  1. Called and talked to second level. They seemed confused but told me to send question to local office with copies of all documents received. Sent letter out yesterday registered mail and will post response when I get it. I sent; interview 797C, approval 797, and copies of green cards.

To be honest we are just so grateful to have the permanent resident cards it just doesn't matter. We would rather skip the trip to the local office if possible.

We scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice.

  2. We received notification of interview for 5 Jan 16 about two weeks ago. Week later we received notification of application approval and then on 9 Dec we received green cards. No interview cancellation has been received. Do we still need to go to the interview? I will call the help line Monday and see what the robot with the script will say. This is for a K1 and K2 entry and now their AOS that has been processed at the same time.

  3. NOA2 approved October 14th

US Embassy Bangkok DHL delivery date from US State Department was November 7th

Updated status November 17th shows READY..

    Bangkok, Thailand US Embassy.

Have not received the Packet 3 yet.

The address has NOT changed......have received both NOA1 and NOA2 at same Thailand address as made in application.

Is there anything I am missing? Do we need to complete more forms online in order to get Packet 3 ?

Others in timelines similar to ours usually get their Packet 3 in 4-7 days from arrival in Bangkok from State Department.

Thank you for any thoughts or suggestions,,,

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving....Happy Holidays ahead too.

    Best regards from Thailand,

    Tj

Not sure we ever got packet 3 or 4. We mailed packet three as soon as status changed to ready. We received email from consulate three days later with interview date. We don't know if Yadfon has received packet 3 or 4 becuase she is not home now.

My advice is down load latest instruction for packet three and 4 and follow them. Mail packet 3 as soon as you can.

  4. surprised about hospital, they did our medical with NVC letter before we received packet 3.

We didn't have our NVC letter I had to call NVC to get BNK number because I was in Thailand and could not get my mail. I just kept telling them the embassy doesn't care as long as the medical is less than 6 months old. Her interview is 9 Dec and we can't wait.

  5. Yadfon just did her medical last week. She had no shot records and required three shots. Son had to come back in 3 days for TB test read. We did it prior to getting packet three because I was in country and she wanted company. The hospital wanted interview date, case #, 2 pictures each, and their passports. We just made up an interview date. They wanted to see our appointment letter I told them that the embassy doesn't always send them out and if they would have pushed further I would have showed them the packet 4 instructions that states this. Getting it done early made us both feel better and she liked that I was with her. We also sent packet three as soon as NVC status changed to ready as others have done. We so want to be together before Christmas and it is going to be hard to do. if you wait for everything to come to you. So now we are just waiting for interview date with our fingers crossed.

  6. I can only tell you what the numbers are... I didn't make any of this up :) Looks like yours is taking longer than average... Have no idea what to tell you except that I feel your pain and I'm sorry that we are both going through these long waits. I truly hope that your NOA2 comes through very soon. God Bless..

There is a good tool for this on the VJ site. Go to Igor's list and at the top select time function and select time line search from the drop down. I just ran it for Thailand at CSC with NOA1 dates of 2014-01-10 to 2014-10-14 and NOA 2 dates of 2014-01-01 and 2014-10-14. It shows 10 records with the average time of 44 days from NOA 1 to NOA 2.

Then for grins I ran Australia for the same dates and it showed 22 records with an average of 46 days from NOA1 to NOA 2.

AL, Can you tell me what the three sets of numbers mean and how many months did you pull the 150 records from?

    Thanks Glenn

  7. Ya'll are fine. My wife was the same with our son. As long as you have Single Status certificate you good. Since she does have a child you will need a statement from the father whether he comes to the embassy or go to the local Amphur giving you consent for the child to come to the US. This is a most. Here is a hyperlink:

Thanks Long, that is what I hoped. We have both those documents in hand.

    Glenn

  8. Hi all,

Putting our packet 3 together and came across a confusing requirement. The packet 3 instructions (Rev. Jul-14) says a Single Status certificate maybe needed and then near the end it states that if a child was born out of wedlock then a Marital Status certificate is needed. We have a Single Status certificate but we don't know what this other one is. What is the differences in the certificates? Has anyone dealt with this?

  9. I'm not sure what you mean. I don't even see anything that says "Last Updated" it just says :

  10. My fiancee had no shot records at all. I think very few people in Thailand keep shot records at least in the past, seems to be more now with computers as all my son's shots are on file.

Also some of those vaccines on the list are age dependent, so they won't give them at her age. Check out this PPT on page 7

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/Designated%20Civil%20Surgeons/4_CS_Training-Vaccinations_Session.ppt

This will pretty much tell you exactly which ones she is going to have to take, it is an interesting read and will give you all the information you need.

