  1. It's a small step, but it is a step. =)

I kept waiting for something to come in the mail, but as of yet, no hardcopy has arrived. I was stressing out and thought that I would check my bank account. I found my cashed check, and on the back was printed the case number. Just fyi, for those of you in the same situation.

    Either way, good news.

  2. Well,

3 weeks, and several ulcers later, that bad boy is in the mail.

I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone who has been responding to all of my nit picky questions. I must say it feels good to get that packet of papers out of my hands, and I couldn't have done it without you all.

I look forward to posting updates on my progress, and more questions (heh). It's funny right after I handed the envelope to the postal worker, I immediately started to stress about the packet the embassy would sent to my fiancee. lol.

So, thanks again folks. And good luck to everyone out there.

  3. Man, I am so close to filing, and so naturally, it's time for me to freak out.

In the assembling checklist provided here on VJ, it says that "attachments should be indexed."

Well, I've labelled all of my evidence thoroughly, and made sure everything is dated. But I don't have indexing tabs. What is the purpose of these, and how would they be organized?

If you've used these please post your methodology. Do you number them, and list them on the cover sheet like a table of contents? Do I sound stressed? hahahhahah.

Well, I think that's my only question. Everything else is looking pretty tight. If you all wouldn't mind giving me advice on this, I'll be able to mail it out extremely soon.

and I think that it's time to start my own timeline here =)

  4. I am getting ready to submit my K1 packet. I am so worried about making a mistake here.

If I am using my passport stamps as evidence of my contact with my fiance, do I have to have those copies certified? And if I do, how do I get those certified? (i think its a different process than notarization.)

As for translations of foreign documents, I also have hotel receipts of my stay there, as well as a receipt for an engagement ring that I purchased in Serbia. Those also need to be translated. Has anyone used a translation service that notarizes the documents as well???

So many questions, I really hope some of you that have succesfully completed this part have some suggestions. And I really appreciate all of the help.
