Yeah just send it back to the address from which the letter came. Your ceremony letter will be mailed out from the Newark office and it will have the address on the top of the letter somewhere so you basically just send the letter back with your explanation.

I just said unfortunately I will be out of the country during my scheduled oath ceremony so please reschedule on any day except on the dates below and then i put 2 date ranges from now until the end of the year where I thought that i might take some vacation just in case. Any date that you think you might not be available for the ceremony just put it down in the letter just in case.

I did. N400 is an electronic application so they can approve everything on the spot since everything is in the system. the i751 will be a huge pile of paper in front of the immigration officer. I was approved on the spot but the officer said that he will need some extra time to "process" the approval of the i751 because it's a paper application and "there are some extra things" he has to do.

It took a little less than a month before I got the notification of the approval notice for the N400 and the i751 and then 1 week after that I got the notification for the oath ceremony and then once you get the electronic notification for the oath ceremony that probably means that your ceremony is scheduled for 3 weeks from that date. Check my signature and good luck!

My original oath ceremony was on September 5th but I had to change due to travel. I didn't know which of the two dates to put below so I put the date that I actually attended the ceremony

Got my letter .. September 9 lol .. I'll be in Cyprus.. I'm going to send the letter back with request to reschedule and hopefully they don't take a long time to reschedule :/

Basically the letter never showed up online and when I inquired with them they told me there’s a technical issue causing my oath letter to not be showing up online .. go figure.. that’s all they were able to tell me so now I’m waiting for the letter to be delivered at home ..

I've seen people where the oath was schedule 3 weeks from mailing date :S In any case.. I'm cutting it very, very, very close lol .. Hopefully the letter should show up online by tomorrow morning as usual so by tomorrow I will probably know.

So seems like USCIS screwed me up pretty good. I haven't travelled outside the US at all in the past year. I booked a very important trip from August 30th to September 20th and I just got notification now that my "Oath Ceremony Notice was Mailed".. this basically means that 99% sure my oath ceremony is scheduled on the days when I will be out of the country. 

So now if I try to reschedule I will go to the back of the queue and will probably have to wait for months until they decide to reschedule.. urgh.

My god... I'm now stuck in the waiting game for oath to be scheduled even though there are always same day ceremonies at Newark  Anyone knows if I can just walk in?

Travelling on August 30th so if they give me a date before that I can go to the NYC Passport office and get a same day passport.. But without a date from USCIS yet there's nothing I can do  

Anyone knows if there's a way to request an expedited oath ceremony? My local office does same day oath ceremonies but since my IO had to manually approve my I751 he said I will receive my oath date by mail.. However, it took him a month to process everything and now I'm "in line for oath" and I'm travelling in 2 weeks time  

It beats me that Newark does same day interview and oath ceremonies but I have to wait for my oath to be scheduled.

Anyone knows if anyone "walked in" for an oath or was successful in getting an Oath Ceremony expedited due to travel?

PIN number is shown on the infopass confirmation screen and it clearly "this is the only time we will provide you with your Personal Identification Number (PIN) - Keep your PIN and confirmation letter in a safe place in case you have to reschedule or cancel your appointment". I usually just take a photo of it so that I can always find it on my phone 😕

I had a combo N400/i751 interview. The officer said:

So he said I should expect an approval for both cases very soon and the approval for N400 came yesterday and for i751 came today. It's really annoying when you have an interview at Newark and everything goes great and you hope you will become a citizen on the same day and then this happens but it is what it is.

So since I wasn't send to take the oath the same day I now have to wait for the oath to be "scheduled" 😕

Hey guys, ROC approved one day after my N400 got approved. Had a combo interview at Newark on July 11. The interview didn't even say that it will be a combo interview like other people mentioned, but I went prepared with my wife just in case. When I gave my name at reception they picked up a HUGE stack of papers bound together and that's why I knew this probably includes my ROC application.. no way my N400 file was that thick especially given the fact that all N400 applications are now electronic

I can't postpone my trip :S and we are leaving on August 31st.. We have our daughter's baptism in Europe so I'm gonna have to  go and find a way to reschedule the oath ceremony :S Even if they do 3 weeks from now we should be good.. 4 weeks is a problem though 😕 I'm gonna try and stay positive lol.

Hey guys, just got approved from Newark with combo I751. My current status says Oath Ceremony will be scheduled. Any idea how long they take them to schedule it? I'll be out of the country at the end of August so I wonder if I'm gonna have to reschedule :S

Hey guys, just got approved  Got the notification saying oath ceremony will be scheduled. I wonder if they schedule them one month ahead like the biometrics.. in that case I'm screwed cause I will be out of the country :S

Case transferred to NBC on May 3rd and interview noticed mailed May 30th

Same here .. I applied as soon as I could. My immigration officer was like “couldn’t you have waited a bit longer to apply?” Cause he had to update so many things lol.. but I was very tempted to say that if I haven’t applied for N400 I don’t think my i751 would have been processed by now and then I would still have had to wait longer to get my citizenship which at the end of the day is all that matters. I think at the end of the day applying as soon as possible for N400 is the best thing you can do if that’s your end goal

I applied for i751 in December 2016 but I don’t think it would have been processed if it wasn’t for my N400 interview coming up now. 

The officer initially told me I did good bringing my wife with me and he will call her in later to process the i751 but at the end of my interview he said I don’t need to bring her in I have faith in the marriage because you have a baby born in the marriage and he also saw the other documents I had with me like lease contracts, insurance cards etc. He said he will see my wife on the way out so he came and told her hi and sorry for keeping me so long. I think he just had to see her for logistical reasons like so he could say “his wife and baby were here with him”

He selected a decision cannot he made but he made it very clear to me that everything is perfect and he will be approving both applications. He just said that because the I751 is not electronic like the N400 there some things he needs to do to process the approval and it’s not instant like the N400. Once that’s done he said he will send me an oath letter to come back and I should be expecting that very very soon..
