It seems anyone can file online unless you are doing a fee waiver and something else, I forget- but checking box E and saying other with the ina code you referred to above should be allowed to file online. I know of some people on here who did the n400 based on the vawa but they all filed in mail cause online wasnt out yet. Dont know anyone doing this currently on VJ..

I did see a lot of mention online about recommending to send a statement with your n400 saying how you were eligible and to include specific memos (if you want the memo links) So it seems USCIS is having some difficulty knowing how to accept these still. If you mail- you would mail based on where you live- theres no special instruction to send to Vermont. You may just have to wait and see if you get the packet back (so I guess an electronic rejection?) or if it takes a bit but gets accepted.

I’m getting ready to file N-400 based on VAWA and I certainly will be applying for a fee waiver.

I can apply 3 months to my 3 years of residency. October is the best month to file  so I’ll be filing next month.

i need to make sure my taxes owed are resolved to avoid any issues.

It is already approved in the name of Jesus Christ.

  2. Hello everyone,

I am new to the community, but I have used your help extensively while filling for my I-130.

I am a current high school student at a boarding school in New Hampshire on F-1 status. My mother is a U.S. citizen and I am under 21, unmarried. We filled my I-485 application last month which was accepted by the USCIS on April 16, 2015. However, the problem stems in the fact that I will lose an upcoming $100,000+ college scholarship if I do not adjust my status before the fall term (September 2015) commences. So to avoid that we contacted Senator Shaheen's office in New Hampshire which was very helpful in communicating with the USCIS. They scheduled me for fingerprinting on April 22nd which I completed.

However, yesteday I received an email from the office in response to my application. After they spoke with the congressional liason, they were told that my applications are going through "front-end processing at NBC to determine prima facie eligibility and undergo initial background checks," upon whose completion I may file for expedite. I was also told to check up on the case in 30 days to determine if they are complete.

Now I assume that these front end processings are the FBI name/background check. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the expedition of I-485 and if you did how long did it take for these to complete. Also, do you have any suggestions on how should I proceed at this moment.

    Thank you very much.

Congrats on your impending scholarship for the fall 2015.

Which school are you attending in NH? Dartmouth?

    What will you be studying?

    I'm requesting expedited I-485 processing.

They responded back to me in about a week.

I just need to submit documentation.

    I'll be praying for yours.

    All the best.

  4. Hi,

I've paid my fee and I'm currently waiting for my Permanent Resident Card to be sent. I have my temporary permanent resident stamp in my passport but my potential employer who I have a job offer from are saying that I won't be able to be employed until I get the actual Permanent Resident Card as they require a photocopy of the front and back of it. This seems very unfair, is there anything I can do about this?

    Thanks

It's illegal for the employer to deny you employment.

Once you have the approved and stamped I-551 in your passport you are eligible for employment.

If this employer does participate in eVerify you can have them verify your employment eligibility.

You can also raise the issue of legality and threaten to sue them... this should get them moving pretty fast!

The Human Resource person at your future employer just doesn't know the law.

    Good luck
