I have the Galaxy S4 and there are things I love and hate about it. Particularly the slippery and flimsy backing! I actually had to have the screen replaced because the LCD cracked the 4th day of owning it - definitely faulty cos I haven't had that problem since. Also my battery was part of a bad batch and was replaced too. It seems more fragile than an iphone but other than that is a decent phone.
The best part is that it's not locked to a carrier - which I have to say is the most annoying thing about phone plans in the US besides the fact you get screwed over by the phone companies!

Scam part is this.

Reading the comments on the blog, it's scary to think that it's been happening for awhile and that so many people have fallen for it.

Congrats Blancavelaguti & tcttct!

You can also call the IRS and have them fax you your tax returns, it's a little tedious by phone but you will still have them by the end of the day. Everything else is pretty straight forward, just make sure you copy everything you send them so you have a record of what was sent.
There's no point arguing about why you let the time lapse on your K1, you can only look forward at this point.
Have a small court house wedding and file the appropriate forms I-130 & I-485 like everyone has told you to do. You can always have a nice big ceremonial wedding later.
Definitely don't leave till you have your AP either or your application will be considered abandoned. Also the cheque is for the combined fee not individual cheques for each fee - we oopsied this when filing the first time lol. Get on it and Good luck!

We both don't have a second language but my mum speaks Mandarin and Cantonese and we hope that she will teach our daughter a little.

My hubby's HM2 (who was not a well liked guy) insulted me in front of my husband, hubby's friend, one other guy they work with that was lower rank (it was a weekend and we had driven hubs friend back to get his xbox on base). He pretty much called me an illegal amongst other things and was just a big jerk. Needless to say that it did not go down the next day at work and hubs told him off in front of everyone including their CO and after that he was super nice and avoided eye contact with me.
I've also been kicked out of a bar because the bar girl refused to serve me and said I did not have valid ID - I had my foreign drivers license, passport and dependant ID on me and the same bouncer who let me in ended up escorting me outside. It was humiliating because I was completely sober and we were out with family and had just ordered food.
I've had people talk to me like I'm stupid and don't understand English and other small things like asking me where I'm from then saying things like no but where are your people from - some reason me being Australian and Asian is incomprehensible to them. I'm usually pretty good at ignoring it but it's still hurtful and thankfully it's the minority that have a problem.

Sometimes we will shop gifts for each other and sometimes we will allocate a spending amount and get what we want. We still wrap it up and say it's from the other lol but this way we get what we wanted and since we have joint funds - it makes no difference money wise. If money is tight then we don't bother with gifts and just save up for things we really need, gifts to us is not a big deal since we both like practical and useful things anyway.

We attended an immigration group meeting on base with a military employed civilian lawyer, she gave us an info package with the forms and instructions but was not very nice and said we were on our own. We then consulted another military approved immigration lawyer (it was a free consult) and he was very helpful and advised us that we could file on our own and what to do. It wasn't a hard process and I'm glad we didn't end up paying extra for a lawyer.

Just checked my email (I'm on vac overseas and it's morning here, just left on Tuesday) and there was an update!
On July 23rd 2014, we ordered the production of your new card.
We are over the moon and just so relieved. Thanks for the support and wishing everyone who is still waiting a speedy approval.
Congrats Nica!

That is crazy and creepy!!

Congrats Panga & Amywrites!

It may or may not delay it, it really depends how busy they are and when the first available interview date is. When we moved ASC Boise to Chula Vista we didn't get a date till 2 months later. It's a risk lol so the question is - how long are you willing to wait for an interview at the closer ASC?
-
We just kept both the same to avoid hassle but it won't hurt to call and ask them about it.
-
If you reschedule, it may delay your application. When I filed AOS we got our interview in 3 months but because we moved states and had to reschedule it delayed my application 2 months waiting for a new interview date. Of cos it depends on how busy your ASC office is too but you have to have a good reason and there's no guarantee when a new date will become available or how long you will have to wait. Also I was under the impression you had to have been married 2yrs when you filed to get a 10yr GC, not sure how it works for that though.
-
IMO it does take a little while for them to update between the field office and main service center but you should probably call and file an update for you new address so you will know for sure that any letters will go to you and that you ASC will be Washington. If not it's more than likely the same thing will happen again.
-
They should have it on file from when you applied for AOS, so no need to send unless they ask for it later on.
-
Definitely file the AOS asap as suggested by other users, the longer you wait the messier and harder your situation will become.
Would you rather wait and risk being caught out by something mundane like a traffic violation, which would probably lead to your deportation and possibly a ban?
Borrow the money from family and get it done!
-
Yeah they always give you a copy for your record. I applied for my ssn after marriage and even with my GC in my married name they made it in my maiden name...
-
I don't think it will affect anything. Personally when we applied, my mil dependant ID was the only thing with my married name besides my marriage certificate. I never had/still don't an issue with most of my documents in my maiden name (didn't want to repay for new documents in my married name).
-
It's probably going to take atleast month to arrive so looks like you might just get it in time but if not then I'm sure they will be ok with orders and hopefully let you submit it when you receive it. Try to keep your mind off it ok?
P.s thank your son for his service for me. My husband was Navy 6 years and also served in Afghanistan.

I did not receive a letter but I like the smart phone idea if you are forgetful. I just never forgot mine.
*After I posted I saw what myafi1989 said and that must have been why I never received one, but I will still not bet on them reminding you just in case for some other reason you still don't get one.
