  1. A few weeks ago we had our conditional green card interview. I am a K1 visa holder and now I am a green card holder! The questions were intense but all the questions came from the i129f submitted by my husband and the i485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status package. The USCIS immigration officer also asked my husband some questions. He gave us a lot of information on how to remove the conditions of the conditional green card using i751 and more info on become a citizen using N-400.

We want to give info back to this awesome forum. thank you to whoever created it. it helped us a lot.

We recorded this right after the experience:

  3. Thank you! I have some more reading to do, I think :)

By "AOS will come" I simply mean when the actual change is made - how much time is there (on average) between when I apply and when my status is actually changed so that I am allowed to work within the USA. I was concerned that if the actual change allowing me to work in the USA came after the 90 day period that it would be problematic, but you've said that you can apply even after the 90 day period is over, which eases my mind a bit.

From what you're saying, receipt of my application is received in a few days or shorter, by mail or SMS, so that's a plus.

Again, thank you for your help, I appreciate it. :)

    hello godraine :-)

As soon as you submit your AOS application with your I 765 form for Employment Authorization, they will send a notification letter after a week. And then within a month (depends on which state it can be faster or slower)they will send you an appointment for biometrics and shortly after that , your employment authorization card will be send to you by mail. You will be able to get a job as soon as you have it.

The green card takes longer, some states take only 5 months but some takes a year. I am also waiting for my green card. It has been 8 months since I applied and I didnt get an appointment for interview yet. I dont think its possible to submit it on the 3rd day because you will need to get your social security number too.

Anyway, Goodluck to you and welcome to america :-)

  4. Hello,

Has anyone had any luck getting through to NVC via phone? We have called numerous times, at different times of the day, and never get a human being. Just get the message that due to high call volumes, all agents are helping other customers.

Anyone have any tips/tricks to share?

    Thanks!

YUp. My fiance was so eager to get the case number and he got it after 2 days of calling. Just keep calling and calling until a person answers.

  5. You are correct. It was two weeks before she was do to come over here did she tell me that. I keep kick myself and trust me I have split enough hairs trying to figure it out. Doing my math I was visiting her in her native county about every 4 - 6 weeks. And she did NOT look pregnant at all. but I did not see her in her later stages of pregnancy. I guestimate that she was around 3 -5 months pregnant when I last saw her, till after she must have given birth. I simply could not tell.

I did meet her about 7 years ago. So I have known her quite a bit. So that is why I believed the rape story and that she did not know she was preganant for a long time. I honestly believed her story.

In a way I was fool in love. And did not want to believe that she could have maliciously lied to me.

Omg, your story sounds like a disaster! Anyway , dont worry you wont be the one going to jail but her!. I have been readin gback to back about laws around fiance visa before arriving in the US. Your marriage is a fraud. Report it to USCIS so that she wont be granted any permanent resident card. Her story does not match. Is he really her brother? You know in the first place , you should have not let him live with you and your wife. It seems like your wife is using you to have her family over here. I feel so sorry about your situation. That is extreme.

And also do not be confused. Take action and get annulment . Do not waste your time on being unhappy. thats not how life should be.

  6. i have been married with my wife for 5 years now and i have 10 years green card and i have one problem is my wife i love her so much but she drive me crazy and the problems we have is

she is so jealous she dont trust me and i never cheat in my life the problem is i love to workout but its drive my wife crazy how girls dress at the gym and if a girl workout close to me she will come to me and tell me u need to change the spot i dont want y husband close to those bitches if i say that not good you not suppose to insult them they are free to wear what they want and she tell me you defend them because you like to look at them and i cant even watch tv how i want i cant watch shows have women wearing cloths show their body she come to my job to see who is working with me and she accuse me of me talking to the girls at my work and i said sometime because we work at the same job and she accuse me of cheating and we always fight i don't know what to do i hate this married i wish i never married this American woman i love her that why im so confused right now leave or stay im lost i need advices please

sorry i dont know where im suppose to write this but i really need help im getting crazy

If you really love your wife, talk to her. ANd work out at home. invest in the stuff you need so you wont go out. Talk to her and make her feel secure that you are not like her ex husband. And dont go looking at other girls! that is not cool at all. I bet if your woman do the same you would be jealous too. I also had this issue with my fiance who is now my husband because I had a terrible experience before. It was not easy to trust. It had taken my self confidence a lot. IS your wife sexy and pretty? it seems like her insecurity is too much. You have to make her feel good about herself. And tell her that girls on Tv wont replace her ! It is just a tv show.

  7. Yuri,

    I think you are wrong.

Question at ds160: have you been a drug abuser/addict.

-since we did it once and out of curiosity, we said NO.

Question at st lukes: have you tried any form of drug in your entire life.

    - we answered yes since it is true we/i did it once out curiosity.

Question at AOS FORM: have you knowingly etc about drugs in or outside the us.

