  1. If you are already married the visa will be rejected and your so called fiancee will get a denial letter with her passport in the mail. The US embassy is linked to the internal government system and they will find out. The case will go back to NVC and it will be closed due to the expiration of the petition.

If you are not married and you have submitted the adequate documentation it will be approved within a week.

Thank you for the info. If you don't mind asking, is this legit answer? Like are you sure of it?

  2. Hello All,

I hope someone here can assist me with my situation. My Fiance went for an interview today at the US Embassy in Cairo. Everything was fine, 3-4 questions were asked then the consular took her passport and said that they will have to do more investigations and they will let her know.

She asked if she wasrejected or something went wrong and the consular told he that she is not rejected and not to worry. I checked her case online and i found that she is under AP now.

Does anyone know how long this will take and what is happening here?

    Thank you

  3. Oh My! That is a very long time. I think they don't want anyone to break their record of the longest processing time. so, it still doesn't show that your documents have been received? I see two people saying that it has changed within 2 days. I guess the lucky one you are talking about! Ha

Lol no, I meant 3 months for the interview date. Mine was received within 2 days too! The lucky ones are who just started the case in July 2014 and now they have their hubby in US already lol. I don't know how it works but I have seen cases much faster than others. Mine considered from the pretty slow side! I check my emails every an hour. I wake up in middle of night just to look at it.

The issue is you don't know what is the time frame so you can be prepared and the bad thing is I have heard some folks applied for K1 visa and they were declined just because they didn't have enough evidence or becUse the counselor didn't believe that they are not married yet or they would leave egypt without getting married first...Nightmare!

  4. So, before I pull my hair out, can anyone tell me, how long does it normally take the embassy to post the documents status on the dashboard/ profile? should I keep waiting or keep emailing them? I don't want to piss anyone off and have our case thrown into the nearest trash can! Haha

As far as I know it takes about 3 months unless you get lucky. I have sent 10s of emails to them but nothing has happend. I even reached out to the congressman and the senator but they couldn't help either. All you have to do is to wait and pray. I have sent my package on Dec. 30th and I'm still waiting FYI.

  5. Hello All,

I thought to create this topic to share some info regarding K1 visa and scheduling interview with the US Embassy in Egypt.

I have sent all of the need documents to the embassy on December 27th,2014 and since then and i'm waiting for the interview date.

    How is everyone doing here?

Please share any info that you might have and think it is helpful or post your question.

Thank you and Good Luck to Everyone.

  6. Hmm. How do you know which counselor replies? I always get a semi-generic unsigned response! Which email address do you send your questions to? I use this one: ConsularCairoIV@state.gov

His name on the signature in all of the emails. That's the right email address. You get the generic answers because you ask generic questions. I have been back and forth with him with emails but unfortunately that didn't help in anything either.

  7. That's weird!! since Jan and until now they change your Alien number ... hmmm :clock:

it has been saying that since January and now they just changed the date but it is still saying the same

No sorry. I was asking Nina the question lol. Since she is a June filer. I'm just confirming what she wrote. I was confused by her post ?

  8. I have applied for K-1 visa in January 2014 and since then my case is in intial review. On August 8th, they have updated the case with " On August 8, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance. "

It is the same status but a different date !! can anyone help please?

    Thank you

  9. All of the paperwork for immigration will tell you not to book these things until your VISA is hand, for a very simple reason: it takes a different length of time for every case. There's no way to guarantee you won't have a request for more information, you won't sit in additional processing for who knows how long, or, as already mentioned, that the worldwide VISA processing system won't crash.

You'll have a period of up to six months to travel on your VISA after it's issued (the expiry date will be listed when you get it), and you'll have 90 days to marry after you enter the United States. You shouldn't book or schedule or pay for anything until you have the VISA (especially if you're from a high-risk country). If the time given isn't enough time to have the sort of wedding you want, you and your partner should consider having a courthouse wedding to "get legaled" soon after immigrating, and then prepare for the big church wedding at a later date.

    thanks for the advice

Yes..mine is on initial review since Jan 7th...haven't heard nothing since then..

We submitted inquiry to our Senator..but no answer yet...

Unfortunately...I feel like there's nothing we can do..but wait..

Don't lose your hopes! our turn will come...prob you first...I am so unlucky with this kind of things...

i hope it will happen soon. Are you from Egypt as well? it differs from country to another tho.
