  1. What do you think, is there any chance for EU CURRENT this year?

I think / hope it will go very close. Maybe 42/43k. I know people say a cut off of circa 40k but that would surely be revised a little upwards now.

Its a solid EU bulletin. I would have liked to have seen 34,500 but what can ya do.

Another solid 4k bulletin next month and it will go very close.

  2. Region All DV Chargeability Areas Except Those Listed Separately

    AFRICA 34,150 Except: Egypt: 24,675 Ethiopia: 30,000

    ASIA 5,950

    EUROPE 34,125

    NORTH AMERICA (BAHAMAS) 6

    OCEANIA 1,175

    SOUTH AMERICA,and the CARIBBEAN 1,075

EU back on track - i think it will go very close to current. SA struggling along.

  3. Hi everyone. I've been reading om this website for months now and it's been very helpful. This is my first topic on this forum. I have an inquiry about the diversi g visa interview. When my husband applied for the Diversity visa, we were technically not married yet because of our islamic religion. We were married on paper but not married married. Lol. When my husband applied for the Diversity visa. He said he doesn't rememebr reading anything about a spouse so he didn't add me. Our paper marriage was for example on September 29 and he applied for the visa on October 15 and we were married on November 6. I am a united states citizen so I don't need the visa. He forgot all about aplliying for the visa. When we recieved the reply on may about if he won the lottery, Turns out he was a selectee. When I checked his ds-260 to fill out the application, his name was written as the principal applicant and there was another box under it where it had spouse in it with his name also written there. When I did the ds-260 with him. I changed the spouse name to my name. Now I'm worried if he is still eligible to recieve a visa or not. Now hs has an intervoew date in cairo this month. He had everything that is written on the Diversity visa instructions site and also a wedding invitation of ours and the hall receipt. What do you guys think is going to happen. I'm so worried about the situation. Sometimes I think there is hope for him to recieve it and sometimes I just feel hopeless.

I second Britsimons response. Also your lack of knowledge is a little scary!

  4. No that isn't what I said (3 VBs).. I said in practical terms what you said is correct. But your original post said the bulletin released in July is September's bulletin. It's not, it's for August, as you have now correctly said.

If you look at a visa bulletin you will see that all the visa categories (family, job etc) have numbers for the following month ie in July for August. Under DV, and ONLY under DV, there is a second table for the second month hence. That is the advance notification.

And yes it would be nice if people didn't get hung up on the date and continually pepper forums (not just this one) with "why isn't the VB out yet" continuously from the 7th of the month...

Sorry Susie....yes I get you now...it was actually my typo. I got all the other months I stated correct except the last one. What I should have said is It will be released in July.....for August bulletin.....and interviewed in September.

haha i know but its just human nature i guess. People have alot riding on it. I dont care when they come out as long as the numbers are good.

Alot of belly aching on other forums as people with high numbers are losing hope. Their main gripe being that not being selected at all is easier to take than being selected and not being inteviewed. I know this is the system that they use. But i would have to agree that they need to be improve the system drastically whereby people that are picked get their chance to be interviewed. Or at least make it more more efficient in that less people are left dissapointed.

  5. The bulletin released in July is technically the August bulletin, also containing advance notification for DV for September. There have been - extremely rare - occasions when the numbers have changed from the advance to final notification. But in practical terms you are probably correct (other than the 8th of the month is probably too early for what should determine the final case numbers for the year...)

    thanks SusieQQQ.

So you are saying there is only 3 VB's left really??

But the July release date is the August bulletin for interviews in September I thought? Like this month is the March release date, called the April bulletin for interviews in May. I dont get what you mean when you say "There have been - extremely rare - occasions when the numbers have changed from the advance to final notification".

ok forget about the date....it can any day between 8th and 15th. Its generally around 8th or 9th. Lets not get hung up on that.

  6. I think Im losing my mind a bit here!! The last visa bulletin for DV2015 will released roughly on July 7th - 10th?

This will be Septembers bulletin. This is correct yes?

So 4 bulletins left. April 8th for June interviews, May 8th for July interviews, June 8th for August interviews and July 8th for September interviews. So July 8th is date for last bulletin for DV2015.

  7. That bit in bold makes me chuckle. It is quite obvious that an individual is going to make their own decision, and no one can predict that. But that is not what predictions are based on. It is group dynamics - large groups of people behave in predictable ways - and you encounter those scenarios and are managed by them every single day of your life - but you clearly don't even realize that fact. Normally only a young person would be that self centered, but from the 1983 I assume (by applying group dynamics and figuring out is is probably your birth year) you are 31/32 - which is surprisingly old to not have noticed something like that....

Meanwhile back in DV land - you seem to have done some predicting of your own to come up with the answer that you are comfortable at 40k - but that of course assumes that people will behave in certain predictable ways...

Good man yourself! Where does it say I am comfortable? I am hopeful, not comfortable.

  8. Hi People!

I am one of the winners, but unfortunately I've got a high case number (EU40XXX). So, what do you experts think about it? Is there any hope for me?

Thanks a lot for your time buddies!

I am far from an expert. I am on that number too. I think we will be good. I am not saying that out of bias. It will be tight, theres no doubt about that but I am hopeful. March and April are huge months for us. If these bulletins are consistent with previous months i.e. 4/5k per month then we are good. We are hopeing for no halt in the numbers. I dont subscribe too much to these people predicting cut offs. In reality they dont know what people are going to decide to do with their lives!
