  1. I passed my citizenship interview early December 2020. A couple days later I got case update saying I was scheduled to take Oath in Plano, TX on Jan 12, 2021. However, I then received another notice from USCIS on Christmas indicating that my Oath Ceremony has been cancelled due to health crisis issue. Anyone in here experienced the same cancellation? Have you been rescheduled again? Please share!

  2. I finally had my interview yesterday 6/6/19 after 3 years of waiting. My interview went well and the officer was very pleasant. He said I would be approved within the day. However, It’s been more than 24 hours and I have not seen any status change on my case. Anyone has experience on how long does it take after your interviews to get status change? I’m a little nervous because he said within the day but nothing changes yet.

For your information I had my interview at Dallas Field Office in.

  3. October 2016: I applied for ROC in October 2016. Divorce waiver.

March 2018:   They sent me an RFE in March, 2018 which I responded in April.

June 2018     My case was transferred to local office (Dallas, TX) according to Tier 2 officer.

I have tried many ways to get an update from USCIS (calling Tier 2, Congressman, Senator, Ombudsman Office) but the only thing I got is "my case is in line for an interview". I don't know why it takes them 7 months (and counting) to schedule an interview. Anybody in the same situation? is there anything else I can try? Please share I appreciate any information!

  4. @ adam: Wow, we are almost in the same boat. I had the approval paper from the IO but not stamp and the welcome notice was delivered yesterday. USCIS just updated 10' ago saying "Card Was Mailed To Me", but no tracking number  .

Hang in there my friend, you will get your soon.

Congrats again :). I know there is not many things I can do except waiting. Hope that I will have the same text/email sometime today so I can start to celebrate

  5. mel_cbd: Congrats on your getting approval. I had the interview on Mar 18 (1 day earlier than you) and was also approved on the spot. However, I did not receive any paper or stamp from the IO. I got my Welcome notice in the mail on Tuesday. Online status has not been change since then and they are the same as yours.

I am in need of a proof to show my permanent resident status (obviously the Welcome Notice is not adequate) so I am wondering if there is any possible way we can do to inquire about the status of card production? I am thinking of Infopass.

    Thoughts anyone?

  6. Greetings,

I know this question maybe redundant but I am just wondering how long does it take you guys to get the green card after you got approved during your AOS interview. I have look into some members' timelines and it seems like it could take 6 days, 9 days, 10 days or even a month to touch the green card.

And also, from interview approval to green card, does the online case status always work like this:

Day--: Interview, approved, Case status changed

Day--: Card is ordered, Welcome Notice mailed <------ is there any difference between "card is ordered" and "card in production" ?

Day--: Card is picked up by USPS, tracking number will follow <----- does this status always show up on the online USCIS system?

    Day--: Green card on hand

    Thanks everyone in advance

  7. I just got approved last week for my I-485. My situation was very similar to yours. I am attending law school full time in the West Coast and my wife (girlfriend back then) is working in the East Coast. We only get to see each other every other month for about a week each time. I filed our forms with DIFFERENT addresses. The officer who interviewed us did not ask why we live separately (obviously because I am attending school out of state) but she did ask about how we spend time with each other and how many times we have seen each other.....and some other questions along that line.

    my thoughts to you:

    - You can use 1 address but you have to be able to prove that such address is the final place, where you guys will reside after all

    - Look into processing time line to decide where is a better place (office), either PA or MD, to filed as your address. If you are not in hurry for this AOS process than ignore this

    - Gather information regarding each trip you guys visit each other (flight ticket, gas pumping receipt, everything....)

    - Be honest and detail during the interview.

  8. I'm a late July filer so I guess I should join this topic. My case moved fairly fast at the beginning until I change my address online (see my timeline). I guess my case was put back in the queue as I move to a different state. The effect of changing address (and perhaps moving back and forth between Testing/Interview and Initial Review) is 14 days of more waiting I assume.

However, I asked everyone on this forum awhile back about where my interview would take place (I and my wife live separately for now as I go to school in different state). Most answers were saying that interview should take place near the location I report as domicile in my package (I file my wife's address as domicile). If that is the case, then why USCIS shifts my case back from Testing/Interview to Initial Review when I change my address. Please note that I only change the address for I-485, I-765 and I-131 (since my wife is still staying where she's at) . Anyone is familiar with this? is the interview is going to be scheduled at the office near my location right now?

