  1. I came from CAnada on a K1 visa in October. I was married and filed my AOS right away. I have my EAC and SSN. I have been fingerprinted and I received a letter this past week stating USCIS is 6 months behind so my interview may be waived. I have been trying to get a Kansas driver's license for months now, each time being told something completely different. Today. We thought we had everything. Went to a DL office, ran through SAVE and it said I need further verification!!!??? We talked to a supervisor and she made copies of everything and said she'd call us, that we had to wait till the AOS went through. Has anyone dealt with Kansas drivers licensing before? Does anyone have any insight or info? Thanks!

  2. We were approved yesterday :) the medical and consular interview were not difficult and we were approved right away . I will provide a write up of our experience in the proper forum if anyone wants to read the process we've gone through :) thanks for a the help here!

  3. Interview and medical booked! Less than two weeks to go. The information from dr cheema says this...3.On or before exam day Applicants must provide the APPOINTMENT LETTER that shows your Name and Case number and Interview date and CONFIRMATION EMAIL that verifies your interview date and time , your name and place of interview. I got a confirmation email, do I receive a paper copy of the appointment letter or what are they asking for? Thanks!

  4. So I got the letter telling me I can book an appointment today. Can someone tell me, do I have to pay the fee of 240 for each of us, my three children and I , so 240x4 or is it just the fee of 240 for me to apply? Thanks !

  5. It took about a week until my fiancé received notification that our petition was received at NVC and that I could go ahead and complete the DS 160. About 10 days after that I received a letter stating I could download packet three from their website. I'd already snooped it all out so I knew what I needed. Packet three requires you have the DS 160 done because you need the receipt number for it. I would recommend you go ahead and look at all those forms to make sure you've got all the information you need to avoid any delays. I will send in the packet three in a couple of days and then hopefully receive info on making an appointment! We are actually using an immigration lawyer who is helping us along on all this. So if I can help provide any insight into the process let me know ! :)

  6. More questions :) I saw my dr yesterday about getting a letter from

Her regarding the medicine I take and my medical records. She told me that she needs an official letter asking for it? Do we get one of those? She also said I could print out the info from the uscis site and submit my signed letter requesting the information. Thanks!

  7. I'm very excited as our case seems to be finally moving along! We are at the stage where the NVC has forwarded our case to the nearest consulate in Vancouver. I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can answer :)

    1) How long does the process "usually" take from here? 2) Does anyone here have recent experience with the Vancouver consulate, specifically having to book a medical and consulate appointment close together? I and my kids have to travel 2000 kms to get to BC and we need to have the timing work out well. Does anyone have any advice in how best to do this? I guess another question is am I given an appointment date or do I make one myself? I appreciate any help anyone can give us! Thanks in advance :)
