  1. Yes and No. They are both a notice of action(NOA). What you received was the receipt from filing. It should have listed your receipt number, stated that you paid the $340 and listed the service center that your petition is now being processed at. Once your petition is approved, you will receive another notice. It will state that your I-129F petition has been approved. The receipt of filing notice is known around here as the NOA1, and the approval notice is known as the NOA2.

As you can see on this site, there are different notice of actions that you can receive > http://www.uscis.gov/i-797-info

Here is more detailed info on the I-797C > http://www.uscis.gov/forms/form-i-797c-notice-action

See the flowchart here on VJ for the order of the process > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

    Thank you

I was scared But now I think we are OK thank you for explaining everything :-)

  2. NOA2 is I-797, with notice type of: Approval Notice.

    Example images:

    http://www.mrspresson.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/I-129F-Approval-NOA2-www.mrspresson.com_.jpg

As its notice type says, this notice is to notify the applicant that the I-129f petition is approved.

Sorry I am new in all that process Is "I-797C" what we got is the same as "I-797"?

    Thank you so much!!!!

  3. What sweetcakes said is right. Just make sure you prepare your NOA2 paperwork so you can be ready when you get it.

I just replied to sweet cakes about "I-797 Forms" Could you please read it? May be you also have some idea about it?

I saw you are on your interview

I wish you good luck :-)

That's right. The first notice you received from uscis is what is normally called here in VJ as NOA1. K1 flowchart here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

    - NOA1 is Step #3.

For TSC, current wait time to NOA2 is about 5-8 months. You can probably check out and join your fellow May 2014 K1 filers - TSC in this thread for updates: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/497747-may-2014-filers-texas-service-center/

    Thank you

I just have read also about I-797 forms Here is a link

    http://www.uscis.gov/i-797-info

It says that I-797C is for "Issued to communicate receipt of payments, rejection of applications, transfer of files, fingerprint biometric, interview and re-scheduled appointments, and re-open cases." so is it NOA1? Is it normal that we received "I-797C Form"?

What is it NOA2? Is it I-797 form (without "C")?

Thank you one more time for your help

  5. hi :-)

I have some questions I just registered on this website

May be someone on this website has more experience

We applied for fiance visa Our paperwork was received by Dallas service Center at 22 May and receipt notice date was May 27 Form I-797C. The receipt date of Form I-797C is NOA1?

And if we sent in May how long it will take to process in Texas Service Center? Is it most times 5 months?

Thanks for everybody for advice and any comment.
