  1. first of all. sorry to the OP and definitely wish you luck and hope that they approve you quickly.

Secondly, regarding the quote above, I'm just curious, but what is different about Canada that it is understood that the spouse has to move back to prove domicile? If that's the case, For what other countries is it common that the spouse also has to move back in order to prove domicile?

You have to move to prove domicile for Nigeria as well.

  2. I have to share this with everyone. Please include I-864W with I-864a for every IR2 petition you are sending to NVC, especially if you are sending from Nigeria.

My wife got a CC today but we got a checklist for our baby because we did not use the I-864W ( even though we are not eligible to use it according to the requirement of the child citizenship act 2000 ( which requires that I must have been physically present in the USA for 5year after my 14 birthday as the USC parent). We had to use N600k for his brothers for this same reason, which we are sure is a fact

I have not spent 5 years in the USA since I was 14 and so should not be eligible to use this exemption but NVC insisted, so I have to wait for 60 days for what I am sure is not even right.

  3. Case Complete. Scan date: July 31.

Got a checklist September 24 for document oversight from the reviewer, Hubby called and requested for supervisor review. Supervisor Octavio pulled our file, checked and saw the missing document.

A special thanks to Saylin for all her help and efforts, Saylin you are indeed a blessing. I say a big thank you to all the Vjers here for your help and support. I also pray for those still at NVC stage that you all get thru ASAP.

Congrats......I am so happy this ended the right way. I wish you good luck with your interview date and the actual interview.

  4. Since no one answered my question...

    @ TomHank:

    Hello,

If I am not mistakenI saw that you've sent the IV package with the AOS Barcoded cover sheet ...Could you please tell me if you send them the IV Fee Bill receipt afterwards?

Thank you in advance for your response.

I sent my IV documents with the AoS bar code last month. IV fee was invoiced on the 23th, changed to paid on the 24th

  5. Spoke to Reese and what a B she is said I DO NOT HAVE A CASE COMPLETE that it's under Supervisor Review to get it complete and can take up to 30 days to get this done. But she didn't think it would take that long.

I called again right away and spoke to Torry nicer but of no help and said the same your case is not Case Complete and it's in the hands of a Supervisor asked if I could talk to them the obvious NO we are not in the same department and they don't take calls.

This is the reason I hesitated to say I had a Case Complete, right now my heart sank to my feet and all I can do is sit there and stare at the VJ page. I should have known better but of course I let my guard down and let myself believe this was almost over with. God only knows how long this will take a day or weeks. God be with us all.

Even to those who are lurking and happy to see this, I wish you no harm but a speedy process.

Sorry about this. You have been so a wonderful person. I pray you get all of these NVC issues behind you soon. :clock:. Please stay strong

  6. APPROVED!!!!!

Had my interview this morning in Montreal! Everything went smoothly and my CO was really nice and friendly and wasn't too hard to convince of our domicile requirement (I was worried about it since we're both self employed so I couldn't provide a job offer or anything for hubby).

Thank goodness there's a coffee machine in the waiting area, since I flew from Vancouver yesterday so the 8:30 am interview felt like 5:30am!

    Congrats

  7. I have a scan date of July 18th and NVC is still reviewing my package according to the NVC operator.

I have two applications (wife and stepson) - I will keep calling and asking ...

I believe the hold up is that my stepson application is still showing that i need to pay the $88 dollars for the AOS fees, but already paid for my wife, so I don't understand...maybe I need to pay for the two AOS applications

anyone that can shed some light about paying the AOS fees...

regarding el pasado judicial I got two documents, one from the website "Policia" and the other one we had to pay about 30,000 pesos...did it online, then I got a receipt...wife went to the bank and paid ...after two hours got a pasado judicial via e-mail...did send that as well.

I did not translate any document, not sure if i had to...

If your stepson's AOS fees doesn't show up as paid you need to call NVC to have it sorted. I have 2 concurrent cases too and as soon as I paid for one, the other one was updated to paid too.

  8. Ok - looks like i'm going to be re-submitting my AOS package again. People are pretty convinced that we'll get a checklist for leaving part 3 #9 on I-864EZ blank.

Should I put 'N/A' for every line or just re-write the mailing address again?

Also found another mistake! Mistake #4! Put down the adjusted gross income instead of total income even though we filed a 1040. I am such a doofus. But thanks for all the help!

Hi Seavan123. Have you resent your AOS package? Did you send the whole package again or just the form I-864?

    Thanks

  9. Dear All,

Going through my AOS for the 100th times I noticed that I might have made an error. It is on the Part 3 for the family member , I don't know how I missed the part that a family member with a separate petition should not be listed. I am planning to send another document right away. Do I need to send the whole package over again or just the corrected AOS with the barcode?. Please help.

  10. Thank you Samreen. The dilemma is I am sending my wife original BC, original marriage certificate, original nikkahnama and original English nikkahnama translation. Btw my wife just received the Police Clearance Certificate today so she will fedex that to me :) I just don't want NVC to lose the originals because then that will create a bigger mess for my case. Decisions, decisions, decisions I guess thats probably the only positive thing that you can get out of NVC they make you an excellent decision makers

Thank you for your advice, after seeing that you submitted your IV docs successfully. It gives me a confidence to send mine earlier as well :)

I know that's the part I am really confused about what if they lose my originals then I am even in a bigger mess

This is just my tiny bit. I don't think they will lose your package because you used the AOS cover sheet. If they are going to lose it they will due to negligence, which could happen with the IV cover sheet anyway. We all know about how efficient they are. So just follow your heart on this. Sending your original certs to them is a risk anyway you look at it.
