Anyone with the recent experience with I-130 Expedite process? How long it takes from the time expedite process is approved till the actual approval?
-
Before posting this I did my best to find answers on this forum, because the question I am looking the answer for may be very frequent. I only found one relevant topic, which was relatively old and I have doubts it applies to the situation. I'd rather hear the recent experiences if you are kind to share them. Question is very simple: if applicants I-130 gets approved for expedited processing at USCIS does it mean that when USCIS transfers the case to NVC that it will inherit the expedited status?

I got approved yesterday thanks good! Good luck with your journey.
Congratulations - it was long overdue for you, wish you a smooth part 2 journey.

At this time Texas SC is the slowest place for i-130... I wonder why is that? Is Texas short on staff? Is it overloaded with some other priority? Unfortunately NBC stopped case shuffling among service centers or else there would be case transfers to others as Texas clearly lags... So wish Texas SC goes quickly despite all the pessimism...

Texas is doing amazing!! It has caught up with everyone else...you should be hearing from them next month.
I sure hope you are right, but it is a little discouraging when I hear that Texas is still doing early December when others (VSC, CSC) are processing at this time within 3 month and some even faster...

I just got off the phone with USCIS and they told me for the TSC the last case they worked was dated 12/3/13 and they had 5,000 applications and just 4 cases for 12/4/13. Just an FYI for anyone currently waiting for NOA2 In TSC.
My priority date is 12/11/13 so Im patiently waiting and more hopeful.
also they recently updated their website and states time frame is 5mos now.
Do you mean that as of today the total number of I-130 cases at TSC is just 5000? Or do you mean that there are 5000 I-130 cases with PD in December 2013?

I think many here may be confused about what exactly "The auto-expedite for people filing from abroad" means?
Here is what I know based on my research and I will be very happy to learn from you if you know this subject better and can make comments:
1) Prior to a big pile up of i-130 petitions in 2013 there was no problem in I-130 processing and this filing from abroad or from US was not such a big issue that anyone paid any attention to. Besides sometimes in the past people who interviewed abroad would file with Embassy directly and get faster processing.
2) After the big pile up of i-130 petitions in 2013 when wait time went to almost a year, several things happened that worsened the situation and one of which was the fact that with a rare exception people from abroad could no longer file directly with Embassy/Consulate and had to go through NVC, which contributed its share to the delays. This is when finally NVC/USCIS introduced a line in I-130 form that asked if applicant will interview in US or abroad (at Embassy/Consulate) - in case applicant does interview abroad (at Embassy/Consulate), which is the case for majority of people filing a standalone I-130 then it would make sense to do "auto-expedite" for this cases to unclog the situation with piled up i-130s.
The question "filing from abroad?" needs to be "interview abroad requested?"
I am extremely happy for everyone who gets such a quick approval in less than a month, but I at the same time notice that not all applications that have interview abroad requested follow the same timeline - this seems like a problem of consistency, which is another sign of haphazard attempts of USCIS to try and fix the situation with delays and at the same time balance other extra priorities that were imposed on them without giving them extra resources - this is my personal opinion, not a fact.

I am all for decreasing a time for i-130 processing, but I and probably many thousands of others cannot use your petition, because it starts with "I am a US citizen, my spouse is in a foreign country..."
I and many others like me are sponsoring Parents and other categories of relatives of US citizens who undergo the SAME i-130 processing by USCIS with the SAME priority of processing as you do and while I and others would want to join you in petitioning for an improved I-130 time the text of petition needs to be changed to reflect other categories as well.
