we filed AOS 4/14/14 -- it is a long, drawn out process. did you get the NPIW? if so, are they still saying 6 month delay? assuming so, i would start 6 months and 1 day later! i like the old saying, squeaky wheel gets the grease! so, i would try every angle - not sure if it helps, here we are at one week shy of a year, so who knows - but it does feel better to vent and try something - good luck

I think it actually goes from your NOA 1 and the letter is irrelevant for this, no harm in trying is there?!?!

Is the start date the AOS filing date or the date of that the AOS got approved? Just wondering.... because if it would be the AOS filing date minus well preparing to apply in a few months for ROC.

Hi all, posted here a while ago and thought I'd check back in. Still no news on the green card, though I see I haven't been waiting as long as others! A few things:

My medical for K1 visa was on January 31st 2014. Will I need to redo my medical as it's been over a year?

I'm hoping it won't come to this, but how many months before the expiry of my EAD should I apply to renew it? I think it's 3 months but wanted to double check

It depends per field office whether you've to do over ur medical exam. I just wonder, are all of our applications still at the national benefits center in Missouri or will they be transferred to the local field office? Just wondering, because I saw on the USCIS website that the NBC in in Missouri right now is working on October 7th'14 applications whilst Los Angeles is still working on July 27th apps. Just wondering.......

Unfortunately not, they don't seem to care that some of us need to pay for another medical nor do they worry that we have to pay for petrol/gas to redo biometrics etc. Obviously we are ALL millionaires, I store my millions under the mattress, light the stove with a 100 dollar bill and when Im not at home I am on my yacht, not sure what everyone else done with theirs?!?! Yeah right....... In short the answer to your question is nope!

Maybe a silly question, but did anyone tried to expedite the AOS based upon the fact that their medical examination is about to expire?

Just wondering if it could be a valid reason for them to expedite your case. It would save us all some money:)

We received our NPIWC letter too. Another count down, or should we stop counting and just let it be, lol

Damm, we got to join the club. We received also a NPIWC letter, which means another long haul of uncertainty for six months . I can't believe this. When they are convinced that ur marriage is real and sincere, they even let u wait longer. There is something seriously wrong with this system. I did my medical exam in May so I think I am fine but I am so pissed that they let all of the others who did their medical exam after June doing it al over again and make them spending more money because of there straight forward case. If I knew this before hand, I never would have send out our pics and supportive evidences along with the app. There is something really wrong with USCIS one side thinking policies and sop's.

I am still waiting on a interview letter too. My filling date was October 23rd. I guess we all have to wait for a few more months. I called last week and they told me that the they currently are working on July 26th applications.

social security card received today. took 1 week 6days from when I applied to when I received it. Now can't wait for Monday to get here to apply for my drivers license, state ID.

After what it seemed like an eternity, finally my wife's EAD was approved today!

Hi guys, We just got a notification from USCIS saying that the interview notice was mailed to us today and the interview date is March 11th. Our case was accepted on October 2nd last year, so it looks like the New York City office has started scheduling October 2014 filers. Not sure what the processing time for other field offices are but,looks like 5 plus months for NYC.

I used the CA DMV app from 2013. Its very old but you will get the same kind of questions but then in another setting.

It was very easy. Especially if you are used to those European drivers tests.

best thing to do is to review the questions on the app and the theory attached to it and you'll pass with an A.

Which DMV app did you use? I am yet to go for my knowledge test but I am hoping to go within the next 2 weeks

Jup I received it on Saturday

To all those who are located in CA and have already a foreign dl:

On Saturday I got my EAD.

Today I got my DL valid for two months which will be extended after I have completed the behind the wheel test.

I just walked in at the DMV office in Stanton CA. It took us 3 hours of waiting but we just took our ticket and went for a two hr lunch. This means I litterly can move forward without having completed already the behind the wheel test.

Make sure u study the dmv app cause questions look quite similar to it.

I received my EAD via USPS. It stated that it would take 2 days to deliver when the status changed to 'mailed'. It also stated 2 days while inwas tracking it too. Then suddenly it changed to 'out for delivery' and I received it that day (1 day early ). I believe it was sent from the Missouri location. Fingers crossed that yours will be in your hand real soon.

I have a hard time believing this because what denotes an easy or difficult case without researching it first? I think they get assigned to people and they get to them when they get to them. Our K1 case was fairly simple: no kids, never married, no criminal records, no red flags and it still took them almost 6 months. Again our AOS case is fairly simple and straight forward too, yet we are still waiting for any kind of notice now going on 4 months later.

I think that they just get to them when they get to them without any rhyme or reason unless you are expedited for some reason. Just my take on it))

Hi Foxxy, welcome back to the USA. Was it easy to get back in with only a EAD/AP combo card?
