  1. Great news guys, congrats to you.

I have a really hard situation here and don't know what else I can do.

My fiancé went for her interview in March this year, they took her passport and since that date she is still under AP. I have tried everything possible to reach out I them but never got a reply except the generic response that I have to wait. Even the senator and the governor couldn't help.

Anyone is facing the same problem or could advise or something else to do?

Note: we started our pain journey since January 2014 and I've been to egypt 6 times since we applied l. I even tried to go and talk to them at the embassy but didn't get any replies.

Thank you and sorry if I ruined your good vibes.

  2. Don't feel bad guys. It will come sooner or later. I think my situation is worse than anyone here. Me and my fiancé started our overwhelmed journey in January 2014, she had her interview on March 29. They toilet her passport and put her under AP and since that date and we've been waiting :( don't know how long more it will take. It has been very painful

  3. First congrats to you :)

I tried to call them and email them many times. They just have the same answer everytime, that it is still under administrative processing. It is very frustrating now and I'm not sure if I'm the only one that's why I'm asking.

how you didn't receive the passport until now its really weird did you try to contact the numbers on ustraveldocs ?

  4. I believe everyone has to go through Ap even if it is just to print out your visa. I think it will be fast for you since they gave you that form. My fiancé just got the paper of the information about the abuses but not the congratulations form. I wish you the best :) keep us posted please

My Case status in the NVC says Administrative processing...I don't wanna think about that cuz it could be short or long I'm just hoping(

Here's the first paragraph of the form it's says

  5. That sounds almost like my fiancé interview but they didn't give her any congratulations form. What does the form say please and what is the status of your case in the NvC now?

Thanks everybody, I hope you all get approved too. The fiance is here

First I went to the clerk or admin to put my paperwork in order and she took my medical. I did two medical exams on was on 2 April and the second after I got packet 4 on 27 of April. She said why do I have two medical it's valid for 6 months! I was well it's recommended on the embassy website to have it done 2 or 3 weeks before the interview! not my fault lol she smiled she was cool lady. She asked me do I have any newer photos I said yes. She looked at the back of the photos and told me when did you take them I said the same date on the back,, she looked back at me like that's weird lol. She told me to open the two medical exams envelopes and give her what's inside, she didn't take the CD or the vaccination record. Finally she gave me a form or a brochure about the Domestic violence and spousal abuse she said read it to know your rights in case she tried to beat you up or something hahaa whaaaat!!! I wish a **** would lol

I waited about one hour then they called my number. The interview was so stressful and long it was about half hour. The CO was a Jerk and asked about everything from A to Z but he didn't ask for any more evidence, pics, receipts, plans or any updates which made me pissed off a bit cuz I spent a lot of time preparing for it Grrr. He wasn't friendly at all like all those CO's I hear about them in the reviews being nice! He asked about all the dates and other details that I never thought he'd ask about like her boss at work and coworkers!!.He kept saying that he needs specifics so I tell him. He asked about our mutual friends, their age and how long has she known them!!! (WTTF), our differences like age, religion, political views. He didn't ask much about me or our family, most of it was about her. The last question was about my plans then I answered then he told me to hold on one second (turned out to be 5 mins) and turned off the speaker. He went to his boss they were talkin about my case. I couldn't hear anything but I can tell they were disagreeing about my case and he looked confused. His boss came to his computer and read what he everything he's been writing since the interview began, checked something on my case folder ( I think it was the medical ) then he told him something and left, I was like oh SSHIT ok give me a denial I'm tired of this!. The CO wrote something on the computer then he gave me a white form and said good luck ( and kept my passport ). The first word I read quick on that form is congratulations I asked him fast when I'm gonna get the visa he said the details you need to know in that form.

That was it. I think since my case is that confusing, they gonna put me under AP. I hope NOT(

  6. Thank you for your detailed message. To answer your quesitions, they have not given her any papers in the embassy. All of what the consular said "Go home and relax and will let you know" . It is just one time from NVC that i heard i have got a refusal. I called them like 10 times after that and all of them said i'm under AP>

is there difference between 221g AP and standard AP ? I'm wondering if that person in NVC gave us the wrong info.

    Thank you again.

  7. Hi mero.lola,

Did you in fact GET a 221g at your interview? That is a type of "refusal/denial" form from my understanding. But also, it doesn't mean you've been totally denied. Some people get them because they need FURTHER information to prove they're a bona fide couple. At your interview did they say anything regarding your the form or what your status was? Often times, they won't have a lot of information for you until it gets returned to the US and gets whatever processing done here that needs. Then they'll send a letter.

For K1 filers even if you're approved at the interview, you go into AP until your K1 visa is actually issued. AP is just "administrative processing" and during this time they do whatever "processing" needs to be done at that time. Sometimes that's verifying that information submitted in your interview is correct. Or just putting your actually visa through. And unfortunately, there's NO TIME "limit" to how long it could be there... :(

I've never heard of people getting visas ON THE SPOT in Egypt (or many other countries). That just doesn't happen often. Even here in America, getting official government documents takes time to process and receive.

It TOTALLY sucks that these processes don't give MORE information so there isn't any misunderstandings. They would probably eliminate MANY calls/emails inquiring what exactly this information means. It's a TERRIBLE system.

Also, another route you can try is go through your US congressman and/or senator and see if they can help you get any further information.

Good luck and fingers crossed for you... :) :)

  8. i had a really weird incident today and i would appreciate if someone could help me. I called the NVC to check in the status and that lady told me that my case was denied and i will have to call the embassy to get more info. I was so panicked. I called them again three times and everyone of the staff that answered me told me that it is still under AP and not refused. Last agent told me that she might have told me that because the consulor didnt give my fiance the visa on spot (which means refusal) and the consular put the case under 221g AP .

What is 221g AP? is that the standard AP? what should i do now?

    Thanks Everyone

  10. We interviewed in December 2013 and went into AP until February 2014. Then we were approved. They had to check on some things with us too. Mostly, the CO wanted to make sure we weren't married. The time it took for them to approve was terrible, but in the grand scheme of things, it was minimal to the rest of the waiting we've experienced.

Thank you for your response. So in my case, I should expect another month at least? that is terrible. I cant wait till all of this crisis are over. It has been a nightmare.

  11. Any criminal convictions? Anything that (considering you are now stuck in the dread AP) could hinder their background check?

But just don't think too much into it yet, where as most APs only last a few hours or a couple days some can last a couple of weeks and only a few last the unfortunate months.

Nope, fingerprint is clean. No convection, Nothing.

  12. Tell us more about your case.

The evidence you sent in, how often you saw each other.

    How long you've been together.

    What questions did they ask?

did they give any piece of paper at the interview?

    Hello Daisy,

so through our engagement period ( a year and half now) i went to see my fiance 5 times. Each time was about 3-4 weeks. They asked her how long she knows me, where do i work, when is she planing to travel and where will she get married. Thats it. They gave her that paper of regular information and regulations of K1 visa.

    Thanks

  13. Hello All,

I wanted to create this topic for those who have the same or similar situation like mine so we can share more info and get an idea of what is going on on that limbo. Let me be the first one to state my case.

My fiance had her interview on March,29th. It was just 3 questions asked, then the consular took her passport and said that she will do some more investigations and then will let her know. My Fiance asked her how long or why is that and the consular answer was that she didnt refuse her but she needs to look at the case further.

Today is 4/13 and i have not heard anything back till now. I called NVC and they said that my papers are still at the embassy. my status in NVC is Administrative Processing since the day of the interview.

I hope someone would share an advice here or his/her experience as well.

Thank you and Good Luck to ALL
