Did you get the card? I have my Oath ceremony today, had a combo interview and just got a email action was taken when logged on it says Your New Card has been Mailed. I hope it is just a standard update as I consider myself over from this process as of today.

Just saw this, I never got the card which upsets me because I paid for it (sad) but nope, never got the card.

If you guys need any advice or help with organizing your evidence, like letter examples or a good lawyer contact info in Minneapolis - please do not hesitate to ask. :) Good luck and see y'all in that citizenship group in July 2020.

Good job getting it done yourself.

Just got back from my interview and thought I would share my experience. I live in Rockford, which makes Chicago my service center. If you live in and around Chicago, the Blue line is your best bet as it gets off right by the service center. When I got inside, it felt like an airport terminal, had to remove shoes, belts and sweater (Chicago is always cold to me.) The guards are really friendly, they would ask what you're there for and they will direct you. Citizenship is on the second floor, join the line, there will be a line. Ensure you have your appointment letter ready when you get to the reception window. The receptionist stamped the letter and gave me a number with a door number. There are two seating areas 1 and 2, they will give you a side. I got door two, Officer Lin came out and called my number and escorted me into the room. Once we got to her office, she asked for my ID's so I gave her my expired green card and DL, she copied them and handed them back to me. She then went through my I-751asking questions about being outside of the US then approved it. We proceeded to the civics test asked 5 out of 10 questions then proceeded to the reading and writing test. If you studied for the civics test, you should have no problem. We went through my N400 application, asking all the criminal and gun questions. She printed out a sheet showing that the civic, written and oral test were passed. Then she printed out a document showing other documents I need to send in. It is pending approval because we have not received our tax documents as yet. My advice walk with all updated documents for eg bank statements showing that you're still in a true relationship. Light at the end of the tunnel.

My understanding is that you can scan and attach evidence with an online application.  As to the advantages of online vs paper, I am not sure anyone can tell for certain.  Online appears to be faster, but my wife filed her application through the mail and was naturalized in a little over five month, so YMMV.

    Good Luck!

    Thanks for the advice.

Take a look at the N-400 guide and sample form. I did mine in the old way (paper). Just because I did not know then that I could do it online.  It took me 15 months to become US citizen.

Thanks, I was thinking about applying with paper, just because of some of the questions. I have paramilitary training and weapons training so I needed to explain that on a separate sheet.

  6. I know this was probably discussed in another thread but I can't find it. So,

1- I know the debate is online or paper what's the benefits of each?

2- What documents should I send with the application?

I see some people say just send the form with the payment; I'm doing the credit card form while some people resend evidence that they've already sent with their I-751.

    3- What's the best practice?

Thanks in advance for all the information.

Still no sign of the 18 month extension letter! I am a CSC filer with an NOA of July 2 2017. I wonder where my extension letter is. This is definitely frustrating. Any other folks still waiting on theirs?

Have not seen that letter as yet either. I still don't have the stamp, they turned me away saying come back two weeks prior to the expiration. So I wait.
