  1. Any December filers still waiting at Texas? We've been waiting 238 days for our NOA2 and every time I check Igor's List on visajourney all I can see is that people from January and February are getting approved. It's so devastating. We called USCIS a week ago and all they said was our case is still processing 'normally' and just because people are getting approved after us doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with our case.

    :crying:

  2. You should receive an email and/or txt within a few days to a week of the Lockbox receiving the packet? See my timing below.

Did your fiance include form g-1145? Did your fiance have tracking on the package?

damn yeah something must be up with ours then :(

we didn't do the g-1145, that wasn't in the check list we were following...eek. Is it just to get text/email alerts or could our application get sent back for not having it?

He says that he did pay for tracking on it... but he hasn't checked the number yet to see if/when it was delivered. I'm so anxious I wish I could check myself.

The visa fee has not been taken out of his account either, has yours?

We got out NOA1 just like 6days after we sent our package,

My fiancé got an email when the lockbox had it and then a few days after we received another email the NOA1 (still waiting for hard copy but. It's been about a week from last email now)

How long ago did you submit your packet? We definitely haven't had the hard copy of the letter and the money has not been charged from his account. It looks as though we missed the form that does email/text alerts :(

  3. Hello, I will be getting married next year (hopefully), me and my fiancé are just about to submit the K1 paperwork (He is American and I am from the UK). I really want to do my masters however once I get married I'll have a conditional green card for 2 years before being able to apply for the green card. During this conditional period would I still be able to apply for a masters (and get the residents fee) or would I have to apply for a F1 visa...or wait two years till the actual green card comes through. All very confusing, please help if you can :)

  4. I have taken one that is 2 inches by 2inches (51 x 51 mm), will this get rejected? Does it just need to be the smaller, usual passport size?

    (45 millimetres ( mm ) high by 35mm)

Here is the site I was using for guidance but I found it a little confusing :/ http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/general/photos.html

...and yes we are trying to do the visa forms ourselves :)

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  5. Hi all,

I am new to this site but so far have found it an invaluable resource (the K1 visa timelines and example forms are great). I got engaged about a month ago to an American man and I was just wondering what people's thoughts were on getting a lawyer? I would really appreciate advice from those who didn't go though the lawyer route to see how they found it.

Ours should be a straight forward case, no criminal records or anything. I have had a couple of J1 visas in the past but I don't think that would affect anything.

Was this site enough to do your K1 visa journey without a lawyer?

I'm a little worried that things might get confusing when it comes to preparing the affidavit of support and AOS..

    Advice is welcome!!!

    Thanks!!
