Corret me if I am wrong but I read somewhere on this forum that whether you get CR-1 or IR-1 depends how long you have been married to the beneficiary when entering US. If you have been married for less than 2 years when entering US, you get CR-1. If you have been married for more than 2 years, you will be issued IR-1.

Additionally, CR-1 is valid for 2 years while IR-1 is valid for 10 years.

yes that's correct as I said on top we will have 2yrs and 2months by then and he will get the IR1

What do you mean by "start the process"? Can you be more specific please.

When you start the process meaning when you start with uscis when you send out all your paper to start your application

I would like to know what should I do at the POE when I get there and also my husband got a CR1 visa but when we enter USA we will have 2yrs and 2months of marriage should we tell the officer that or will they know it once we hand them the paper work so they can change it to a IR1?

Are u CR-1 or K-1 ?

A CR1 but when we get there I think it will be the IR1 since we will have 2yrs and 2months of marriage

My Husband and I had our interview on 3/26 he was Approved his visa was issued on 3/30 and we picked it up on 4/1 we will be leaving to the USA on 4/10 I will keep you posted

Interview on 3/26 visa issued on 3/30 picked up on 4/2

Don't pay attention to that website.Only follow the instructions they gave you on the paper after approval.It took ours 5 days until it updated but then once it did it was there the next day.If it helps,I tried checking the CEAC page to and it changed to issued on Monday and we got our visa Thursday.Hope that helps a little...

I have a question probably one of you can help me my husbands Visa was approved on 3/26 on the Ceac website it stated it was on AP then I checked the website on 3/30 it changed to Issued what should I do next should I call them or will they contact us once it's ready for pick up?

DR pickup and delivery is totally different from everyone elses. DR has a whole new system. You need to check your countries website.

Visa issued same day? No If not whats the waiting period? 1 - 3 weeks, depending on location. Delivered by courier service. Or you can schedule to pick it up from designated location.

Go to ustraveldocs.com and check wich it is your status there, if at ustraveldocs.com say that your passport is ready for pick up them is time to go to pick up.

Yes you can bring her diaper bag even the stroller if you want any one with babies or kids they will let them in first then anyone online I was there last Thursday and there was a special line just for people with kids

Some peoole get the passport quick others need wait.

My counsine's husband got his passport after a month, but i have seen people here who get passport in 3 days.

The status changed to issue yesterday what should we do now? Will they send me an email to let me know when it's ready for pick up or do I have to call them?

I got my visa! But now ELIS won't let me pay the fee. What the eff! I added the 0 in the alien number and it says if my visa was issued <5 days ago I need to try later. But I need to pay it before I get to POE which is Wednesday morning... :|
