  1. Hi,

I am a little confused Could please somebody explain me I am doing AOS I-485 I had my fingerprints I didn`t check my online status I checked just today on August 19 It says "On June 23, 2015, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by July 23, 2015, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

But I didn`t receive anything after fingerprints. Should I call them and ask? Or it supposed to be like this?

    Thank you!!!!

  2. Did you fail the practical exam or the written test? There are no things such as "cheat sheets". Look at it this way - you won't have a "cheat sheet" when you're driving all by yourself later on, either. Maybe you could take a couple of lessons with a driving school. I did so, and it helped tremendously.

    For AOS, start here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples

Thank you a lot for info I saw the example forms

What should I put in part 5 of I-864 forms? (We just got married and we don`t have children)

  3. No, you don't, actually you can't your visa is a one-time only that means you only will have that I-94. What you have to do is marry before the 90 days are over, and start your AOS (green card) process.

Even if your I-94 expires you are still able to adjust status, now I wouldn't wait for a long time because you can't do a lot of stuff like drivers license, work, peace of mind, etc, beside AOS are taking a really long time, so better start now.

About the doctors, I don't know about the ones that don't rip you off but you need to make sure that they are recognize by USCIS, On that link you can see the ones near you.

Thank you so much!!! Your info is really very helpful

We got married yesterday I want to go Social Security office now and start AOS But do I have to have wedding certificate in Social security office? Because I changed my last name

And how long it will take to get Social security number?

  4. Hi everybody,

I just arrived to US one week ago and I am about to get married next month

I read the forms and I am a little bit confused May be somebody already got done this earlier and can share with the experience I will appreciate all info :-)

    1. What supporting docs we need to attach for Affidavit support (We have co-sponsor)?

    2. I miss one vaccination in my DS-3025 form What Civil Sergeon should I go? (I live in San Antonio, TX)

    3. When I suppose to apply for SSN?

    4. Do we need submit AOS (I-485 form) before 90 days? Or we can do it later? If it is how long I can stay in US after I will get married and without submitting AOS?

Thanks for all your info and help :-)

  5. Part 5: Sponsor's Household Size

This is where you list all members of your household. The most important rule of this section is DO NOT COUNT ANYONE TWICE. It is possible that someone will fit into more than one category, so the biggest rule here is if you already listed someone, then you don't list them again in another category.

Here are the different sections/categories for this part:

    1. The person you are sponsoring. For AOSing from a K-1 visa, this is your spouse.

    2. Yourself.

    3. Your spouse...this part will be ZERO if you already listed your spouse in #1. Remember: Do Not Count Anyone Twice.

    4. Any children you have. You must list any children you have whether or not they live with you, whether or not you pay child support, and whether or not you claim them on taxes.

    5. Any other dependents you have listed on your most recent tax return.

    6. Any other people you have sponsored with the I-864 who you are still obligated to support.

    7. If you have a household member (someone who physically lives in the same house as you) who will be filing an I-864A, you will list them here.

    8. The total amount from 1 - 7.

The total amount should be reflective of how many people you actually have in your household size count. For example if your household size is just you and your spouse, then #8 should be 2. If you have a larger number, then it is likely you counted someone more than once.

Hope this helps to explain it.

    Thank you Zedayn!!!

  6. Unfortunately,it is impossible to say as the costs vary widely- and many doctors inflate their prices, knowing you have no choice but to get this done.

Where in the USA will you be living? Maybe our members can recommend a good and cheap civil surgeon.

    Hi,

I will live in SA,TX. It will be really great if someone knows good civil sergeon not so much expensive.

And approximately price for appointment with doctor and varicella vaccination.

    thank you!

  7. You can get an SSN by going to the Social Security office about a week after arrival. You don't need an SSN to get married, but you will need it eventually when you want to work, so go ahead and get it shortly after arrival. EAD is separate - file for that and AP at the same time as AOS. You can't work with just the SSN - need EAD too.

    Slangofoli,

How can I apply for SSN? I will go to USCIS without any appointment? I read I have to have SS5 form. Where I can find this form? What other docs should I have to get SSN?

    thank you!

  8. It's your arrival/departure record from when you go through customs at arrival - I've heard that they've gone electronic with the actual form, so you won't receive a copy - but your passport will be stamped to show you're admitted for 90 days as a K-1.

Just don't get confused and think that the expiry date on the actual K-1 visa is applicable after you arrive. You have to enter the US before the expiry date of the visa, but after arrival the date that matters is the one that customs stamps in your passport when you go through.

    Thanks Slangofoli,

Do you know about SSN? After we will get married we will apply for AOS. How I can get SSN? Do you I need SSN? Or I can just work with EAD. Is EAD the same as SSN?

    Thank you for answer.

  9. Your K-1 is null and void after entry. It's the I-94 that gives you 90 days of authorized stay. Best to get married and file for AOS before the 90 days is up, because the receipt for AOS gives you another period of authorized stay while the AOS is pending. But technically you can still file for AOS beyond the 90 days.

    Slangofoil,

Thank you. I-94 is a form that Homeland Security will give me in the airport? Or its something what I have to fill out after arrival?

Sorry for me question. I am new in immigration process. I want to know what i have to do. Thank you.
