  1. Hello All,

We are preparing to jointly file for my DH ROC this month, and compiling the primary evidence. We have been counting on bank statements for this purpose, and went into the branch earlier this week to get some official documentation of our joint accounts as well. While at the bank they told us that we should just print our statements through their online banking system and that they couldn't provide any official documentation beyond that regarding joint accounts. Today, we logged into our online banking system to print the statements for the last few years, we have four accounts jointly, and it reflects when we each log into the system or when we go to the bank, but when we download the statements for printing, they only indicate the primary account holder name (our bank requires a primary even if a joint account)... I am concerned this will not be acceptable proof!

We do have other evidence such as a joint filed taxes, and both names on our lease agreement, both names on our auto insurance, but not much else, as all bills for our utilities, etc. were established in my name prior to my DH moving, and when we recently purchased a new car, we decided to put it just under my name as we plan to get another car in a few months in his name for credit reasons.. Maybe some of our health insurance and other employer benefits in which we list each other as primary beneficiary?

Am I worried about nothing? Should we pursue some affidavits? Suggestions welcome!

My car is under my husband's name (he is the citizen, I did not have credit good enough back when we bought it), but the car insurance is in both our names, and I believe you can do that easily with your insurance company and send the insurance policy or card. The health insurance is a great idea, I sent that on my file.

About the bank statements, go to your branch and they can make you a letter showing your accounts, how long it has been open and that you both are part of it.

If you're still not sure about the amount of proofs, I recommend you get 2 letters of affidavit from family members or friends. This website has some samples and it is something else to add. Don't forget to include photos of you two in different places, among people and etc.

I think that would give you some peace of mind!

  3. Hello everyone!

After 2 years inactive, back to VisaJourney to start my Journey with my I-751 application. Good to see some folks from when I was applying for my spouse visa! :goofy:

My husband and I are gathering documents...probably sending everything next week.

    questions..

1- do we have to send a copy of the letter I received to remove my conditions?

2- is it 1 check with the total amount of the form+biometrics?

3- should I send some pictures?

4- we don't have any children. Do I have to check every box in that section N/A or can I just leave it blank?

    Thank you!

  4. Hi there!

Just passing by to say hi and send my love and prayers to all of you. Happy to see many of you with CC and interview date...Soloenta my dear, I'm excited for you to see your hubby!! Natasha&Noor hang in there guys, your time is about to come and then it will be pure joy!

I found a job already (YEEEY!!) and I'm working at the same school district as my husband, which is good, so now we have the same breaks and time off.

I just wish everyone happiness and a life long with your beloved ones.

Hang in there guys, be strong and the reward is beyond amazing.

  5. I'm here!!! Hello from America! I can barely believe it. Sorry if the format of this post is all wonky, doing it from my phone because I haven't even unpacked my laptop yet.

My wife is here sleeping right next to me and I can't seem to fall asleep but it doesn't even matter. This is absolutely wonderful.

POE was suuuuuper easy. I didn't have to make any of the lines. I walked up to the CBP staff that's always at the entrance directing people into the lines and showed them the envelope and told them I was immigrating today. They sent me to a room in the back. There were a lot of seats but no one there, just two officers. One took the electronic fingerprints and a picture, the other filled out a form for the green card that I signed and did the ink fingerprint on. No questions whatsoever, no welcome to America, no instructions, nothing. Very fast though, it took like 5 minutes. Fastest time I've ever cleared immigration. Now let's hope my green card and SSN actually get here!

Thank you so much!!! :) You're so kind. See POE info above! It was a breeze indeed. I'M HERE!!! Your time is coming very, very soon as well. :)

Gracias!!! Your interview was today? Tomorrow? Either way, good luck! You're almost there as well!

I totally messed up the formatting here I think hehe but I believe you'll see it anyway. Thanks, Soloenta!! :)

Omg, e&g what a surprise!!!! Thank you so much. :) Here's my first post from the USA! Wooooooohooooo this is amazing.

Told yaaaaaaa! Now just ENJOY and BE HAPPY!!!

    Lots of love!

    God bless you all!

  7. I just came back from my interview. APPROVED!!! I will write a better review later... but, it went really well. Had to wait for like 4 hours at the embassy (that part was torture, worst morning ever) but the actual interview was very short and the consul was super nice to me. Oh my god I can't believe it's over. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.

