Good morning all, hoping for the best for all interviews this week.

I had my biometrics done 3 weeks ago and no updates to my cases ever since. I've changed the last 2 digits of my case receipt number when on my uscis to check the status of previous cases to estimate when they will be processing my case. Approx 2 weeks ago the last processed case was 38 and now the last processed one was 39. So it looks like it's taking quite a while to process one case. Would it be because everybody with the diversity visa is getting processed as of 1 October too? It seems to go slower than for people who applied before the end of September.

Nothing for me either. It will be a month since bio for me. I think it's a combination of data renewals and holiday season, so they are a bit overloaded. I was hoping to process my case before the holiday season sets in, but I guess nothing won't happen until the new year. Let the wait continue............

The EAD is different from the green card in that it can be renewed 120 days before expiring instead of 90.

Thankfully my question is now moot, as we received notification today that USCIS ordered card production. Case approved!

Never mind media, if media predicted everything in this world we would be dead by now...The same reason the illegal person wants to adjust to US is the same reason the legal person wants to adjust his/her status. USA country is the land of the free, belongs to the Indians so everyone should be allowed to live ideally. Almost everyone migrated here for a reason. Let us wish them the very best too. RFE is currently making cases late by 2 months that is 60 days. They should tell you on the website when they will give a response. Hope things will get better for you soon, it can get tough depending on 1 income.

Yes you must submit copy of birth certificate. Make sure to obtain an updated birth certificate. Passport is not sufficient.

I got my roommate a job there so most of the time we can carpool. If not I can just take the bus. When I get my GC then I'll apply for drivers license

hi..I just found this group because there´s another september 2014 filers group I´ve gotten an RFE on october 24th for further tax info of my co-sponsor and this morning I checked my status and it jumped to RFE again...I´m so so sad. not that I desperately need my EAD, but also my AP, to be able to see my family for my grandmas 90th birthday in december..(flight is already booked because its over x-mas and the prices are horrible).

I guess my chances for an approval before that are pretty bad now

Aww sorry to hear miss dynamite. I suggest after you respond to your rfe, you should make an expedite request stating that you have your grandmothers bday to attend and fax copies of flight tickets as evidence. I would think thats a great reason to expedite your ap/ead. It wont hurt to try either.

Hello! Im sorry you are experiencing this nightmare especially at a time when the office is closed. My advice is hang on tight to the approval letter. It may be an inadvertent mix up between cases. I mean how can they approve you then revoke it a few days later? Sounds to me like they're may be a mix up with someone elses case. I called the other day and asked why did I receive a text stating the alien registration number changed. Well a service request was made and two days later I received an email that they accidentally assigned my husband an a# which belonged to someone else so once they noticed the error they corrected it. So anything is possible. Try to relax a little until you can get some answers on Monday. From what you described, you guys sent in sufficient proof. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your dilemma, but you should seek an attorney. Your case can be approved, you just have to fight for it. Only an attorney can give you the advice that you need. Keep positive. I had a similar case, I had my proceedings terminated now I am adjusting so it's possible. Don't give up keep fighting.

you should have requested an expedite with your job offer letter. From what im reading on the forums, they will likely approve your request if you have a job offer.

Hi....Getting a little worried. My wife mailed her AOS pacakage (I-485, I-131, I-765) on 10/17 and was signed off on 10/20. It's been over a week and we have not received any NOA1. They haven't even cashed the check. Is this the norm for this Chicago Lockbox?

NOA 1 takes a little time to process. If you call now they will tell you to wait 30 days. If you signed up for email/text notifications then you will receive receipt numbers, so you can check on their website. The NOA 1 letters takes about two weeks to receive give or take. i know this is stressful and it takes alot of patience.

Hi, I'm applying for my I-485 and have a Misdemeanor charge from 2009 - Criminal Damage to Property under $500 - this was expunged in 2013. I pled no contest to this charge whilst on an F1 student visa. It didn't seem to make a difference when my company applied for an H1b in June 2012 as I sailed through the process with no problems.

Now, do you think this will be an issue with my 485 and do I just provide an official copy of the expungement per the instructions under "Initial Evidence Part 1.D."

Yes you provide expungement letter and get a court disposition also answer yes to the arrested box. Hope that helps.

Just got the biometrics letter for me and ny sin today we have an Alien # but nothing else...the receipt field is blank.

I mean someone need to work on our case or we dont would get the letter. But its weird that they told us today on the phone we are not in the system and they start an investigation ...

You should call uscis and speak with a tier 2 officer and request an info pass to speak directly to an officer at your local office to know exactly what is happening with your case. I hope you hear good news soon.