    Thanks

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is my timeline (AOS from F1):

    July 28 - Day 0 : Mailed the package

July 30 - Day 2: Package arrived, Signed GLws

    August 1 - Day 4: Text/email of acceptance

August 3 - Day 6: Hard copies of NOAs

August 10 - Day 13: Mail regarding biometrics appointment for August 24

August 15 - Day 18: Biometrics walk-in successful in DIFFERENT location, took 10 minutes

August 27 - Day 30: Case status moved to Testing/Interview

    September 2 - Day 36: Change address online AR-11

September 9 - Day 43: Case status (I-485) moved back to Initial Review

September 10 - Day 44: Case status moved again to Testing/Interview

  9. Thank you for the answers.

I am not intending to lie about my address My main concern was should I made change to all or just the 3 forms which I received NOAs for. I have not received scheduling information yet, only the status changed to Interview/Test stage. I wanted to change address so that I could receive the interview schedule mail correctly ( as I am not sure if that mail will be sent to my address or my wife's address.

  10. Hi VJers,

So I got a notice from UCIS last night that my I-485 application has moved to Testing/Scheduling, exactly 30 days after I submitted my AOS package from F1. However, I am having a big question about moving and changing of address before interview, please someone with the knowledge help me to clear this doubt:

Long story short, I am about to move back to state X after my summer research internship in state Y. My wife is residing in state Z. We live in separate states because I am attending graduate school. Last month I filed my package from state Y and 3 NOAs (I-485, I-131 and I-765) were sent to my address in state Y. Meanwhile, my wife received a NOA for I-130 at the address in state Z (which is the address I stated in the application that we will live together).

As I have to move back to state X for the final year of school, I intend to change my address with UCIS via online tool. My understanding is that I only have to change address for the 3 forms: I-131, I-485 and I-765 since my wife is not moving , IS THIS CORRECT? or do I have to CHANGE ALL?

Also, does anyone know if this change of address will put me back in the waiting line for interview scheduling?

Thank you in advance and feel free to ask me questions or anything.

  11. I have 1 cover letter for the whole package and seperate content lists for each of the forms. These content lists will be stapled to the cover of the folders

I used tabs at the begining but it just looks too colorful to me so I decided to place each forms along with supporting evidence into folders instead (the folder is similar to the one shown below but mine is very light and easy to open). Total there are 4 folders for I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131.

  12. Hi VJ members,

It's been a stressful week trying to put together this package and as a result I am no longer trusting my eyes :). I would really appreciate if anyone could help to go through the list and see if there is anything I am missing.

    Thank you all in advance.

  13. Hope you all are doing well with your AoS processes. I'm planning on getting my I-693 ready so I just wanted to ask if you have any suggestion for an affordable civil surgeon in Seattle area (Seattle, Tukwila, Renton, Burien, Federal Way...)?

I called a couple of places and seemed like the price they quoted ($250 , without any vaccination) was a little higher than what I've seen ppl on VJ paid for their I-693 examination.

Also, if you know where I can take those required vaccinations (MMR, TB....) in advance for a cheap price please advice. I read through the King County Public Health Website but information presented on there is rather vague.

    Thank you all in advance.

  14. Hi all,

I'm in the midst of preparing for my AOS application (from F1) and came across several confusions that I would like to clear out of my head before going deeper into the process. If any of you have experience in these situations before or have some advice for me please feel free to. My questions are:

    1. Me and my wife we got married last April and currently live away from each other due to my internship (I'm doing Grad school). I go to school in CA and she is living in TX but we do see each other on a monthly basis. As I have another 1 year of school to go, I am wondering if that "living away from each other" would be an issue when I file for my AOS?

    2. Should we send out the application from CA or TX? I will still be in CA for my internship and last year of grad school so I thought it maybe helpful (saving money on flight ticket) to send out application from CA so that I can take biometrics here.

    3. My understanding is that as soon as my AOS is filed, my F1 status will be revoked so what would happen if my AOS got rejected? is it going to affect my international student status at all?

    4. Has anyone used rapidvisa.com's service before? I'm curious if they are a legitimate business.

    Any comments/advices is much appreciated.
