  1. After reading a thread here, I realized that I may have made a mistake in my I129F, specifically, the translations I supplied for my fiance's documents were the photocopies, not the originals I got from her.

What I read was that translations should always be the original.

I suspect this would cause an RFE, so is there anyway I could contact USCIS and send the originals while the file is waiting to be adjudicated?

  2. I just filed a petition for my fiancé and her minor son. I realize this means my household size for affidavit of support purposes is 3.

However, I have a past affidavit of support for my ex which is still likely in effect (she would not be a US citizen by now).

I'm curious what household size the interviewer will use to determine the income requirements on the new affidavit. Given my self employment at the current time, I'm likely to use an asset based approach, and want to make sure I'm covered.

  3. My first wife and I married over 15 years ago, we split up amicably back in 2006. She was from England and has stayed as a permanent resident. Wife #2, however, we split up 2 years ago after a miserable year. I could not prove it, but I believe immigration was a huge part of her motivation (she came from Kazakhstan).

Engaged again (third time's a charm I hope), I find myself wondering how to petition for a waiver. Specifically, how do I deal with the 2nd wife and my unprovable belief that immigration was her primary motive? I don't know if she ever applied for a good faith waiver as we have not been in touch.

Should I just leave it as it didn't work out? I'm generally loathe to make allegations against anyone that I cannot back up with hard facts, and my own impressions are not sufficient.
