Hello all, just wanted to update you on our progress!! We FINALLY had our appt. on 12/2 and my husband got his visa to come here!! Our journey is finally over and he'll be here shortly to start this new chapter in our lives... I will write a review about the Dominican embassy soon.. It'll be super long and thorough.. I'm soooooo happy this super long journey is finally over!!!

Hi, I'll just share my experience.. I'm petitioning for my husband and I have made him get all originals, again, for when our interview comes.. So he went and got another marriage certificate, a birth certificate and a police certificate.. I don't want to take any chances and rather pay extra money than lose time.. So now we have originals of everything we've sent..

Yes all embassies schedule December interviews. That would start end of next month.
So exactly what did you put then N/A or NONE. No fields are suppose to be left blank.
I guess I just honestly thought it was common sense and did leave it blank... I put nothing at all... So when I resubmitted it, I re inserted my address, just to be on the safe side... Didn't want to take any chances...

You've got to continuously keep calling.. I do it from my iPhone and press callback immediately for about 5-10 mins and eventually get through.. I don't even put the ear until my phone until I see the time start rolling..

Hello my fellow VJ'ers.. I don't comment much because I don't know much but I do like to share my progress.. So let me just update you all.. I received a CHECKLIST for such a stupid freaking reason... For anyone with common sense when you see something that states (mailing address, IF DIFFERENT FROM PERMANENT) You'd assume to leave blank because it's clearly the same.. Nonetheless I left that blank on the I864 and received a checklist.. I have already paid the IV bill and sent my documents so that checklist really pissed me off considering the dumb reason.. Regardless, I sent it back the following day.. (This was last week the 15th) I guess now I'm just playing the waiting game and hopefully it actually doesn't take more than 30 days to receive an appointment.
Does anyone know if they do appointments in December??? I'm praying and assuming and hoping for like end of November...

Congrats that's amazing!

Thank you all!! And yes (Hunny and Bunny) I guess I didn't!!

Hey all. just wanted to share the news! We received our IV bill yesterday and paid today!!! I'm so excited because this deft. and hopefuly means we're that much closer. Unfortnately (well sort of) I can't send the necessary paperwork because I'm actually in DR visiting my husband so it'll have to wait until I get back next week. It's cool though, I'M SUPER HAPPY!!!!

Today marks 42 business days for us... :/
Damn! Have you guys called? At least your 18 days closer.... =/

Today makes business day 31 and still no IV bill.. I'm going to call on Friday.. I also changed my maiden name to my married name a few months ago and recently sent them the paperwork via email, hopefully this doesn't cause a delay.. They take weeks to reply to emails..

OMG! After reading this post I went to check on my DS-261 that I filed last week and I just wanted to check any mistakes, well apparently I screwed something up because the next thing I read was the sign IMCOMPLETE! I am never checking anything again. So, let me see if this is clear, now I have to wait two months for it to be process?
Based on the responses I received... I believe so!!

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!! THIS CAN"T BE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, when you re-open and send it again, it resets your date. Others have done the same in the monthly NVC thread (which I suggest you join).
I don't even know what to say anymore.. This is simply depressing.. Can I get the link for the thread? so much goes on here and I have a hard time figuring out how to find things?! Please and Thank You!

Question, I never received a confirmation email like I did for the first time I completed and submitted, does that matter?

Hey all! So, ( praying for the less obvious answer) I originally submitted the DS 261 on July 2nd.. The 30 day mark will make it August 11th! Nonetheless I touched it on July 15th, it read as "incomplete" and I resubmitted.. Someone PLEASE tell me I didn't just extend my review date?

And I also got an email from NVC regarding the review of my AOS document which will take 60 days from their received date of 7/15.. *sigh* I'm so over this long process... I submitted MORE than enough proof for my supporting documents so I'm hoping for an easy approval considering I don't know what else to possibly send them for evidence because I sent them everything possible, and because their processing times are ridiculously LONG!!!!

Hunny of thats your reason you wont be approved. Trust we are all tired of that wait as well. My PD was Sept 26 and I just received my Case Complete and waiting for cita now. Trankila
lol Yes I know that's why I said I guess it won't work for me… Thanks girl.. it's just going on 9 months and we haven't even paid the IV bill u know… ugh!
-
Thank you! I guess none of those reasons apply to me.. My only reason is: THIS PROCESS TAKES TOO LONG AND I'M TIRED OF THE WAIT lol
In order to have a request expedited you need to meet one of the following criteria:
Expedite CriteriaAll expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met. The criteria are as follows:
- Severe financial loss to company or individual
- Extreme emergent situation
- Humanitarian situation
- Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States
- Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)
- USCIS error
- Compelling interest of USCIS
Note: Discretionary expedite requests for petitions and applications that have Premium Processing Service available will not be considered for expedite processing. The only exception is when the petitioner is a not-for-profit organization designated by the Internal Revenue Service. For information regarding premium processing, please refer to the premium processing webpage.
Thank you! I wonder, do you know what she said?? what her reasons were?
You have to send an email to NVC about the reason why you need to expedite your petition. Then from 1-2 weeks they will respond back to you about it. My manis Noelia just had that done and can be very helpful for you

Hello all! It is I again with a million and one questions as always. I've been reading a lot of posts about ppl expediting their processes?? ANYONE have any idea how that works??? Some people have gotten married after us and have visas issued... =( I just want my husband here already!!! We are currently waiting for the invoice of the IV bill, they have the AOS paperwork and all that although it doesn't reflect in the system when I check... ANY thoughts?? Should I call?
-
Thank You!!! We filed that form over three weeks ago... Should I call them?
30 to 45 business days its taking to review and accept.
The IV Fee is generated after the DS-261 has been submitted and accepted. When did you send that in? Read the NVC Process wiki in my signature so you know what you need to prepare for.
-
Hey ya'll!! I was wondering if anyone knew the time frame for a response from NVC once they've received the I-864 and the paperwork required?? They've had it for about a week and a half now, maybe even two... Also, I know the IV package is coming up next, I'm prepared with all the paper work.. Any thoughts on when that's supposed to happen as well? We are already going on 8 months of this process...=/. The website isn't even reflecting that they have the supporting documents.. ahhhhhhh should I call them? Any advice is greatly appreciated! THANKS!!

Hi VJ community. I just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there as nervous and anxious as I am? My husband and I are still undergoing the process, almost about to fill out the IV packet but I'm just so nervous for the interview.. I'd like to know what would be some basis for denial? I always hear horror stories, in particular with Dominican Republic and I'm just so overwhelmed. Anyone have any thoughts, tips, personal feedback on their experience? My sister also met, married and brought her spouse from DR, but then again she was also pregnant by the time they went to the consulate. I guess I'm just looking for someone to ease my anxiety, lol, if possible.... THANKS!!!
