I ended up filing online and it was super easy, fast, and streamlined. I got no RFE and I got my citizenship without problems back in June. Good luck

In the end I filed electronically and it is incredibly simple and so nice to review your case or add documents to your application even after submitting!

Biometrics Oct 20th

Now I wait for an interview. USCIS projecting March interview (Yakima, WA)

Filed Sept 30th, have biometrics appt on Oct 20th in Yakima, WA

Estimated completion time on USCIS website is Feb 2021 ~ 4.5 months.

Applying after 5+ years due to divorcing in 2018.

Have any of you filed after divorce? Any troubles?

Also, I have a trip booked out of town from 25 Sept to 5 Oct. If my biometrics gets scheduled during a time that you're not available, can it be rescheduled? This is literally my only time away for the entire year!! If I file this weekend (12 Sept or so) and biometrics are being scheduled a couple weeks after application submission, that would put my would-be biometrics appt smack in the middle of my vacation. Thoughts? Maybe I delay filing for a week so as to minimise the possibility?

Hi all,

I'll eligible to apply for my N-400 online or by paper. A couple of things:

1. I'm filing under the 5-year rule; I have my 10-year green card but am now divorced from my American spouse. I reached the 5-year mark in April 2020. Just now getting to applying (and beating the fee increase on 2 Oct!)

2. I don't particularly care about the speed (cause it's all taking forever anyways  ) but I want to make sure that if I file online, there is somewhere to upload supporting documents (extra lines for addresses/jobs etc)

3. Anyone else out there applied whilst divorced? Did you provide a copy of your divorce decree? Anything else I need to know?

4. With the N-400, am I supposed to provide supporting documents (divorce papers, letter from counselor saying we attended marriage counselling sessions, anything else??) like we had to do with all the other applications in this last 5 years?

I would love your thoughts on any/all of the above. I have the paper one all filled out but online seems smoother and more streamline if I can upload what need and provide supporting docs if needed. Thanks so much all!

Hey Everyone!

I received this 2 days ago. No text notification, just a change in status email. CSC applicant, and was never transferred. 

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but last week, I called USCIS and asked them what was going on. They didn't have a real answer for me but did say they would send an inquiry to my local office (Yakima, WA) saying that it was taking awhile to get any movement on my case. Then this week, lo and behold, an approval!

No updates here, just the every 3 week email saying they are still reviewing my case and there are no updates at this time. Mid-Feb 2017 filer, CSC, no transfers. 

Sigh....

Wabbajack, I get these every week as well, and I have never sent and inquiry. 

Thanks for the quick info Name O Boy! Yep, last I heard I was lucky enough to be CSC too. No transfer for me. I know that if I hadn't receive a letter by 28 March, I could fill out the "outside of expected processing time" form online. I didn't bother. Any sense in doing this do you all think? A few questions for you because I can't keep up with this thread every day  and would love a quick summary:

1. Anyone else seeing that today, still, the USCIS site is completely down? I can't make an infopass appt, or access my account. Anyone know what this is about? My GC expires on 30 April, which is pretty close, and I need to get an infopass appt for another extension (sigh... the degree of incompetence is beginning to really get to me. .... However, this stuff is making national news with some frequency I'm hearing on the radio).

2. I have never received an email saying my case has been transferred (I only filed 451, not citizenship stuff with it) however, I receive random emails, sometimes two a day, saying that there has been no change in my case and that the last date that it was worked on was March 13th ... Any idea what this is doing other than just rubbing it in that they haven't worked on my case for over a month?

3. Has ANYONE on here who filed in Feb 2017 gotten their ROC approved?

Whoa, I logged on to see if you all were having any updates to your I-751 status/conditions removed, but I can't really trace back through all the posts to anything that gives me that answer :)..

So, my I-741 was received and processed on 17 Feb, 2017. Are us Feb filers starting to get our 10 year GC in the mail? I looked at my online case status but no change there. What's the word, good people? Catch me up on what you guys are experiencing, learning, finding out!

Well, I never thought I would be asking this question, but here I am.

After 3 years of marriage, my american husband is asking for a divorce. We jointly filed our ROC papers back in the spring, not thinking we were heading for divorce. Everything has been in good faith etc. However, my question is what do we do? What do I do?

Divorce has not been filed, and maybe we won't for a bit. I'm not sure. But what are my obligations and/or what should I expect with the ROC pending? Our application and paperwork submitted was pretty strong I think (own a home, a business, etc etc together) so "maybe" we won't get called for an interview? I'm just so confused what all this means moving forward with this immigration stuff. I really appreciate any help you can give me. From what I can understand, it looks like the speedy folks at uscis won't be touching our case until early next year.

Hi August 2014 filers!

Question for everyone here, and maybe this isn't the place to ask it. 

But, I'm sure that you all, like me, put in your paperwork for ROC this spring, and have had biometrics done. Does anyone have any idea how long this part of the process takes? I know we're given an extension to our green cards for 1 year, and that some people have interviews, some not, but does anyone know what we're looking at here in terms of timeframe?

We had our interview on 29 April, and were approved on 30 April. Our interview was less than 10 minutes long, and the IO talked about Nepal for at least 4 of those minutes! He practically asked us nothing, and it was really easy and simple. The only questions he asked were:

1) What is your (own) phone number (to me, non-USC)

2) What is your address

3) The usual "are you a terrorist" questions

4) To my husband, the USC, "do you still have a PO Box in California?"

5) Do either of you have children? (he asked this at least twice)

6) Is this the first time you've worn a tie (to my USC husband)?

As we are both big travellers, he advised that I document all of my travels in case I decide to apply for citizenship at a later date. He then said "well, I guess you won't be going to Nepal", which we both thought was a little tasteless. We then talked about Nepal.

This officer was a bit of an odd duck. During our interview, he took a piece of tape and started picking up all the dust on his desk, saying that if he didn't, he would be sneezing by afternoon. It was a little distracting. He also didn't want any more evidence than that from our application, but said "well, I'm supposed to ask, and, being the good bureaucrat that I am, let's just say that I asked you for it. Yeah, let's go with that". Honestly, it seemed like he already had his mind made up about us even before we went in for the interview.

Anyways, that was our interview experience. We're thankful that it went well and that the green card is in the mail. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

My interview is on 29 April. We got a text saying there had been an update on our case. Then, online, it said our interview had been scheduled for 29 April. It does not say the time or location. You have to wait for the actual letter for those details. But yes, you do know the date as soon as it changes in the website.

I needed to obtain copies of my ds 2019 as well and my employers copies of all my ds 2019s for 10 years. I imagine your school/ employer will have copies. If not,perhaps SEVIS has a copy.

And, just like that, an interview notice! I posted to this thread yesterday how I was at 4.5 months waiting. Interview scheduled for 29 April in Denver. Crazy.
