  1. Hello all,

I have a question regarding police report.

My CN is DV2015 AS26XX so, I'm expecting an interview around December if all goes well. Currently I'm residing in Malaysia where I'll be having my interview. I have gathered all the required documents including a police report from my home country when I visited there early May (last month). However, this police report states that it is valid for six months. As such, it will be expired by the time I have my interview. I got the police report on May 2nd and left my home country the following day (May 3rd) and haven't been back there ever since and won't be until the time of my interview. Additionally, the reciprocity page of the Department of State for my home country under police records indicates that they are available to citizens and non-citizens who are PHYSICALLY present there, UNAVAILABLE to others.

So my question is: would I have a problem showing up with an expired police report given the above facts? Do I need to make a trip back home (which will cost me a lot of money) just to get a new police record?

I would appreciate your enlightenment on this especially senior members here.

    Thanks,

    Sam

    sam,,

as my understanding, if you have stayed in malaysia for more than 1 year, you should get police record from malasia authority.

just check again, may be, i could be wrong

  2. Yes, they need an address that you will get your green card sent to, and it must be a physical address (not PO Box). You can change the address at your point of entry so don't panic if you need to change it.

Giuseppe's answer above goes off on a tangent a bit. They don't really care where you will stay, you can put n/a for that, and the stuff about income etc doesn't relate to the address (you will need to satisfy the consulate that you won't become a public charge). But they do need an address to send your documents to.

thank you susieQQQ, that's clear enough,