    - i do believe the answer here in my/our case should be yes because even if we tried it once out of curiosity, it is still an OFFENSE in the Philippines.

I think inshould just provide an explanation letter and a character reference letter from my wife. Im here already too in the US. Will get our marriage cert tomorrow and start the AOS.

I was also hesitating for the right answer on that question but i just followed what my husband wanted me to do since he does not want my application to be complicated again. But in your case, if you are more comfortable saying ' Yes with an explanation then i guess you shoul ddo it. Add me in fb . May mga tanong Pa ako. Anyway needed ang Social security number at I-94 sa AOS> meron ka na ba nun? I add mo ako sa fb ttyl. pinaylove24@gmail.com

  10. For everyones reference. Here is the question in the form.

Have you ever inside or outside the US knowingly committed any crime of moral turpitude or a DRUG RELATED OFFENSE for which you have not been arrested?

Should i say yes or no if i admitted to st lukes that yes i have tried puffing once in my entire life.

    Hello Joui,

I went back to visa journey and seen th thread again. which question are you talking about? Is this the i-485 question of the DS 160? In the DS-160 I said no to it. It did not have any conflict and I still got approved with my visa. I am now in the US. When I was preparing the papers for AOS. There was the same question. "have you committed any crime which you have not been caught in or out of the United States? My husband told me to say 'no 'because they may have the medical record but it wont affect my application. Hopefully it wont. Until now i still regret admitting to it but I do not worry too much anymore.

    Hello Sally,

calm down, take photocopies of your passport stamps as all of it will show your entry and exit to the country you went to. Dnt send a fake ticket.

  12. Hello everyone'just had my immigrant visa interview in lagos on the 3rd of September 2014,first I thank God how it went, the scripture says in all thing we should thanks, bcos some immigrant visa applicant were denialed on the spot, mine started like this,i will try and remmeber all the questions, bcos the CO Asked so many questions and she did take out time to look at almost all the pictures I went with, asked what was our means of communication,i told her phone call, emails, whaspp chat, facebook chat and she only looked at the phone call log and asked me if she can keep all the call log? And I said sure, then she said she need more time to review my case b4 she can make a decision and handed me a white paper that say the 60 days stuff, well I must say it's hard for me and my wife bcos we never saw this AP stuff comming, bcos we did't think we had red flag in our relationship, well we thank God for bringing me and my wife this far, just like everyone advice just pray and wait in hope and faith and join a support group, and I want to say thank you to everyone that have help us go through this all process, like dwheel76 and other VJ members that have always keep an open door to my many questions...lol..thanks everyone

    Hello peace of mind,

Its alright. Be positive. Just pray. When the CO says it needs to undergo administrative processing , it doesn't mean that the visa will get denied. They are just reviewing your papers and making sure that the relationship is real. I was also under AP for 3 weeks. If they don't email or give you an update. Contact them maybe after 45 days in the cgi federal website to send an inquiry. Mine also took very long and I assume that once ur case is pending it is set aside and you need to send an inquiry about your case. Check your status also at ceac.state.gov

  13. Goodluck Yuri! Are you done with the personal evaluation with the psychiatrist? Goodluck on your interview!

Thank you Joui,Yes I am done with my psychiatric test last July but it takes 4-5 days for them to evaluate it. The questions were only about previous employment and confirmation courses that ive finished. He also asked me of how many times it happened and I just answered properly. I cannot live blaming myself for admitting it. I am done with the interview. The consular officers were very nice. My medical was late for delivery so I do not know the result yet . It is still under administrative processing so I will only recieve my passport back after 2-3 weeks, then I will know if its approved or denied but I think positively that it is approved. I got sick from the weather in Manila . My interview went well and it only took 3 minutes. She asked for questions about the relationship and the travels we did together. I was also too nervous but I kept talking to myself that everything will be alright. The lifetime ban is gone. No one will stop us with our dreams to be with our future (your hubby and mine)hehe :dancing: :joy: :dancing: :joy: . Always smile to the consular officers. Goodluck on your interview.

  14. Hello Joui,

I will let you know how it goes on my interview. Im scheduled for the next week. I also admitted a previous drug use and got very depressed after knowing that i might get denied from previous mistakes in life. I got over it and practiced all the possible questions for the actual interview instead. There are questions like fiance's work place, his mom's age, bday and stuff that I didnt think will be ask. So know all your fiance's details before the date of interview. Prepared all the papers and scrapbooks. Be confident , smile and be positive. I am also praying that everything goes well and I will pray that everything goes well for you too. Lets think about the future with our fiances, not the negative side. Focus during the interview. Goodluck to us.

  15. We have gone through the process and have paid the fees. Website of US embassy in Manila dont have an update yet for appointment schedule. Been checking for 2 weeks now. Are there too many applicants as of the month of june and july? Does anyone here know
