This is really disappointing...but to be honest, I'm hardly surprised; empty promises again.
Abandoning his pledge to act by the end of summer, President Barack Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration until after the November congressional elections, White House officials said.
http://news.msn.com/us/apnewsbreak-obama-to-delay-immigration-action
There is nothing to be disappointed about. This bill does nothing to all of us trying to get into the country legally, it is basically a bill to give amnesty to thousands of illegals while we are left out here waiting and paying more fees. The sole purpose of this bill is to turn Texas and other red states into blue states
I just can't wait to vote Republican

Thank you for sharing this info and for keeping our hopes up

Hey everyone I just wanna let you know that my B1/B2 visa was approved. Thank you for your guidance <3

Is your case completed?? If yes, then how come you dnt knw abt COA, its the very first step taken by NVC to start the consular processing from COA to Interview at last??
If your case is not completed or its nt started yet. Then, its a high time for you blow the whistle buddy. You are goin to be current soon, and this consular processing is a lengthy process it requires time, money and resources in gathering many required documents and filling out different forms by both applicant and petitioner. You need to check with NVC and poke them continuously if ur nt done with it yet.
My bad, I just asked my dad about this COA and he told me that he filed it a long time ago.
-
COA - Choice of Agent Form. When you receive that by NVC, it means you have entered in consular processing and your case will be completed in upcoming 9-10 months. Google it to see how does it look ...
my PD is in Aug007 and I don't think I received this COA

Quote....Can I hide the fact I have immigrant petition pending, this
contradict all U R now saying ...Quote I don't want to wait 7 mths.
If its on the up & up Y fish here on how to deceive...But go ahead
and apply as U said U will U may get lucky in not disclosing the
facts, who knows many things may fall thru the cracks ...good luck
The keyword is may, but what if I get caught. I thought the worst thing they could do is a slap on the wrist, visa rejection and telling me to apply again, which after reading your comments seems inevitable. It kinda pisses me off because all my colleagues who have applied with similar credentials to mine minus the immigrant visa could easily get a 5 year multiple entry b1/b2 visa. Still, I aint willing to compromise my entire future for a slight chance that I may slip through the cracks. Oh no sir, "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime :-)"
Let us know how it goes
I sure will

What's an AOS, can I attend the interview in the US instead of the American embassy in my home country and how does that contradict my first statement. My plan was to take the tourist visa, do a couple of months externship and then return to my home country a few days before the interview, get my Green Card and then return to the US to finish my training instead of pissing away 6 precious months waiting for a GC.claiming you will return for an interview instead of doing an AOS is not believeable....way too many people have 'forgotten' to return and instead have had the ever popular 'mind change' that seems to befall them at baggage claim. An interview for an immigrant visa is NOT considered a strong reason (nor any reason) to return to one's country....and besides, your last statement is in direct conflict with your first posting.
since you were so willing to 'hide the fact' that an immigrant visa is pending is a strong indicator that you have zero intentions of ever returning if granted a B1/B2 visa...

One can do an unpaid 'observership' on a B1, but what will matter to the CO is not WHY you want to go to the US, but WHY you will return instead of camping out waiting for the immigrant visa. AGain, your future plans about your career is not up for consideration when applying for a B1/B2 visa...what matters the most is convincing the CO you will return to your own country...and that sounds like it will not be the case....what reasons (that are credible) could you give? You don't have a job, your family lives in the US....
I'll tell the CO the story as it is and explain to her what I will be doing in the coming months and how vital it is for my application. Of course, I will return to my country because I have an interview for an immigrant visa in a few months time, which IMO is a better motive than having a job. I will only try once and hope it works
Thank you all for clarifying this point and stopping me from making the biggest mistake in my life.

unpaid externship ? IF it is something that is normally a paid you can't legally do it as unpaid on a visitors visa
Externship is a type of US clinical experience in which you pay a fee in return of getting medical training in a hospital or a clinic. I just wanted to clarify that I wont be getting any money, on the contrary, I will be paying 2k/month for this
-
Thank you everyone for your reply. I guess I wont be going through with it. Honestly, I never thought it had such a grave consequences but I will apply, nevertheless, for a B1/B2 visa because it's extremely important for my future to have at least some medical experience in the US before I apply for residency in Sep 2015. I will explain my situation in details to the visa officer and bring along with me a letter from the ECFMG to prove that I have an exam to attend. Hopefully, I will get my visa then
-
Hey everyone this is my first post here , I'm an IMG ( international medical graduate) and I've already completed my step 1 and step 2 ck exam with good scores and I want to apply to Sep 2015 Match. I'm intending to travel to the US to attend my step 2 CS exam and do an unpaid externship. The thing is, my whole family are American citizens, with my mom and two brothers currently residing in the US. I have have an immigrant visa application at the NVC and I'm expecting to get my Green Card in approx~5-7 months. If I want to apply for a B1/B2 visa right now, what are my chances of getting it, because honestly I don't want to waste 7 precious months (maybe more) waiting for my GC if I could be doing something (externship, observership, medical research) to improve my chances of getting into residency in the US. BTW, and I'm not getting paid while staying in the US and I'm not doing anything illegal. Can I hide the fact that I have an immigrant visa application and that I have relatives in the US and just choose "NO relatives" in my DS-160 form or will I be getting myself into trouble.Plz advise me

VB is out and there is a 1 week movement
-
The immigration timeline on this website predicts a movement till the 8th of May. Last month it predicted a movement till the 17th of April
-
I am wondering where we will fall look at these movements in the past
2010 August - September 5 months
2011 August - September no movement
2012 August - September 2 months
2013 August - September 14 days
What's your guess for this movement?
i'll be content with no movement
-
Is there any chance that there could be a forward movement this month and when will this God damned bulletin be released.
-
This is because everyone is loading on F1 boat, F2b is empty right now and sailing ahead ...
We especially those who converted our cases frm F2b to F1 has become fools literally. But, why these people dont understand this problem and they should allocate numbers equally in both categories if F2b's numbers are remained unused ... both categories has 23,400 numbers each for a given year these numbers can be used efficiently if planned well while budgeting.
Moreover, they have fasten up the Philippines and Mexicans F1 dates this year, those F1s moved superbly you can check them by comparing Oct 2013 bulletin with this august 2014 dates.
Maybe, this slowdown happens in attempt to incite the boost of those dead categories of Philippines and Mexico. Additionally, the numbers of applicants (Unmarried Son & Daughter over 21) are same in this world but their status has changed over the period of time, and this inequality and bias behavior is new to this hundred years old immigration system which urgently requires some major amendments to over come this kinda issues.
This aint' something we have control over. I would change my status to back F2b in a split second if I could. Unfortunately, no one outside the Philippines seems to be aware of CASPA and you know more about this issue than any of us
-
So are you saying that we are looking at a possible no movement or god forbids a retrogression.
-
I've been doing some research about this issue and here's what I came up with:
From the U.S. Department of State: Consular Affairs FB page it states:
We have made significant progress and issued most of the worldwide backlog of nonimmigrant visa cases. We are working to bring the Consular Consolidated Database back to full operational capacity. We continue to prioritize immigrant visas, adoption cases, and emergency nonimmigrant visa cases. We are printing visas for these cases with very few delays.
We are aware of a small number of visa cases still in process because of system performance issues. We are working diligently to clear those cases.
Visa applicants are advised they might still experience delays of up to one week in addition to normal processing times. Applicants should take this into consideration when making travel plans.
Please check with the embassy or consulate where you will apply for additional information.and in response to my question on whether the PD movement will be affected by this glitch they said no this problem has no effect on PD movement.
