  1. I am preparing to send my fiance my financial documents for support. I have the following

    • 2014,2013 W2s Not engouh
    • Job letter (following the guide here)
    • Letter from my bank
    • Filled out I-134

Is it required to have the IRS tax transcripts or Tax Return documents to be approved? Yes

The IRS Tax Transcripts are free from the IRS and are the best documentation possible. Why wouldn't you obtain those? They are free !

    Understood, thanks Baron!

I only have employment/tax records for the last 2 years as I just started my career. Is it bad not having 3? I thought I only needed 1-2 years to qualify for the I-134 for K1 Visa?

  2. My finance and I accidentally said no to the following question on the DS-160:

"Have you attended any educational institutions at a secondary level or above?"

We both thought it meant "college level". But this also could be High School? We already submitted the DS-160 and she mailed some documents to the embassy in Tokyo the other day.

Is this going to cause a denial? What can we do?

  3. Hi everyone! looking back at our I-134's we are wondering if we answered correctly the Relationship to Sponsor on which the is affidavit being signed on behalf of.

I, the US Petitioner put "Fiance".

I also had my father fill out an I-134 and we put "Father of US Petitioner".

But I realize they are asking what my fiance's relationship/position is to my co-sponsor/father.

What should we write or is it ok how we put it?

    Thanks everyone!

  4. Hi everyone, our case was created at the embassy in Japan on May 12th, 2015.

When me and my Fianace check the case status on CEAC it says

    READY

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment.
My fiance has still yet to receive her Packet 3. I thought this means they shipped it out to her? It should only have taken a couple of days to reach her. Did they send it to the wrong address or something? Has anyone else experienced this?

  5. Hi Everyone!

Our Petition was sent from the UCIS to NVC May 1st, and then sent to the Japanese Consulate on May 13th and is now READY

    Status:

    Ready

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section.

I have yet to receive a letter from the NVC but I called today and I got our case number. Does my fiance need a copy of this letter? What should we do next?

  6. Hi everyone! Our has was sent to the NVC on May 1st by the USCIS. We're hoping to get an interview ASAP.

I just found out my company may be going out of business due to a lawsuit that will be taking down many of our client base. As a result, my father wishes greatly to be my co-sponsor and help us out. I already have another job lined up that starts late August but I am not sure what my status will be by the time she has her interview. It looks like my company may have issues end of June, which I don't think she will have an interview until July I am assuming.

My fiancé is terrified to say the least and the thought of us working hard on our marriage for the past year being wiped away from something so stupid.

Is the Japanese embassy friendly to accepting co-sponsors for K-1 Fiance Visas?

  7. Hi Everyone! If all goes well my fiance should have her interview in June at the embassy in Japan.

However, she needs to stay in Japan until September to spend time with her sister who is currently having health issues.

Is this going to be an issue or raise any suspicions with Immigration after she receives her Visa? Her visa would probably be at about 3 months from expiring when she finally departs. But this shouldn't matter as it's expired as soon as she enters the USA anyway correct?

    Thanks!

  8. Hi Everyone! We are at post NOA-2 and getting things ready while the NVC puts everything together in the next 30 days.

In regards to the Letter of Intent/Continued desire to marry finance and support for the K-1 Visa,

Is this something that I just sign and send to my fiance in the mail for her to take to the interview? along with the chat/text/skype messages for ongoing relationship proof.

Or do I need to send this to one of the services centers or NVC directly?

Also, I just need to put the original filing location name and address and where the embassy/interview will be taken place as well at the top of the letter correct?

    Thanks! :)

  9. So glad our AOS got approved today . :star: We just came from about 15 min. interview. Basic questions. Know more USCIS for two more years.

Congrats!! What kind of questions were asked if you don't mind sharing? I plan on role-playing with my fiancee to get her in this time of mindset and thinking mode as she get's nervous speaking English with strangers even though she is good at it. I'm trying to put together a list of questions that might be asked.

    Thanks!

  10. I by no means intend to flood the forums as I am sure this is something that gets asked quite often but to give my Fiancee peace of mind I told her I would ask others on here as the feeling of personal support from others helps.

Me and my Japanese fiancee filed our I-129F packet on Oct. 10th 2014 and I received in the mail NOA-1 on Oct. 16th 2014 confirming the packet was received. Now being April 19th and we are at 185 days and no NOA-2 yet. We check the status on the USCIS site every couple of days to ensure we don't miss anything and we are setup for email/text alerts.

I know there are many on here who have had to wait longer than us but we are just getting nervous. Is it possible something is wrong with the case/they lost it etc? I just don't want anything to go too long without taking any action but I also don't want to act prematurely.

We tripled checked everything, made sure everything that needed signed was signed, provided pictures of us together, and me with her family in Japan on a recent vacation there, evidence of having met multiple times within the past 2 years in the US and Japan and everything else required in the I-129F packet.

Thanks and hoping for the best for everyone else on here and their journey :)

  11. Again, it's not about quantity but quality and content.

Most relationships go through a normal evolution. Couples should be able to (and we ended up actually doing for ours) a Evolution of Our Relationship document that states the evolution of your relationship from the beginning to the present and during that discussion refer to specific evidences that support each stage.

Most go through a getting to know you phase, then more details about each other and your wants and desires, likes and dislikes, then the meeting in person, then more intimate discussions about a possible relationship, then when you both agree to pursue the K-1 process, then that whole process, then discussions about the move to the US, what the plans are for the US, etc. etc. I also heartily suggest that you include some lovey dovey stuff because most couples do that if they intend to get married.

    Get the basic idea?

Got it. Thank you very much!

  12. Evidence of a relationship is not about quantity but content and quality.

You need to generate evidences that show what you talk about (hopefully relationship related stuff). A log of Skype calls means virtually nothing unless you can back that up with other documents that show what you talk about.

Thanks baron! This is frustrating as the majority of our talking time is just on Skype calls obviously, as why text when we can talk?

I'll try to get us texting more often like we used to to generate some logs. How far do text logs need to go back?

  13. Hi Everyone! We received our NOA-1 on October 16th, 2014 and are still waiting to get our NOA-2 from TSC.

We started trying to compile a list conversions we have had for the proof of ongoing relationship evidence

but we are noticing that 90% of every conversion was a Skype call. I noticed however Skype has the time logs of the calls in our history.

    So it shows:

Call Ended 8 hours 43mins 30 seconds and a date.

Are duration logs of our calls good to send? I am worry because most of the conversions we had got lost when my hard drive crashed a while back, which was before we were engaged.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!!

  14. I am happy to report as of 10/16/14 we got our NOA1 - now waiting on NOA2 hoping that we don't have any issues.

While we are waiting what should/can we be doing to get ready for her Interview? Are there any documents she should be preparing or should we wait until the NVC actually contacts her?

I've read through the K-1 flowchart/guides on here on the site.

When she has her Interview at the Tokyo Embassy in Japan I understand she needs to bring a sealed police report. Does she always need a police report for when she comes to the USA. She also lived with me for about 6 months (2 trips spanning 84-85days ). Does she need any type of USA police report?

    Thanks for all the help!
