  1. Getting nervous for THE interview in 9 days... Do I need notarized copies of rent? I only have photocopies.

Got the original marriage certificate, birth certificates; going to bring ID's, passports, new appointment letter for work, and current pay stubs for me and hubby.

Also the photocopy of the whole AOS package and pictures (I did not submit any).

    Did I forget anything?

Have the lease notarized, and carry and bill you have together, even credit card bills, just more evidence if you have it.
  2. A question for those who have been approved and gotten their green cards already since the new website update.. How do you know when your actual card is mailed ? It doesn't say "card prodcution" like the last one, it just says my welcome notice was mailed. Does the card come with the welcome notice or is that coming first and then the card follows?

@lala1 blinkie had his mailed out with a tracking number on Friday. Please see page 71.
  3. So, my interview is right around the corner, and I'm confused on what to bring as proof of bona fide relationship

With my original packet I sent the following evidence:

    - marriage certificate

    - 2 sworn affidavits by friends/family

    - pictures

    - 3 months worth of joint account statements (not it is up to 8 months)

    - public service bill with both our names

    - copy of dental, health and prescription insurance with both our names

    - car insurance with both our names

    - Renter's insurance with both our names

    - power of attorney

    - Rental Agreement with both our names

So my question is: Should I take all the originals to the interview? And what about the affidavits that the originals were already sent?

Take all the originals, affidavits, bills etc. Take your lease if you have one or something that explains your living arrangement, tax return if you filed.
  4. Hey guys, just got back into town, the interview went well will post my review after this.

Interview was scheduled for 8:30, we arrived at 7:50, went through security and showed the gaurd our interview notice. He instructed us on where to place it. We got called in at 8:40ish and we got in the elevator to leave at 8:58. Hubs was concerned cause some people that came in later than we did had gone in to interview. Our IO called us and walked us in, told us to remain standing while we took the oath.

Next she asked to see ID,then we went over the I-485, my name, address, phone number, yes and no questions. She did the same thing with the I-130. After verifying the information in the forms, she asked if we had a lease, we provided a notarized copy, she asked if we had a copy for our records,we said no, and she said she would make a copy, I thought that was nice, cause I hear some IOs, have you go out of the building to make copies. She asked if we had more recent bills, I provided and told her that I also have our wedding album, she flipped through and I commented. I also gave her our bank and credit card statements, she didnt want them cause we had submitted previous copies, she took them though.

Then she asked about our relationship, where did we meet, when, how, how long did we date, where did we go to, when we got engaged, when and where we were married. When did my husband move in, when did we move to our current house and if we've always lived together since we were married.

We answered her questions accordingly and at the end she said it all looked good, and we should get the GC in 1 to 2 weeks, she also said the I-130 approval notice might come before or after the GC. She explained that the GC would invalidate the EAD, so to cut that in half when I get the GC. She also said to update my employer, I asked if I had to always carry it with me and she said to make a copy, and to try to always carry it, but that most people don't. At this point she started to walk us out and I asked if we would get the Conditional GC and she said yes, and said to send a lot of information, so we dont have to interview again. She also said that they usually mail a reminder 6 months before your conditional GC expiration date.

That's all folks, just waiting on the website updates.

She did npt take my I-94, or my H1B I-94.

  5. APPROVED!!! :dancing: :luv: :jest: IN 84 DAYS!!

Just got home after a long but painless day!!

We had an 11am appointment, we got there at 10 and was ushered to a room and told to sit facing room 8 and listen to be called. we waited and waited and waited approximately 12 couples in total were in the room we went in and saw some some arrived later at least 10 of them were "stokes interviews" One couple had the beneficiary in there for approximately 2 hours!! this is when we started to get worried...lol. at about 12 an IO came out and said those who are yet to be called come forward with your appointment letter I am like great we are gonna be tossed in a grab bag for whomever is available as interviews ahead of us was going extremely sLOOOW...whooo. 3of us went forward including me. 20 minutes later we get called in by a sweet middle age-ish lady, she was the only IO who had been pleasant the whole time we were there observing and I thought WOW grab bag lucked out. She started off by saying I love your ring!! I smiled and said Thatnk you, she said why blue, I said I love sapphires. She smiled swore us in and looked over our ids all the time chatting not questioning but like a talking to friend...very pleasant but she was sharp as a tack she covered every thing the important things but in a relaxed conversational way, and was even smiling and making small jokes along the way. She asked about joint bank account etc we told her I did not have a ss# and only got EAD a few days ago but when we leave here we are going to apply. She said don't bother "it is a waste of time" You should have your greencard in 10 days..whoa??? we joked somemore and she left to inquire if the I-864EZ was sufficient for us (2 of us no kids) and came back and said yes its ok. I gave her a few extra pics, because she didnt see the packet we had previously submitted with the picsbut latter found it in the back of our files stapled between two empty sheets. She asked about my arrest and verified it was only one but in a very nice way she said " I see your arrest it was a long time ago, and it is the only one right?" I said yes. I had submitted certified case dismissal document with application, as well as an explanation of said incident" She said ok...we chit chatted some more she apologized for the wait we had to endure, and wished us a happy lunch, as she excorted us out!! end of it..whoooo. I don't know if it matters but the first thing after swearing in that we did, was she gave us the form that outlined ROC procedure and had us sign it that we understood the greencard is temporary....just for background we are a lesbian couple, we have been together 5.5 years and got married 6 months ago... I am so glad it is over I can breathe. Good luck to all!! :goofy:

p.s after lunch we went to samsclub to do our grocery shopping and while there I got two text updates both for I-485 decision the card production (4hrs after interview)..I-130 still untouched as of 8/18 but she did tick thru it while we chatted.

    congratulations!!!!!
