saracatherine got a reaction from Natasha&Noor in Bad NEWS, for anyone who filed visa, recently!!!
Yikes... After reading all the replies lately I am a little hesitant to post this as I don't want to tread on any toes but merely share the good news and some hope!
I had my interview on June 30th.. That day, they had a case creation date and it went directly into AP. I checked it yesterday as everything was closed for Canada day and nothing. But today when I checked the status changed to issued! I am in shock that it took merely two days!! Montreal seems to be moving quite quickly- when I asked the consular officer how long to receive my passport back he told me 1-2 weeks so Montreal must be close to getting back to their normal processing times.
I know this entire process is frustrating for everyone but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

It's not your fault! What 10 days did they mention? Thank you so much, my interview is actually scheduled for June 30th and we planned our wedding for August 1st... I know you should never plan in advance until you have your visa, but we are so excited and figured a month is more then enough time to receive my passport back considering we have a very straight forward case and I am from Canada. I'm hoping that maybe this will be sorted by then otherwise I'm really nervous that if I give in my passport I won't even be able to attend my own wedding. We've already been waiting months, a few weeks is fine. Because of this now, we are cutting it really close.

Ah, the emergency passport, I see what you mean now.

I'm sorry but you submitted your i129f in February of this year?! Don't look at other timelines... you've barely waited three months. I know its hard but we had radio silence from USCIS from Nov. 5 to April 17th... we were EXTREMELY lucky to have been approved in just under six months at Texas Service Center. When I looked at others timeline's I was realistic with our wait- I expected a minimum of eight months. Yes California is a million times faster but looking at those timelines will not help you feel better. The more you say you can't wait the more it will feel like you can't. Focus on the positives. In the meantime maybe there is something else you can focus on. Can you and your fiance plan a trip in the meantime?

Intrigued to see the responses on this. NVC just received our case early yesterday but the search isn't generating any data for me. And we already called to confirm we had the right case number... I hope that a lag is the explanation for this.
