and I are getting ready to submit our AOS, and when looking at the DS-3025, we noticed that there are no boxes checked under the Results section. She has all of her shots (has proof of payment and proof of vaccinations she received at her medical).... but the section was just not filled out by the physician. Can we send this in? Or are we going to get screwed with an RFE and have to see a civil surgeon? Please help!

Hi all!
We received our NOA2 December 22, and have been calling the NVC every couple of days to try and get our new case number, but no luck so far.
My fiancee has been granted approval from her company to take an absence from February 1st-April 31st. Before we got her approval, we were planning on her coming to the states and to stay with me for those three months. However, now we are a bit nervous about the timing of everything and the expiration date on our NOA2, which is April 19th.
Is it reasonable to have my fiancee come February-early April? We were thinking that we do her medical before she comes, or if not able, to schedule her medical in April. I have read that it is "okay" for an NAO to expire and that the embassy will extend the period. We will of course have all of our other paperwork completed and then just submit our "Ready for Interview" paperwork in April (have her interview in May or June then), when she will be back in her home country.
Let me know what your thoughts are. I would love for her to be able to stay as long as she possibly can during her approved time off.
-
I've been calling NVC every day like a madwoman... I can't help it, I just want to get started with the next step! Our ultimate goal is to have everything approved and her here by the 19th of February so that we can spend our anniversary together. Any thoughts on the chances of that happening? I know they're slim but hoping it can happen...
Wishing everyone the best as we all continue to cross our fingers!
-
We got our NOA2 today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect timing as I'm about to catch a flight tomorrow to spend the holidays with her!

Hey all,
I usually don't post here, but today something happened and I wanted to check with everyone else before I call USCIS. I'm trying not to overthink things.
It's been two months and we still haven't received our NAO2, which I understand. I've been veeeery patient with everything. I've even been fine with the USCIS website update which still shows our case as "error."
Because of the website not working, we've been using the automated phone system to check our status. Today when I tried to dial in, it said that our "status cannot be found." Is this something to worry about? Should I call and speak to a representative? Or should I continue to wait patiently? Argh. Please let me know if anyone has a similar situation!
-
Our check posted today! No NOA1 yet, or even email/text confirmation that they received our packet... but, funnily enough, I was HAPPY to see that the money was withdrawn from my account! I'm not usually happy to spend money but I am glad to know somehow that it actually arrived and has been touched!

We sent in our petition on Friday 10/4, and it arrived at USCIS today according to the postal service... anxiously waiting for confirmation from USCIS themselves! Good luck to all other October filers!
July 2015 AOS filers
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

Here is our timeline:
12 Aug 2015: EAD & AP Approved
17 Aug 2015: Approval Letter Received
18 Aug 2015: Card Mailed
20 Aug 2015: EAD/AP Card Received
25 Aug 2015: Left country for family wedding in the UK
07 Sep 2015: Successfully used AP to gain entrance back into US
It took us 8 days to receive card after approval, and 5 days after receiving we left the county and successfully re-entered two weeks later. We didn't have any problems at all, but were asked to show the EAD/AP card before leaving the country, before checking in on our return flight (the woman checking us in needed a little help realizing she could use S' A-number), and at immigration.
