  1. As a same-sex couple we are preparing for the interview stage now and do not feel as if we're treated differently. You should not be either. As long as you have all the evidence of your relationship things should go very well. Your approval was quick. The next steps will be quicker. We actually received our instructions from the US Embassy in Stockholm by email before we received formal notice from the NVC that our file was sent to the Embassy. That was a fast and happy surprise. All the best in your process.

  2. Hi Ralph and Patrick, it's great to see another same sex couple going through the process. My Filipino fiance and I have waited since 2008 for this opportunity and we are now at the medical and interview stages. After so long and now so close it is a wonderful feeling. Soon you will be at theses same steps and then sharing your lives together as a married couple. Thanks for the video also. We realized during our visa process we had few pictures together because either I was taking his or him mine. Then came the computer crash and unrecoverable data/photos. Wish there were readily accessible cloud drives then hehe. Fortunately we had plenty of other proof. All the best in your next steps to happiness.

  3. We are working through our lawyer, but waiting on a confirmation for the medical exam appointment in Oslo, submitting the DS-160, and will be scheduling the interview at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm. Affidavit of Support also completed. Everything looking good at this point for Christmas holidays together. Hope all you other July filers are progressing just as well.

  4. We received our NOA2 on October 8, 2014. On October 29, 2014 I received an email from the US Embassy in Stockholm that they have received our approved petition from the NVC and instructions/checklist for the next steps. Hooray! On Saturday Nov 1, 2014 I received a letter from the NVC that they have sent my petition to the US Embassy in Stockholm. Great news but I already knew that because of the email from the Embassy. We are Skyping with our lawyer this week to review our next steps and move forward with scheduling the medical exam and interview. Hang in their everyone, sometimes it looks like things just happen and not necessarily in order. Then enjoy the happy surprises like the Embassy email as we did. :goofy:

  5. We understand the timeline process and the tentativeness of projections in moving through the steps. We've been a couple since 2008 and engaged for a year now so we've learned to be patient. Until a year ago as a same-sex couple we never thought this possible. We are happy for each day that brings us closer to the day we can get married, one month or six months or more is no issue for us. The end goal for our life together is closer than ever. And that keeps hope alive. Hang in there everyone.