Thanks for sharing this great information.

  11. I know you are interested in making sure the case moves along as well as possible. Nothing wrong with the questions of course because as you say you are going info that can only help.

As others have said Thai people dont always or seldom maintain a health record as I see here in America. My husband & I work with about 4,000 children here and each one must have the correct health information to begin and that info is updated often. I just love the systems in America and hope one day Thailand will adapt some of what I see here to help the people.

I think in Thailand it isnt about cost because we do have govt assisted health care but a lot of people there dont know much about the subject. My husband for example was surprised when he saw one family member laying on a bamboo bed outside a house with coals burning under it as a method of healing a sick person. This is where I learned about the Donner party I mentioned. He asked if they had already eaten the mules.

Great story and Yadfon has been on the bamboo bed and can relate. We are just trying to do it right the first time. Not having records puts me out of sorts just like your husband.

  12. Good to see you have a sense of humor because we need this along this journey.

A master I am not. A guide? Possibly with the help of others. Then we must remember the Donner party had a guide too which is why I always bring a fork. I think Karee brings a glass from what he has said especially if the trip is more than one block long.

If you don't life is so boring, I used master because that is how grasshopper always replied.

  13. This is what I was hoping would come up here. The O P is only interested in these most recent situations but didnt seem to be aware that what happened to others relative to the shots may not have anything to do with his fiances circumstances. The laundry list of shots he posted are not always needed and in fact most of us only needed a few. I had just three but that was not in the isolated time frame he thinks is important.

Money may not be a factor here but if the timing of the medical isnt understood then as Aaron points out there will be another very expensive medical required.

Additionally his lady will or should be given follow up shots once in the USA and prior to the AOS meeting even though in my case for example they didnt even ask nor were interested in the medical form they had requested.

For the benefit of those that do care about the costs of such things I suggest they check with a local county health clinic to obtain the follow ups. A doctor wanted 300 for mine and over 900 for my daughters. At the clinic I paid 23 for mine while my daughters 9 shots were 100% free.

You are right, the examples people give me may not have anything to do with Yadfon's situation. Even so, I would like to hear from some couples that have went through the medical that had no records after the Mar-14 revisions to the instructions came out. I want to see if the reality of the medical changed any. I do want to make sure we do what is in her (our) best interest for the long haul to citizenship. And getting all the correct vaccines is one of them, then following up. I just don't want her to need to get them all at once. Good advice on the follow ups. Same goes in Thailand, there can be a big difference in cost for the vaccines from one place to another.

I have already gained insight from this conversation and hope more people way-in.

    Thanks for the comments

  14. My wife ended up having 4 shots when she went to the medical. She was under 25 and had to do the HPV, since that is no longer a requirement, she would have ended up with 3. So it will really depend on what anti-bodies your fiancee already has.

One more reason I thought of to delay your medical is having to redo them in the US for AOS, you can use the K1 medical for the AOS, provided it was done less than a year before you file for AOS. So depending on dates etc, you can be pushing it if something happens and you get put in AP.

We had the shot records transferred to the AOS form for free at the local Civil Surgeon. Also we never finished the series of shots on the vaccinations either.

    Thanks for the info.

  15. Because the O P wants info from only a select few I will not add anything except to say there is a lot to be understood about the process. Sometimes when people lean too far forward they fall rather than have any sense of balance which will be gained by experience.

    Good luck grasshopper.

Thank you master for the great words of wisdom and guidance.

  16. You can get the medical prior to receiving the official packet, you just have to push. We had the same issue with the ladies there in Bangkok in that they said they would not do it until we had packet 3. My wife showed up with the NOA2 and pushed and got it taken care of. It was a good thing she did as we never received an official packet 3.

That is more or less our plan, Medical at NOA2.

    Thanks Glenn

  17. Anyone else willing to talk about their recent experience with vaccines in Thailand. How many did your significant other need to get at their medical. Here is what is in the Instructions for Medical Examination Rev Mar-14.

United States immigration law requires fiancé(e) (K) and immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations (listed below) prior to the issuance of a visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations are now required to verify that visa applicants have met the new vaccination requirements, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccinations:
     Hepatitis A
     Hepatitis B
     Influenza
     Influenza type B (Hib)
     Measles
     Meningococcal
     Mumps
     Pneumococcal
     Pertussis
     Polio
     Rotavirus
     Rubella
     Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids
     Varicella
