Those of you who got the interview dates. how long did it take for Islamabad to send the interview dates out AFTER you sent the final documents/packet 3.5?

For my k3 i got email within a week for packet 3.5. After sending packet 3.5 its around month and no interview date yet.

WOW man, a month and no interview date yet? Im trying to plan my wedding and trying to set dates but I dont know when she will have the visa...

So they email me or my fiancé ?? I am in Pakistan and my fiancé is in USA..!! Who will get the email..??

You, in Pakistan, will get the letter in the mail. I (a US citizen) had to email the embassy twice asking for the status and they sent me an email with the copy of the letter attached to the email.

So, once about 4 weeks have passed, you can ask your fiance (the US citizen) to email the US embassy in Islamabad and request the status of the case.

Hey can you tell me after how much time you received packet 3 email from the date of status Shows ready..?? My status is also showing ready since dec 1st but I did not get any email if packet 3.5..!!

Mine took about 4 weeks... My fiancee in Pakistan still hasn't gotten the letter in the mail. However, the embassy emailed me a copy of it so we sent the requested docs.

Good luck man, things dont seem to go as smooth once the file is in Pakistan.

What good will this do by moving it out of K1 section?

So online my status says "READY", however, we have not received any email or any letter after the NVC has sent out approved application to the US Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

I also have the invoice number.. Do I need to file/pay for anything else before they send us the so called "packet 3" (requesting additional documents)? it has been about 4 weeks since the NVC sent our application to Islamabad.

I emailed the US embassy but did not get an answer from them.

What should i do at this point?

Never got the interview date bud. You are thinking 1 step ahead of it.

I need some help... So I checked the status this morning and it says "ready". my file just got to the US embassy a day or so ago. Whats going to happen next? How do i pay for the process? I have the Invoice ID and Case number. How do i pay for her medical exam and visa processing fee? Should i just wait from the US embassy in Pakistan to contact me? The guy on the phone at NVC (when i called to get the case number ) said the US embassy will contact me... is this really the case?

So I decided its been 2 weeks since I got my second letter and it would be a good time to call NVC. I was expecting them to tell me they don't have it yet. However, they told me they just mailed it off to Pakistan today!! I got really excited! I filed on August 16 and today they sent it off.

So, what's next? The guy told me that the US embassy from Pakistan will contact me via email. What are they gonna ask? How do I pay for rest of the applications? Will I need to send anything to my fiancee? Sorry about all these questions, I'm just excited! Everyone told me it would take over a year.

Yes, The case number is to check your status.

And

once you have the case # from NVC, you can now pay your visa and sched your interview and med exam...

I control the interview and med exam scheduling???? Once i have the case number will it tell me how much i owe?

They do send a letter, but it takes about a month or so to receive it. At least for me it did. Phone is the much faster way.

Does NVC also send a letter or is the phone only way to get the case #?

Hope all of you are doing well throughout this process. So, on Aug 16th 2014 I filed for my fiancee in Pakistan. Soon after (2 weeks or so) I got a text, email and a letter saying they have received my app and are sending it to California Vista Center. Yesterday I got another text and email stating that on Oct. 7th they have approved my application and have sent me a letter and to follow any instructions on that letter...

What does this mean? Isnt the approval process take ~5 months at the visa center? what are the next steps? (besides, of course, follow the instructions in the letter once i get it). Should I get excited? or is this normal time?

I think I screwed up. So I made the package for k1 visa, following the guide on this website. And I never sent my fiancee's birth certificate with it. I have a copy of it but it didn't ask to add it in the package in the guide. Am I screw or is that normal?

I am new to this process. I am a US citizen from California and today I have started to work on the K-1 visa app for my Fiance who is in Pakistan. I was previously married, got a divorce and now am looking to remarry. So as you all can tell i have some questions.

1. It says to mail my package to TX lockbox? What is a lockbox and what is my process center ( i am from California, if that helps any) ?

2. on the example letter of intent to marry it says to put the address of filing location... what address would that be and whats my filing location if i am mailing it to Texas?

3. The date on the G-325a form doesn't fit. Would numbered months be OK?

4. What kind of "bags" do you guys use for the photo? I was thinking sandwich bags or ziplock??

5. Any anyone happen to know whats the average wait for K-1 visa for someone in Pakistan? i heard 6-9 month?

Also, just wanted to say sorry if my questions are silly/common.

This website is VERY VERY helpful, i have gotten a lot of info from here in the past week or so. hope you all have a smooth process!