Congrats dear friend! I saw on VJ page that it was your interview day and I kept you in my mind and prayers. Very happy for you! Now it's time to pack and enjoy happiness!!

  8. My dear Soloenta!

  9. Dropping in to say hello! We have been in the US for 2 weeks exactly and are slowly settling in. Living at my parents' house while we look for a house and jobs. We bought a car last week, so have transportation without borrowing my parents' vehicles. They have made us feel so welcome and we are very comfortable at their house. Still feels like a vacation. I have applied for a couple of jobs, but not stressing yet, just enjoying time with family and friends. Our kids started school this week and are settling in well. I don't want them to get too settled though because when we move to a new house they will have to change schools again. They are only little, so shouldn't be too traumatic for them.

I haven't been on here forever, so not sure who is still around. Was thrilled to read about Sharksbelow case complete and so excited for Soloenta's upcoming interview!

Take care everyone and hang in there if you are still waiting on CC, it will come and your dream will come true too.

    (L):luv::goofy:

That's awesome! We had the same POE at the same airport! How odd is that?

Good to know everything is fine there, as well is here. God bless you and your family. :)

  10. Hi everyone!

Just passing by to give my prayers to all of you who are somehow waiting for something (CC, AP, interview...)

God bless you and your family, and give patience to your heart wait for the right time.

Better days are right in the corner my friends!!

Soloenta..11 days to your hubby interview....WOOOOHOAAAAA!

So excited for you my dear!

    :)

  11. Hi everyone!! Just a quick post to say: the nightmare is over!!

Yesterday I had my POE at the LAX, and it was smooth, despite the huge line I had to pass through. Later I'll make a review about it. But I wanna give you guys hope that IT WORTH IT!!!!!! It's so good to know that I don't need facetime, Skype, email or any eletronical device to see my husband!! I'm unpacking right now, but I stopped to say hi and tell you all who are still passing throught it: hang in there!! The reward is amazing!!

    :)

  12. My lovely dears from around the world.

Well all the stress, the wait, the pangs, the checking online every 2 minutes to see if CEAC is updated (take a breath) the calling, the waiting, the 'your patience is appreciated', the grumpy reps, the late night forum updates, the wait to see if someone two days before your paperwork submission got a CC, the word CC and what it means to us all. The many short forms that we now know (CEAC, CC, AP, DS-260, DS-261).

The word Checklist was the scariest word in our vocabulary.

It now has come to a close for me. We were in the embassy for merely 30 minutes before everything was closed out and the words, 'good luck with your move to Chicago' fell out of the consular officials mouth. Next week we should have his passport/visa in hand and the uphill planning and leaving will commence.

Lots of love to you all. I will try to be online as much as possible these next couple of months as I'm moving and prepping.

I pray that everyone will soon realize, just like I did, God never gives you too much where you can't handle it - whether you think you can't, you can. It may seem like a long time to be without your loved one but when you push harder and finally the wait is over, you will realize you can. This is a temporary pain that will result in happiness in the long run.

I will update my pages accordingly. Good luck! <3

Omg, so beautifully stated!! God bless you and your family with this new exciting part of the process: the one it depends all of you and your time to move!!

So happy this had a smooth closure! For sure the Universe has saved great things to us who believed in love even with all the odds against it.

My POE will be next week, I'm so excited!!!!

  13. Wohooooooo!! Congrats!! That was quick, I am really happy for you, when are u planning on doing the POE?? are you like eating a lot of brazil goodies before leaving?? :content: hows your dad my friend??

It was very fast right? Can't complain. Thanks a lot my dear.

Well book the flight tonight, but I'm really hoping to do my POE next week already! Too much time without my hubby, we can't wait to be with each other!

Omg, I'm already missing the food here! Haha good thing is in California there are a lot of Brazilian markets, so once a while (aka every week!) I can stop by and get some flavours from home!

My dad is doing great! He's eating so healthy and exercising now (thing that didn't exist befor the heart attack).

God really blessed us with this opportunity to be together on the hard times and now share the happiness!

Thank you so much for your kindness and support my friend! May God bless you!
