nitsirk7562 how would you pay for the fee? I find that its due when you go the embassy.
Did you receive request for package 3.5 yet?
Certain countries require that you pay the fee before you schedule your interview. We payed our fee after filling out our DS-160.

That is correct.

You would need the EAD to get the SS.
For a K-1 visa, you should be able to get a SS pre-EAD: http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

Hola to all the June fillers!
I am at this point of waiting to get a notification from the NVC telling us that our case has been transferred to the embassy..I am beginning to feel stressed because its been three weeks since we got our NOA2 and the case was transferred to the NVC…Calling the NVC is an impossible mission as the never answer or you stay on hold and waiting forever. We will probably send an e-mail but…does anyone know a way to contact them? can we speak to the embassy? how long is it normal to wait? They say this part of the process is supposed to go faster….maybe I'm just beginning to freak out again thinking that something might have gone wrong?
Thank you!
I think I got my NVC letter 3 weeks after NOA2.
Contacting the NVC, via phone, was fairly painless for me, just a long wait time, ~40 min. Person on the phone asked me for my receipt number, told me it had arrived but had not been sent out yet. Asked for a case number and got it.

He can enter and leave the US, as a visitor, as long as the K-1 Visa has not been issued.

I have a related question, which might deserve its own thread, but I'll try here:
How are we supposed to translate the document, if the document is sealed? How does this work?
Is this in regards to Japan?
If so, the following page from the Japan Embassy site states, "The police certificate will be issued in duplicate, both in English and Japanese, within two weeks for no fee."

Hello everybody! I have a question, to see if your case has made it to the NVC the phone number is (202) 485 7600 right?
Has anyone contacted them any other way to know if the case is there?
Thank you very much!
For K1 visas, you will need to call 603-334-0700. If you call 202-485-7600 they will just tell you to call the other number.
For some reason, information regarding the K1 visa falls under Immigrant Visas. Even when you check the status of your visa, you will have to select Immigrant Visa over Non-Immigrant Visa.
I contacted the NVC via this method yesterday and got my answer.

Oh ok! Thank you for replying
Did youc all NVC for a your Case #?
I will give them a call around the 10 - 14 day mark.

Hey everyone!
Mind me asking to those that received their approvals between July 23rd and July 29th: Who of you have received your NOA2 Hardcopy through mail??? And have any of your case been shipped to NVC yet? How long will that take?
I got approved on July 24th but still no hardcopy?
Is this specifically for the TSC or in general?
I received a NOA2 on the 24th and received a hard copy on the 28th, but I was processed through the CSC. No NVC letter yet.

You can't be serious...
You are petitioning for fiancee visa, and how can you leave out the Fiancee Letter of Intent to Marry.
This will take you 3 minutes to do.
You can find an example here:
I suspects its not the amount of time to write it, but the additional delay it will take for the letter to arrive with the Petitioner from the Beneficiary.

Given the uncertainty of time that it would take to deliver the package, sending your pictures/album electronically to your fiance and having your fiance print them will be your best guarantee that your pictures will be available at the necessary time of interview.
