Sheldon girl, I was in Jamaica last week to bring Roger home. We were staying at the Riu in Negril. I was wondering if your fiance works there? Roger and I were talking to Sheldon (Roger is friends with him) ......very nice guy. I talked with Sheldon about your process....I really believe you have nothing to worry about.
-
Yes exactly how mine came along. good news!!! You will see when you look back.
-
Blessings2, same thing kinda happened to me. It is frustrating......Mine was caught up in the USCIS status limbo for almost 5 weeks then walahhhhhh....there it was
You too will see some action on your visa getting issued :joy:
-
Sounds like yours is defiantly rolling along at the Embassy
Puts a smile on my face for you!! :joy:
You will see they need to run clearances in the USA.
I figured this out cs with mine my status changed to ISSUED on Jamaica's Emancipation Day (closed in Jamaica)
I believe the Embassy waits for final checks in the USA.
YOU WILL BE FINE
*no matter what it looks like the soonest 4 weeks on everyone in Jamaica
-
By the way, you can be in AP while the status reads "Ready"
The embassy verified this with me.
-
KissMyStars83, It has to go through processing. Kingston never reacts immediately. You will see it soon come!
-
Calene, sounds like it is going through all the checks ... soon should issue.
-
NO ONE gets visa in hand after any kind of approval same day as interview. You will go into administrative processing in Jamaica.

Visa "issued" on website August 1, 2014(Jamaica's Independence Day..which must mean it's updated on the USA side) in hand August 7 ...courier DOES CALL to meet at any meeting place
-
Congratulations!! Ours went to Issued yesterday at about 4pm. I'm thinking it issues on the USA side cs US Embassy Jamaica was closed for Immancipation Day.

I have heard there was a government DOS computer crash..I tried to search online but no information.

From what I read your change of status is good thing. I've read on other threads it goes back into AP right before it prints visa. But then again all the reading I've done there are many differences.
I hope you get your loved one home to you. I know the feeling cs this is taking a tremendous toll on my children and me. We are waiting to do our family vacations when he comes home......
Best of luck to you!

I did just read on the US Embassy Jamaica website http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Jamaica&cty=Kingstone
Visa issued same day?No
If not whats the waiting period?Average is 2-4 weeks; everyone goes through an Additional Processing (AP)period after the interview.
Waiting is the most difficult when you wait this long

Believe it or not this happened to my fiancé. He entered the USA on Sept. 1, 2014 and departed mid month of September. We received news his sister was dying of stage 4 lung cancer. He was able to be with her for 2 weeks after returning to Jamaica and passed away on Sept. 27, 2014. I emailed the Embassy and they responded he has an appointment in a week and a half. The email states he only needs to bring an intent to marry letter from both of us and the fee they require for his country.
