  1. Requesting any advice on our current situation:

Currently we are waiting to hear if our petition got approved (I-130 submitted in August 2014) and from there we will apply for my husbands CR-1 Visa. In the mean time, he has been pursuing a job opportunity in a territory of the US (Palau), but he hasn't been officially hired yet, nor has any paperwork gone thru on the employers side (as far as a work visa H1B/H2B). If he accepts the job opportunity, will this hurt our chances of getting him his green card thru the CR-1 visa or affect his chances of coming to the US? Any suggestions/advice/etc would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

  2. Hi,

My husband and I just submitted our I-130 petition to get the ball rolling. I'm also from Hawaii and he's in/from Fiji. We're trying to get a CR-1 visa. I know that you're petitioning for a fiancé visa (K1), but I'm pretty sure the petition forms are the same. I was told that the immigration office in Hilo is a great resource and they help answer any questions you have in regards to forms and how you fill them out. Since the visa we're going for would allow him to work right away, its supposedly going to take about 11 months. I believe that the fiancé visa takes a shorter amount of time AND your fiancé will be able to come to the US for at least 3 months. Lucky! I hope I was able to help some.

Take care and I wish you nothing but the best!

    Vinaka!
