Hi Gakkykiba,
please I just went through your timeline and I observed that you received a 2 year conditional green card in 2009 and by year 2010, you became a US citizen after removing the conditions on the green card.
so my questions are
what qualifies one for a 2 year conditional GC?
After removing the conditions on the GC, is the person going to get a 10 year GC?
Did you get become a US citizen because your husband naturalized at that time.
thanks for your kind reply.

There won't be a quick approval - you'll still have to wait for the visa number to become available - around 2 yr wait currently.

Hi everyone, my husband and I received the welcome letter and AOS invoice dated 4th of August.

Please what is the difference between me n my partner as agent? R dey referring to the person who can contact NVC or fill d forms
-
It is very compulsory that you choose an agent. An agent could be you, your partner or lawyer.

Also, since AOS package is for the petitioner (that is hubby living in the USA) and IV package requires my information (beneficiary) , and I am living in Nigeria, does that mean we can send both packages separately to NVC?
-
I also want to ask at what point is the beneficiary required to send the IV package (which is to contain police report). Please can anyone tell how soon that can be from the time the welcome letter is sent. The reason is that I have lived outside my home country for more than 6 months and and would like to know when to start processing my police certificate from that country. I would not like it to cause a delay in my case becoming complete.
PD. Aug, 2014.
By the way, pls are there any other guys with PD Aug 2014 in the house?
-
Hi guys,
Please is it when you get welcome letter that I would fill DS261 and DS260. before the AOS and IV is invoiced.....
-
Congratulations Nkkystel.....so happy for you. You are getting closer and closer everyday.
@ Nkkystel...please is it complusory to choose an agent for NVC stage? What if you would be the one doing the processes by yourself. What option would that be or what would one fill there.

Hi everyone, hubby got WELCOME LETTER today by 10am.
Congratulations Nkkystel.....so happy for you. You are getting closer and closer everyday.

I think it means that someone with ctober 2014 PD has gotten welcome letter while quite a number of July 2014, lots of August 2014 and September 2014 are yet to get welcome letter.
However, does issue of welcome letter have to do with individual countries and allocated visas or the work of NVC and the USA alone.
-
@ Rian Treasures, a derivative visa is getting a visa through another applicant, as provided under immigration law for certain visa categories.
Derivative visa is only possible if the principal applicant is issued a visa.
Your case is at NVC now contact them. Also, make sure you contact Nigerian Embassy when you are current.
@ Nkkystel, Okay then....would contact NVC
I just read this

Hi Rian! sorry for the late reply, I've been away for a while now. Contact NVC with the birth certificate and request for the addition of the baby to the mother's petition. The child is eligible to for a derivative visa.
Still, ask your hubby to call NVC.
Thanks Nkkystel, Please what is a derivative visa? is it the same as the green card that I would be getting or an entry visa?
thanks again
-
Sorry if it s because you want to add a new born if I were you I send birth certificate which ever step Iam and call NVC.
Thanks Lera66, I would call NVC. still awaiting welcome letter though....

Hi guys (Nkkystel, Lera66 and others), I asked a question since 2 days ago. Wondering if you have the answer or know how I can find the answer.
Thanks

Hi guys,
Please I have a question....
At what point can you add your child to your F2A application if the child was not added before now. Is it before NVC sends you welcome letter or at the stage of filling the DS-261 form.
thanks for the help

Lol now i am considering spanish as extra language. Yea i know how you feel about the PD issue. If you look at my signature you would have an idea of how pained i was when the retrogression hit last year. I mean, i was just a day away from being current and for about 6 or 8 months the Current date never changed. When it finally changed, it was a retrogression...poof! Then it started moving again slowly till now that my PD became current. 80 percent of the people i met on this thread have long migrated and probably forgotten about this forum. One key thing is to understand that, definitely, your turn will come!
When is your PD?
Wow....so got hit by retrogression with a one day delay. hmnn....It must have been a nightmare. Anyway, thank God it is almost over now for you. My PD is august 2014.
Thanks for the encouragement.
