  1. Interview went well yesterday - we were not approved on the spot but were approved today and our status changed to card/document production. We had to wait for three hours (yikes) but we were in the interview room for less than 10 minutes. Also they asked us almost NO questions! I was so surprised. Most of the interview was my husband answering those yes/no questions. The couple in front of us in "line" (they assigned numbers) got a Stokes interview which went on forever, they were called way before us.

I am so relieved it is over... we will see you guys in 2 years!

  2. We had our interview today at the Federal Plaza site in NYC.

Our IO was really friendly, but we seriously thought she would ask more questions! She just asked us what our spouses names were/birthdays/where they were born. She asked if either of us had been married before or if we had any children. She asked if we had paystubs for him (we only used my income so we didn't) but i told her he was starting a new job on Monday and she didn't seem concerned at all. We brought ALL this stuff and were prepared to answer questions about our relationship but she didn't ask anything at all. She ran through the yes/no questions, then said we'd hear soon and asked us if we had any questions.

I was vaguely disappointed only because we have such great evidence and have been together for years, but zilch. I suppose I should be happy she had no questions. Anyhow now we wait for news!

  3. Congrats! Must be such a relief after all these months of waiting.

I think many of us are on the same boat: got EAD many months ago and haven't heard anything since. And the interview notice will just show up in the mail.

What is your I-485 online status right now?

Our online status says: On January 14, 2015, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number MSC149164xxxx. Your interview is on February 18, 2015. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by February 13, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  4. Hi guys I did the EREQUEST and got an email to wait till dec 13 and I havent still heard anything from USCIS regarding my interview date. What should I do? Who should I call? Or should I just keep on waiting...... Thank you and stay warm guys it's raining hard here in California

Call the service hotline and ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer. Likely you just haven't been scheduled yet, but they can at least verify that your application is at the right place and that everything is fine.

    Report back after you call!

  5. I have been stuck in Testing and Interview since November 4th. The website says "If you do not receive your interview notice by December 4, 2014, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice." But I also want to call! Lol. I have been very anxious and ready to get this process over with!

If you call, let us know what they say, because I'm supposed to hear something from round one of my e-request tomorrow and I bet I won't. So I will probably have to call.

  6. Has anyone who's case is "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" have not received their interview appointment notice in the mail within the 30 days? Our I-485 is currently at this point with

As of November 4, 2014, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by December 4, 2014, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Well it has been 30 days and we never received any notice in the mail about an appointment so we just completed the "e-request". For anyone in this situation, did you file an e-request and how long did it take to get a response? Did you call USCIS? Did you make an infopass appointment?

SInce we have the EAD/AP already, we can wait for the GC interview longer, but we just don't want to miss our scheduled appointment date! Any suggestions?

We did this, it produced absolutely zero action. They seem completely unconcerned. I'm not concerned either, there's no WAY we actually have an interview date yet. The automated email response I got said I would receive a response by December 5th. I am totally not banking on that.

  7. Thanks, so just to clarify:

"As of October 8, 2014, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC**********, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by November 7, 2014, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

The same page that shows this "fluke" message should update and tell me an actual interview date when it is actually scheduled?

Thanks so much for the feedback, I really hope the interview happens before February (from what I had calculated I thought it was going to be in mid-December...)

    Best,

Yes - and if you are signed up for email notifications, you should get one of those when the page updates. Mine says the exact same thing right now and I do not have an interview scheduled. I've called. It's a new system thing.

  8. If you don't have an interview date set, that "if you don't receive a notice by" part of your status is an inaccurate fluke that came with the new system update. Mine says I was meant to have a letter by November 5th, but in all reality I know that my interview will probably not be scheduled until late December, with an interview date sometime in January or early Feb.

You won't miss the interview. When you actually get scheduled, your status will update again with the actual interview date.

  9. Does that mean i should not hope for an interview notice by december 12th too...? it says i can request for an e-receipt if i dont get a hard copy by dec 12th. i wonder if you can access the website the gave you for an e-recept and see if you have any luck.

It ALL depends on your local office. Look at how fast people are getting interviews at your local office and that should be a good indicator for you. Some people's offices are operating at well under a month after testing and interview. My case status says I should have received an interview notice by November 5th, but I know that for my local office, I'll probably receive a notice in mid to late December for an interview sometime in late January. That date on the USCIS website is completely arbitrary, though after that date you are welcome to request the e-receipt, but all that will do is they will send you a response saying that they will reply to your case by some random date a month out from your request. I did it even though I know that the website is faulty and there is NO way I am scheduled for an interview at this point.

  10. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer but mine has been "ready to be scheduled for an interview" since 10/8/14 and the website says that I should have received an interview notice by 11/7/14 if not to contact them to get the notice re-sent. Well, I contacted them on 11/10/14 to let them know that I never received anything but the lady on the phone told me that their system doesn't show that I have even been scheduled at all! So basically told me that the date is probably a fluke due to their new system... sigh...

Exactly, I was not expecting to be scheduled for an interview until late December based on processing times, and it's telling me I should have known by November 5th. Yeah right.

  11. The dates didn't change on mine. Something that did change though was that now my I-485 says that I should have received my interview notice by 11/7/14, which I didn't but before it just said I was in line for interview. Now I'm wondering if they sent my notice and didn't update the old website and perhaps it was lost in the mail... I'm calling Monday morning for sure!

Mine says the EXACT same thing, and there is no way I'm scheduled for an interview yet. I'm thinking it is a system fluke, but if you call can you please report back here on your findings?

  12. I just went to check the new website and now it says that if I haven't received an interview notice by Oct 17 I should ask for it, that is weird they have changed it all up, my case went to "interview and testing" on Sept 17, already have EAD, should I ask about my interview schedule?

Ok sorry to stalk in on this thread, but mine is saying the EXACT same thing (I went to Testing and Interview in October, and it says if I haven't received a letter by November 5th to contact them) - but I wasn't expecting an interview letter until December at the earliest, and no interview until maybe... January. I'm wondering if this is a mistake happening for everyone who is in Testing and Interview with no interview scheduled.

I am inclined to think this is a very poor website fluke and am waiting until tomorrow to see if it resolves itself, but let me know if you find out any different.

  13. Is anyone else who is on testing and interview (but with no interview scheduled) experiencing this? We were NOT expecting to receive an interview notice until December or maybe January based on NYC processing times. Is this a glitch? Again, we have no interview date.

We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by November 5, 2014, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice.

  14. Congrats to all the people seeing progress im so jealous of you all! I called USCIS and they to,d me that while there is an RFE on i485 everything is out on hold including the EAD application etc :( I hate having to ask people to be a joint sponsor when my wife makes more than enough and I can be making 90k+ if I had the EAD..

UGH that is so irritating. Are they requiring a joint sponsor now, or would an employment letter/paystub situation fix things?
