Do we need to carry marriage photo album?

Shall I carry some 40 to 50 photo prints in an envelope?

It all depends, for few they didnt ask any extra documents. I carried my whole album and they didn't ask for it. Not even one single document. If you can carry your album its better to take it. If its too big, then take the photos. Photos which indicate all the rituals u performed during marriage. Not just snaps. Sometimes they used to validate the photos to confirm our marriage happened as per tradition. Such as Mangalsutra wearing pic.

Did we get interview letter by post from NVC. I didn't get it yet. They only send it through E-mail. My interview is on 16/oct.

All of us got only by EMAIL. So proceed with it.

Hello everyone by God's grace I completed my interview today at Mumbai... I am happy that my visa is approved...

15 months of sleepless nights and worries comes to an end...

Last night was so terrible that I cannot breathe properly because of mixed reviews about visa approval.

My interview time slot is 7.30 I reached at 6am and waited till seven until consular officer called us.

Stepped in and got all the fields scanned.

Note:no phones and electronic items allowed

Post security clearance got inside embassy and they gave us token according to our language preferences.

Tip:select native language coz I sawhim getting called immediately for language preferences. (i waited almost an hour as I chose English)

Then my number flashed on screen and I moved to the counter. She was a beautiful lady asked all my documents in order below

Passport

Ds260- given at ofc(biometric)

Photo pinned to Ds260

Pcc

Medical sealed packet

Marriage certificate original and xerox

Birth certificate original and xerox.

The officer collected all doc and asked me general questions as who applied and where I am going.

She then gave me domestic violence pamphlet and asked me to go through it as visa consular might ask

I waited for my turn again and read those information carefully

Number flashed and I stepped to the counter again.

Took oath

Very few basic questions and he took my left finger impressions again

He explained about domestic violence and harassment policies and told.me those magical words YOUR VISA IS APPROVED and gave me white sheet for the same.

I carried all documents to support but CO did not review.

How you pay for green card after interview? - They have given a form to do it, We can do it online. I will be doing it before I travel.

Is it paid at mumbai consulate? - No, they only give a paper with detail, and asked to pay before we leave.

Did they inform you when you can collect visa from document delivery location? - My Interview was on Monday morning 8.30, I came back to Chennai Wednesday early morning 1.00 AM by 11.00 AM got a message to pick up. I picked up the passport in Chennai by 2.00 PM Wednesday

Did you get any package from NVC before your interview? - No, NVC sent only the Interview letter. NVC will send the documents to Consulate, after the Interview once it is Approved then with the passport they will give the same package to us. We need to carry it with us and hand it over to Immigration officer in POE. This package contains everything we sent from Petition to Interview. Also they will return back the Additional Documents which they dont require from us.

I picked up the passport in two days.. I just came back to my city morning 1 AM, and by 11 AM I got a message that my passport is ready for pickup.

My Interview is in Mumbai, and I live in Chennai. Both Cities are far away from each other. I didn't expect this much quick response from US Consulate

Anyone who had an interview in September, have you got your passport & visa back yet? How long did it take after the interview? Already one week has passed, no notification.

I know one person who collected it in chennai in 6days.

There is nothing you need to pay in embassy. as you will be entered alone, if you have money it will be safe for you. I jus had 300, although hotel is walking distance.

I understand this thread is for CC but I have a question that would be answered more accurately here than any other thread.

I sent my documents(AOS/IV package) which were received by NVC August 24th. Then our agent from back home made my husband send original documents which were received September 1st(wrong step on agent's part, I feel he should have known this was not supposed to be done, now time is being wasted because of him, no point complaining now I guess). I am on the 29th day and no news so I called NVC to get an update as I have seen someone with a scan date of August 31st get approved in 21 days. So, anyhow, I was told that it might take up to October 15th to review the documents as there are two pieces of mail. The operator also said that if it's not reviewed by October 15th I can call again and get a supervisor to review it.

I wanted to know how that process works, if anyone is familiar with it. ( I saw somewhere that it might take anywhere from 1 week to 53 days for a supervisor review/CC). My question is what's my best bet, should i just wait or get a supervisor to review it after October 15th. I don't want to cause more delay. My wedding anniversary is January 1st and I am hoping my husband gets here before that.

as you are almost near to 30days from the last scan date, I would suggest you to talk to a supervisor. When u get connected to first level rep, ask them to connect you to a supervisor. A supervisor might help you better in this. You need to struggle a lot to talk to a supervisor. They will not be available all the time.

Gave me a white slip and told that it was denied.

Officer didn't asked more than 3/question . didn't saw any documents or photos or anything .. Handed me a white slip.

Does any of you know about the pre-clearance of POE in Abu Dhabi International Airport. I have read in one forum that we need to book the connecting flight based on that, as the pre clearance will take time. Also it seems mandatory. Do let me know if anyone knows about it. I was thinking abt taking Etihad.

Definitely I can answer to this.

Medical - Medical test done by Physician. This u need to find the hospital which is approved by US Consulate.

Biometrics - Finger prints and photographs taken at one of VAC - Visa Application Center of US Consulate. This u have to schedule using ustraveldocs.

Dont panic. VAC appointment is very simple.

Just create a login in the below website of US Travels. You need to provide your visa details, passport and location. Then it will automatically change your post to Mumbai. Then you need to do Category 1 appointment. It will help u to choose. You can select the date and time from there. Also based on your location it will list down the VAC offices, by default it will be Mumbai as our interview is in Mumbai. But you can select any one from the drop down chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. We can do biometric in any VACs.

VAC is open even on Saturday, Sundays So that is not a big deal.

In the VAC appointment they were asking to bring the medical reports, so we need to have medical done before that.

You can call them and book your appointment, this also can be done in chennai. Jus call them and book an appointment by giving your case number. They will tell the documents you need to bring for the Medical check up. In chennai its just two day process, we can get the reports in hand the second day. Cost will be 2500 for tests and vaccination can come around 10000 and that will be decided by the physician. They said that we can get the appointment only within ten days before interview,

To have these scheduled you dont need Interview Letter, we can have them booked early. But you will need the Interview letter when you go there.

refer the details I have given. You cant call and book for fingerprinting. You need to register and schedule it in the ustraveldocs website. You can do it figerprinting near your location. Else u can do a day before interview. Choice is yours.

i dont know what is wrong with nvc not been able tor receive doc this period, i sent in my british police certificate, since on the 24 of august, and called them on the 7th of septem and they said they did not receive any docum, so my wife had to resend it again on the 8th of sept and i called them on the 11th of sept they said they havent receive any doc yet again, 2times now, so am just ganna wait till 16th and call them back, but this time trust me am ganna be meannnnnn to themmm if they havent got any doc yet .. because its time killing and upsetting.. thanks guys pd date 28th july..

Now reading above I think its better for me to take VAC appoinment for biometrics at bombay itself

You can get biometrics a day before your interview. So it will be easy for you. You simply need to stay a day more in Mumbai.
