Chances are random, but if you get selected you will be fine.

Its diffrent in Every embassy, my bank statement was on savings I deposited 3 month earlier. Good luck
Was there a date mentioned on the statement when the account was opened, and how much money there was at first? Did you attach the history of the account? I am asking, coz i have one year old savings but There is like $3000 only at this stage.

The response you will get here is not going to be different from what you already got from the other forum where you originally first posted this question.
I did not know there may be such a question. Could you please provide the response for me and other people to be aware in case we are asked at the interview? Thank you.

In our consulate playing the lottery has a strong impact on any non-immigrant visa application, as it shows that you already have a mind of immigrating.
-
I think it all depends on your embassy, but I think you can

I actually didn't pay much attention and answered no for both me and my husband, as I didn't fully understand the question. Is it going to be a big deal???

All J1s are a subject of a 2-year home residence requirement.
Sorry I missed, all J1 are a subject of a 2 year home residence requirement, if the US gov sposored your program, or if you came to receive medical edu. or training, or if the skills you are developing are in the field which your own gov. requested to be included in the skill list set by DOS.

Once you have submitted the DS-260 forms for you and your accompanying family members, you must then submit your required civil documents, photographs and embassy-specific documents to the NVC.
If your case is NOT processing electronically, please submit your documents to:
National Visa Center
Attn: CMR/DR
31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914
If your case IS processing electronically, please scan and email your documents to: NVCElectronic@state.gov
NVC does not deal with the DV lottery, KCC is in charge of that.

I just called KCC, and I finally got a normal person on the line. She was really friendly and didn't give 'pre-fabricated' answers.
She told me there is indeed a little delay, but there is nothing to worry about. Of course the DS260 submission in May was a little late (normal submission starts at the start of May), and now sometimes it takes up to 12 weeks (so about 3 months) for them to process the DS260.
They process them as they come in! So in that order.
She assured me people that are current have NOTHING to worry about, and they will get the second notification when your DS260 is processed, but because of the big backlog, this takes a while. You will probably have your interview in a later month as well....
Did you get your lterview letter just today?

First you said you're not sure, you think you heard, now you have exact numbers... Whatever, the rationale is nonsense. If the story is true your friend got taken advantage of, I'm guessing however he didn't read the guide for new immigrants on the DoS website because I'm sure it explains these things.
Could you please send me the link for the guide??

Sadly, of course it's possible. Why in earth would someone be allowed to pay a person less because they don't have their card - their card is just *proof* of status not the status itself and they should have had other proof of that eg the stamped immigrant visa. Don't know enough about the ins and outs but if they were paid less than minimum wage on false pretenses they should be able to report the employer. If they were paid above minimum but agreed to work for those wages not sure what they can do.
I don't know about the min/max rates, but he was getting paid $5 hourly instead of $10 in Los Angeles, until he got his green card.

Please stop posting false information.
I am not posting false information. I said, I am not sure, but I have heard

Yet another green card urban legend. I've not heard this one before!
Of course not. People who get paid half of what they should would be those who don't have a green card because they're illegal....
Then probably the ones that I know were cheated. ??????????
Is it possible?
-
If you think you do not have enough proof for the consulate, you still have to add her to your case as your spouse, even though she is not immigrating with you. But you will still have to explain to the consulate why she is not immigrating with you!
-
Congrats on your successful interview!
I am not sure but I have heard those who haven't received their greens yet, get paid half the price of which they actually supposed to.
Is there someone who is aware of such a thing?
-
Thanks! Idea Mani. I submitted my ds260 the next day it became available so i think i´m good with that. BUT, if my interview is in OCT shouldn´t I have had received the scheduling message by now?
Don't worry you will probably receive it this month to be interviewed in Nov. You are not alone. Many people were current for Oct. but didn't receive an interview date. That's probably KCC did not manage to process the forms on time .
-
This is what they answered me...
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.
-
But will they still be any interviews directed to take place in October???
-
I wonder why they put such a high cutt-off number for October...
-
Hi all,
I am a 2015 dvselectee with case # : AF11**. If am not mistaken , i shall expect my interview some time in October. I sent my Ds-260 on July the 4th. howeverm, o far, i haven't receive any mail or feedback regarding the interview schedule. Is that normal? Do i have to worry, just wait or make a move ? what do you suggest?
Thanks in advance,
You are not alone. Many people like you still did not receive their interview letter. We all will probably get it this month.
-
What if the answer is wrong, will that cause any problem during the interview? Can I jsut say that I am not sure if it is yes or not?
