  1. I can't speak to CR-1/IR-1 but the K1 process was easy for my 17 & 20yr old stepsons. They just asked one about his birthday since he had got a year older since the original app was filled out. The boys then went and sat down while their mother was interviewed. They are on a plane from Nairobi to Seattle as I type this! Best wishes!

  2. Thank you so much Nordlandcc, that is helpful and I will let him try that come Monday 04/27/2015

    Thanks again

If your friend from Uganda has any questions he can hit me up via email. My Lugandan is very rough! Haven't been there in over 25 years!! LOL

  3. I need some help. My friend from Uganda have been trying to scheduled an appointment with IOM for the last three weeks in vein. He emailed several times and they do not mail back except once when he was asking requirements (meaning the email he is using is correct). He called several times and they never pickup return the voice mail he leaves them (sick!). What other ways can he reach these seemingly unreachable important people. A walk in their office is out of the way because he is 700 km away. His interview date is fast approaching.

    He uses email: iomnbomedical@iom.int

    and tele: 0207221000, +254717718491

    Can anyone help?

IOM Nairobi Migration Health Assessment Centre <iomnbomedical@iom.int> His email address is right.

Have him ask for Lydia. She is very helpful. This is the email signature from her emails to me.

  4. No way! Someone's lying to you. Your fiance said she paid 1100 dollars for vaccines 4 week ago? And now she needs 400 more for more shots. Someone is getting robbed here and I think it's you. Sorry but I have a feeling you're being scammed. Hope not. Have you seen these documents from the US Government or are you simply being told this information. Something is fishy here. Good luck.

It is from the IOM in Nairobi. That doesn't seem right. If they had traveled before the 4 weeks they wouldn't have even got the 2nd dose in Kenya!!

  5. We had an RFE which pushed my fiance' passed the 4 week mark. The IOM says she and her boys now need to come in for the 2nd dose of 1 or 2 vaccines. They are wanting her to pay over $400 again (after paying $1,100 four weeks ago). Does this sound right?

  6. Hi,

This is very interesting for me that you have posted this....I am just about to send a request for PCC in Qatar. The website suggests a two week wait....but knowing Qatar this seemed a little unrealistic.

I'm sorry for you that you've heard nothing since December. This makes me wonder whether to get someone there to do it for me also!

I'm not sure why sending another request would cause any problems.

Did you receive any notice from Qatar that they have received it?

    Thanks and good luck!

    Tyler,

We submitted our first request via the Qatar Embassy in Kenya back in December. Having since spoken with people around the world, going through an Embassy takes much longer (3-4 months). I would highly recommend using either a service or an individual. I do have a name if you need one?

  7. Hello,

My Fiance' and her children went for their interview today. We knew there might be a problem with a police report we have been waiting for since December, and there was. However, what I was afraid of came to pass. I have had some financial struggles (filed Chapter 7 in 2011, paid off State Unemployment issue, still owe taxes from 2011-2013) I do make over $80k a year so I thought the income would be enough. They are now asking for 2013 Tax Return (no big deal) but they mentioned something about a Co-Sponsor and "clearance of financial obligations and ability to support beneficiaries".

    My questions are:

    1. Is a parent who has their own financial struggles but makes over $100k (and little cash in bank) better than an Aunt or friend who has more cash in bank but might make less or more?

    2. How would you interpret "clearance of financial obligations". Does that mean I can't have a car loan, or a personal loan (both total less than $12k) or how else would I prove that I can support them?

Please Help!! Thank you so much in advance!!!

  8. Does anybody know if the Nairobi IOM will make my fiance and her kids get vaccines again if we try and do them elsewhere first and have them put on their WHO card? Her eldest hates needles and I really don't want to pay 2 times!

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

  9. hello,

we seem to be in a bind here and am wondering if anyone encountered a similar problem.

My fiance has her surname from birth from her dad. she has a child but was not married to the biological father. The child bears another name

different to hers. When we try to use the csc website to register her and the child as k1 k2 the system will generate a reference id# for the mother

but will not allow the child to be added as a family member since he doesn't carry the same surname. this is for nairobi kenya embassy.

i need them to be registered together so they can interview together, since he is only a minor. so confused and upset about this situation.

if he registers as primary applicant the system will accept but there is no space provided to say he is a k2 and not a k1.

The site says put information exactly as in the passport...so now what??

If anyone has had this happen before and got it resolved please help.. thank you all very much Ricciardo

    Hi Ricciardo,

My fiance just submitted our 3 DS-160's. One for her and her 2 boys. They have different Surnames but same father. She said she had no problems. The child (or mother) still must fill out the application. So 1 for mom and 1 for child. There is a drop down menu where you can say he is a K2 and then it will ask for the Principal (parents) Applicants Name. This is where you put Mom's name. The name shouldn't matter.

  11. Kolenoiwik31

today went well tomorrow i will be going for the second day and get results, praying to God that eveeyrhing is fine.......

my interview is scheduled for Dec 9TH.......

    anf what's a CC?

hahaha sorry for the many typo's

Can I confirm that we are to pay the MRV Payment after filling out the DS-160 but before scheduling an appointment? My fiance called the help line and they told her to wait, but I said we shouldn't wait, she should go to Post Bank and pay and get the receipt number then schedule the appointment. (Did you schedule your appointment online or on the phone? Which number did you call? When did you find out about your medical exam and how far are appointments being scheduled out?

  12. It happens, AP. The best way to find out when it had been sent on is to call them. We were not notified once AP ended. The only way we found out was by asking.

    cdneh,

I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!! Our case looks like it was sent to Nairobi yesterday as the website says Ready and that we can schedule our interview now!!!! My kids and fiance prayed yesterday that this would be expedited!!! God answers prayers!!!

  13. The case number will tell you when they entered into their system. After the 3 letter code for the embassy, there is a 4 digit code for the year, then a 3 digit code for the Julian date (plus 500). Take those 3 digits, subtract 500, and then look here for the actual day: http://www.fs.fed.us/fire/partners/fepp/julian-calendar.pdf

If you ask them on the phone, they will tell you what day they received the petition.

    Pianist27,

Thank you so much for the info!!! So the fact they received my case on Jan. 13th and still haven't sent it on isn't too crazy in your opinion?

    Kevin

  14. Hello, I spoke with NVC on 1/14/2015 (and was given case #) after receiving NOA2 on 12/17. We have been stuck at NVC since??(how do I know exactly when they received our case)? Does anyone have advice for trying to figure out where our case stands? I have spoken with them 4 times and each time they have said it was in AP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I thought I read in an earlier post that some had their cases sent to their particular embassy without being notified. If that happens, would the Embassy reach out to the Beneficiary automatically?

  15. try checking early in the morning or in the afternoon at around 1pm and 3pm that time seems to be pretty easy to get availbale dates...........wish you all the best.....

i have my interview tomorrow.....so anxious, nervous ,wondering what will happen but surrendering everything to God.....

    WISH ME LUCK

when i was booking my apppintment.....there were so many available dates for December but there were NO slots in January yet.......

    keep checking though

Have you had any luck booking your January appointment? We are waiting to hear the NVC sent our case to the embassy.
