Can one travel to other countries besides the initial country for which the Advanced Parole was issued for?
For example: I apply for approved AP to travel to Ghana, can I later travel to Jamaica or Canada while AP is still valid?

Hello everyone,
I am new to the community, but I have used your help extensively while filling for my I-130.
I am a current high school student at a boarding school in New Hampshire on F-1 status. My mother is a U.S. citizen and I am under 21, unmarried. We filled my I-485 application last month which was accepted by the USCIS on April 16, 2015. However, the problem stems in the fact that I will lose an upcoming $100,000+ college scholarship if I do not adjust my status before the fall term (September 2015) commences. So to avoid that we contacted Senator Shaheen's office in New Hampshire which was very helpful in communicating with the USCIS. They scheduled me for fingerprinting on April 22nd which I completed.
However, yesteday I received an email from the office in response to my application. After they spoke with the congressional liason, they were told that my applications are going through "front-end processing at NBC to determine prima facie eligibility and undergo initial background checks," upon whose completion I may file for expedite. I was also told to check up on the case in 30 days to determine if they are complete.
Now I assume that these front end processings are the FBI name/background check. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the expedition of I-485 and if you did how long did it take for these to complete. Also, do you have any suggestions on how should I proceed at this moment.
Thank you very much.
Congrats on your impending scholarship for the fall 2015.
Which school are you attending in NH? Dartmouth?
What will you be studying?
I'm requesting expedited I-485 processing.
They responded back to me in about a week.
I just need to submit documentation.
I'll be praying for yours.
All the best.

My husband went for his interview on August 13.. He said they were called in around 8 am. The appointment was at 730. He was called around 9 to summit all his documents and evidence that he had with him... He had phone records from 2013 till date .. All our numbers highlighted , about 10 birthday and Christmas cards we sent each other with the envelops, one album of pictures of us since 2003 till date , our traditional and white wedding pictures with friends and family in another album, my boarding passes in another envelop and an invitation card of our white wedding. Basically that was all that we had.. We didn't have any text messages or emails bcos we just didn't have any ... Around 11am My husband was called for the interview .. He was actually interviewed by the lady with the initials KM.?? .. My husband said the lady was very nice..lol .. I know .. I was shocked ... The interview started . Q1-what's your wife's name ?Q2- what does she do? Q3- where did you meet ? What year ?Q4- why did it take you so long to get married?Q5- the name of your wife's church and pastor 's name? LoL ???.. Q6- how long does it take your wife to drive to work ? Q7- does your wife have siblings? And how many ? Q8- how may times has she been to Ghana since she traveled? I think that was it .. My husband couldn't answer two questions but she was fine with it .. She finally said ok.. Everything looks good .. Congratulations .. You can pick up your visa next week .. She pulled the blue magic paper ??.. Finally !! God is good !!!! We thank God for his favor.. Thank you all VJ members for all the help and encouragement .. It's been a long journey but it's all worth it !!!! All those waiting or going for interviews in Accra Ghana .. Pls stay positive and have faith in God .. And pls be well organized and honest with the consular.. My husband wasn't able to answer two question but she was fine with it.. Good luck to everyone and I hope my review will help someone out there .
Congratulations!!!!

Hi,
I've paid my fee and I'm currently waiting for my Permanent Resident Card to be sent. I have my temporary permanent resident stamp in my passport but my potential employer who I have a job offer from are saying that I won't be able to be employed until I get the actual Permanent Resident Card as they require a photocopy of the front and back of it. This seems very unfair, is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks
It's illegal for the employer to deny you employment.
Once you have the approved and stamped I-551 in your passport you are eligible for employment.
If this employer does participate in eVerify you can have them verify your employment eligibility.
You can also raise the issue of legality and threaten to sue them... this should get them moving pretty fast!
The Human Resource person at your future employer just doesn't know the law.
Good luck

I’m getting ready to file N-400 based on VAWA and I certainly will be applying for a fee waiver.
I can apply 3 months to my 3 years of residency. October is the best month to file so I’ll be filing next month.
i need to make sure my taxes owed are resolved to avoid any issues.
It is already approved in the name of Jesus Christ.
