Ok. You had 2015-2016 on the checklist.
Oh i see. 2017 won't be filed in time. We plan on sending the packet out soon. We are still waiting for forms to properly file. That shouldn't be a problem though right?

What about tax transcripts or a tax form for 2017?
Yes, we included those! It's in my checklist. Thank you!

I scanned the front of my wife's green card which turned out fine, but on the back I noticed the black where it has that black/transparent strip that shows her image smaller and some info is totally black on the scan/copy. I assume this is just for copy protection and this is okay to send in for the I-751 form right?

Explain in the cover letter your living situation. We are same like you living with my father-in-law until we save enough money to buy a house.
We include a notarized letter from my father-in-law stating that we've been living in his house ever since and we included a scanned copy of his driver's license that shows the same address as me and my husband's license.
You can also include living wills and medical power of attorney. Like the previous comment mentioned, include bank statements spanning the 2 years of you guys living together.
My father is going to write an affidavit about us living with him since our time together from 2015. Is 1 affidavit good enough given our situation?

I would but my bank doesn't send bank statements monthly for GREEN/Economy purposes. Everything is online. I can print them from the website that so that should work right?

Hi everyone! me and my wife are finally getting ready to send our I-751 packet out to remove her two year conditional status!
Also our living situation is a bit different than most. We don't have a mortgage/rent as we have been living in my Dad's house to help us save money to buy our own house since 2015 and are just trying to get stable financially a bit. Is there anything special that a should mention about that?
Here is our checklist and files we are sending.

Are these digital photos you have had printed out for the packet? If so don’t bother much easier and better to arrange a couple of photos on each page of a word document with a small piece of text under each one with who is on it and the where and when. Print this out in color and add it to your packet. This is easier for them to put into their file and easier and quicker for them to look at as they go through the file.
That's correct. Thanks for the advice I will look into that today.

Hello! Me and my wife are preparing her packet to final I-751 to remove conditions on her residency. I have a label maker where I am going to type the names, location, dates and stick to the back of each 4x6 photo. Is this allowed/okay or should I only write on the back of the photo with ink?
Thank you all!

Got it, thank you!

What is the preferred type of envelope to mail the contents of the I-751? I used a large Yellow envelope for the K-1 Fiance visa like this:
or should I use a Priority Mail Envelope?
Thanks everyone!

Hello I am getting ready to file the I-751 for my wife to remove her conditional status and get her 10 year green card as her 2 year expires this May.
Do I need my employer to provide a letter with income/salary for my job or just recent tax returns?
I noticed the guide didn't mention anything about the employment letter like I had to do for the K1 visa.
thanks everyone!

Hello! My wife needs to travel back to Japan for family reasons for a month and here 2 year conditional Green Card expires May 2018. Is it okay if she is traveling the whole month of January? Will this cause any problems?

Me and my wife (she entered on a K-1 and and we got married and now has Adjustment of Status pending ) received her AP (Advanced Parole) combo card. We now need to travel due to a medical emergency with a family member and will be outside the US for 3 weeks.
We will be bringing the following:
• Adjustment of Status NOA1
• AP Combo Card
• Marriage Certificate
My wife says that there may be an I-94 form that has to be filled out upon return to the US which should look like this:
I attached the sample I-94 form at the bottom.
Our following questions:
1. Name/Family Name: The form asks for her name but her Passport is still in her maiden name, however her combo card is in the married name. Which name should be used?
2. Country Where You Live: United States?
3. City Where the Visa was Issued: My wife doesn't have a visa, she just has the AP combo card with AOS pending.
I ask these questions because my wife is not good at English and she is nervous right now in the event I can't help her or be with her.
Thanks everyone!

Hi Everyone,
Me and my wife, (she entered here last year and we got married in September with the Fiance/K-1 Visa ) needs to go back to Japan to visit family for an emergency as a member is in the hospital.
I will be traveling with her as well for about 3 weeks and will then need to return to work. She would like to stay at least 4-5 months. Her Advanced Parole Card expires 12/29/2016. Do you think we will run into any problems Green Card wise for the I-485 that's still pending or Immigration in general? She would like to obviously stay as long as she can given the situation!
Thank you!

My fiance arrived September 1st and we are now filing our Adjustment of Status I-485. She had her medical exam in Japan and received her DS-3030. We are filing within the one year period so my question is, do we need to file the I-693 or send any medical report documents? Her vaccination was 100% completed and signed by the doctor over in Japan and there was no class A conditions.
Is there anything about her medical that must be included in the I-485 packet we are about to send?
thanks!

Hi everyone! My fiance just arrived on Sept 1st to America. We applied for our marriage license and are picking it up in a few days. We are getting married on September 16th.
We did not apply for a SSN (Social Security Number) for her yet as we'd like to just do it once with the married name (is that okay to do?) once we have the marriage certificate. I heard you shouldn't apply for SSN until 3 weeks after arrival anyway to make sure you're in the system.
Once we have the marriage certificate I can get her on the health insurance.
Is SSN and Health Insurance required before filing AOS? or can I file ASAP so that we are under the 90 day window to get married? What else is needed for AOS?
Thanks!

Hi Everyone! My Fiance received her K-1 Fiance Visa. We are wondering. What documents will she need to bring to show at the airport besides the visa at POE? Will there be anything she will need to show immigration or the airport before she can be on her way? I will be traveling alongside her to make the process easier for her.
Thanks in adavance!

Hi Everyone! My finance is coming in the next few weeks and we want to make sure she has everything document wise that a K1 Visa Holder will need to qualify for the marriage license. I called our local county courthouse and they told us she will just need her Passport and maybe her family register ( to use a birth certificate ).
Is there anything else anyone can think of that she will need?
Also, we we're going to apply for a SSN (Social Security Number) after marriage to not have to change the names again and cause delay. Does this make sense to do that?
Thanks everyone!!

Also, she has had her visa for 3-4 weeks now.

Hi Everyone! I need to know if it's going to be a problem at Point of Entry for my Fiance (who i will be traveling back with together) to quit my job about a month after her K1 visa was approved.
I have a co-sponsor (my father) who will sponsor her for the green card while I look for another job, but I cannot stay another minute at this abusive work environment. I just need to know if my fiance will be rejected to come into America even though her visa was approved and all paperwork was perfect at the time of interview?
Thank you all!

Hello Everyone!
My Fiance's K1 Visa was approved at her interview on July 13th. Once she receives it we will purchase tickets. But I have a question.
Is it okay to buy a round-trip ticket and not use the return flight? There is a HUGE difference in price.
One way: $3,000 - $4,444
Round Trip: $800 - $900
I would like to be able to save that huge amount between the two if possible.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks!

Hi Everyone!
My fiance's visa interview is on July 13th at the Tokyo Embassy. We just noticed that my father who is the co-sponsor accidentally put the wrong birth city on the I-134 than what is on his birth certificate. Is this going to cause major issues/denial? How can we correct this? There isn't enough time to ship another form.
Thanks!
Change Job during the processing of Green Card renewal I-751?
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted · Edited by AoiHana35
Hi Everyone, I am the US Citizen and my wife recently applied to have her 2 Year Conditional renewed for a 10yr with the I-751. We got our NOA-1 and everything is going fine with the processing so far.
There is so much turmoil going on at my work right now, lay offs etc and very terrible people with bad attitudes. I have something else lined up and will be putting in my 2 weeks notice. Is it okay for me to switch jobs during this process? Does it matter at all if I (the US Citizen) have a job or not when she is renewing the 2 year conditional green card? They never asked about my income status during the filing of I-751.
